Chapter 1914 Contact with the Elf Race

Chapter 1914 Contact with the Elf Race

Zhou Xu conducted on-site investigations along the way and arrived at the ruling city of the new district, which was the original capital of the Goblin Kingdom, relatively smoothly.

What was once the king's castle of the goblin kingdom has now become their center of governance.

The main reason is that this is indeed one of the very few places that meet their living and working needs.

Ordinary goblin buildings are too small for them to live in, but that doesn't mean all buildings in the goblin kingdom are that small.

Perhaps because goblins are so short, they have a particular fondness for tall things.

However, ordinary goblins don't have the strength or resources for this, while the mansions of the wealthy and powerful are all grand residences. Leaving aside the size of some daily necessities, the houses themselves are very spacious for human living and working, without any problems.

As the residence of the king, the royal castle was no exception.

Before Zhou Xu arrived, the staff in the ruling city had already received the news and prepared the room.

Basically, no sooner had Zhou Xu stepped into the King's Castle than the staff of the department responsible for its administration presented him with a prepared report.

Zhou Xu had inspected the area from the beginning, so he naturally knew that they were doing a pretty good job here.

Given the situation in the new district, it would be good enough if we could stabilize things for now; further development will have to be done gradually.

The new district is currently positioned not only as an important stronghold for their Great Zhou on this side of the border, but also as their existing production factory.

There are already large-scale production lines here for a range of technological equipment, such as diesel engines, transport trucks, goblin airships, and radio equipment.

As soon as the resources arrive, the production line immediately gets up and running, helping them produce the equipment they need.

Although after mastering the core technology, other regions of the Great Zhou could also build the same production line for production.

However, setting up these production lines and training the workers on those lines is a huge investment, costing both money and time.

Now that they have readily available resources, this can significantly alleviate their financial burden.

While Zhou Xu was reviewing reports and inspecting work, Hilke, who had remained remarkably calm for the past six months, finally began to feel a little impatient.

Zhou Xu, having realized this, didn't tease him. Since he was already there, he could handle any situation that might arise.

"Go ahead, be careful. If possible, try to persuade them to join our Great Zhou, or form an alliance if you prefer."

Zhou Xu did not hide his thoughts.

Hilke is a smart man. If he couldn't even think of something this simple, wouldn't people think he's a fool?
Having received his mission, Hilcrux set off.

To guard against a possible invasion by the elves, the goblin kingdom has established special outposts near that side of the border.

Now, with Hilke leading the elven knights, they have crossed the goblin outpost and the border, and strictly speaking, they have now officially entered elven territory.

Riding on horseback, Hilke gazed into the distance at a vast forest, behind which lay a towering mountain, its area far exceeding that of the forest where the wood elves had previously resided.

As he slowly approached on horseback, Hilke felt little nervous.

He knew the elves too well; they wouldn't make a move until the elves truly approached the forest.

Sure enough, they arrived safely at the edge of the forest, only to be stopped by a stray arrow.

Looking at the arrow that had landed half a meter in front of his horse, Hilke couldn't help but sigh, realizing how similar the Elven way of doing things was. Instead of being angry at this response, Hilke chuckled softly and then removed his helmet.

With the gentle breeze blowing in her face, her signature elf ears were exposed to the air.

"I am Hilke, an elf. I invite my fellow elves from the forest to come out and meet me!"

This situation was clearly something the other party had not anticipated at all.

In the minds of the elves here, their neighbors are a bunch of goblins.

But Hilke's appearance, and his very distinct racial features, quickly convinced the forest elves that this was indeed one of their kind.

Even with fellow elves, even those they've never met, the elves inherently possess a degree of trust—basically, trust in the elf race as a whole.

Before long, an elven sentinel wearing leather armor and boots, with a quiver at his waist and a bow and arrows in his hand emerged from the forest.

To show goodwill, Hilke gestured for the elven knights to dismount.

As the distance continued to close, seeing the other person's flaxen hair and emerald eyes, just like her own, Hilke's eyes lit up, as did the elven sentinel walking towards them.

The elves were originally just called the elves. Names like grassland elves and wood elves only came about after the destruction of the old civilization, when the elves were scattered and dispersed to different places. They were self-designations.

Even so, within the Elven race, there are specific rules regarding the hair and eye colors of different elves.

According to the history of the Elven race, before becoming a god, the Elven God had five children during his long life. Each of these five children then gave birth to a lineage, which led to the Elven race. The fathers of these five ancestors were thus revered as Elven Gods.

The third son of the Elf God inherited his valor; he was skilled in archery and horsemanship, agile, and brave in battle, with flaxen hair and emerald eyes.

Their identical hair and eye colors indicate that they all share the same ancestor's bloodline.

This alone is enough to make them feel closer to each other.

However, since it was still the first time they met, there was still a degree of caution that should be exercised.

"My name is Basil, and I am the squad leader of the outer sentry squad. May I ask where you fellow clansmen come from and what brings you here?"

When questioned, Hilke directly stated his identity and purpose...

"We come from a country called Great Zhou. Before this, we were invaded by the neighboring goblin kingdom, fought a war with them, and won. Now the goblin kingdom has been incorporated into our Great Zhou and has become part of our Great Zhou."

Upon hearing this, a look of horror flashed in Basil's eyes.

He knew of the goblin kingdom, of course; they had just been invaded by the goblin kingdom and a battle had broken out.

Although the outcome ended with them successfully repelling the goblin kingdom's invasion, they also learned that the goblin kingdom was not an easy target.

Who would have thought that in the blink of an eye, they would be defeated? This made Basil even more vigilant.

Throughout the process, Hilke sensed the change in Basil's emotions, but remained calm and composed.

"Please rest assured, we have no ill intentions towards you. We learned from the intelligence of the Goblin Kingdom that there is another Elf race here, so we wanted to come and see how our fellow race is doing and hope that we can establish an alliance and get along amicably."
