Chapter 1919 Wolf Riders

Chapter 1919 Wolf Riders

A new day begins, beyond the border on one side of the new district...

An unfamiliar cavalry unit began to roam the border. They had wolf heads and human bodies, typical orcish appearances, and even their mounts were giant, burly wolves.

They were armed with various weapons, including swords, spears, and halberds, and their armor was mainly leather, but it was not uniform and varied, with all sorts of old and rotten items, but no new ones.

This was another neighbor of the original goblin kingdom. To be precise, these orcs were not a single nation; they were composed of many orc tribes, which the goblins referred to as the 'Orc Alliance'.

At that time, the goblin kingdom was short of resources, and the goblins thought about expanding into new places. They went through the elves and the Great Zhou, and were eventually wiped out, but they never thought of fighting the orc alliance, which naturally had its reasons.

The main reason is that the Orc Alliance is even poorer than them; these guys mainly rely on robbing to obtain resources and even food.

Under these circumstances, orcs are not easy to fight either.

To be precise, it was only after this that they attacked the Elven race and the Great Zhou, and this order cannot be reversed.

The Orc Alliance was not keen on provoking the Goblin Kingdom, given the Goblins' formidable weapons.

Even wild beasts in nature know to only prey on targets that are weaker than themselves in order to reduce the risk, and orcs are no exception.

They just wanted to obtain food resources, not to fight the goblin kingdom to the death.

However, the Goblin Kingdom remained silent after being annexed by the Great Zhou Dynasty. As time went on, this naturally aroused the suspicion of the Orc Alliance.

Given this context, with winter fast approaching, the period before winter is when the Orc Alliance is most active, as they need to seize food for the winter, and the Goblin Kingdom is undoubtedly one of their targets.

Two reasons combined led to the scene we see today.

After taking over the defense of the new district, the Great Zhou Dynasty did keep a low profile on the border, but that doesn't mean they abandoned the border and ignored it.

Basically, as soon as there is any movement on the border, the rear garrison camps receive the news.

According to intelligence within the Goblin Kingdom, they had long known of the existence of the Orc Alliance and had made arrangements at the border. The 100-man Trapped Battalion, who were on duty at the time, immediately mounted their horses, grabbed their spears, and galloped out.

The appearance of the cavalry surprised the wolf riders who were lingering on the border.

The goblin kingdom doesn't have this kind of cavalry.

They quickly realized that something was really wrong in the goblin kingdom.

Before they could think any further, as the distance closed rapidly, the elite cavalrymen raised their Thunder Rifles and pulled the triggers.

The Trapped Camp is not just about using cold weapons. Throughout history, the Trapped Camp has always been defined as an all-around elite force.

According to the standards of the Trapped Camp, every soldier must be proficient in driving all vehicles and be able to use all weapons in combat.

With the progress of the times, new-era firearms and equipment have naturally entered the equipment list of the Trapped Camp.

The Thunder Rifle is quick and easy to operate, and can be used rapidly while on the move. When paired with the Beast Warhorse, which has excellent mobility and is more agile and swift than ordinary technological vehicles, it is an excellent combination.

The orcish wolf riders were no strangers to firearms, having frequently encountered them in past battles against the goblin kingdom.

But they clearly didn't expect the cavalrymen in front of them to suddenly raise their guns one after another, which caught them completely off guard.

What good can be expected from enemy troops constantly lingering on their border?
The soldiers of the Trapped Camp didn't stand on ceremony with them at all, emptying their magazines right away.

Amidst the intense gunfire, the opposing wolf riders were routed and fled in disarray, hastily dispersing their formation and retreating at full speed.

This cavalry unit was small, consisting of only twenty or thirty wolf riders. They seemed to have only come to scout the situation and had no intention of launching an attack. Their retreat was unusually swift. By the time Zhou Chongshan arrived with reinforcements, the wolf riders had vanished.

Meanwhile, the soldiers of the Trapped Camp had already retrieved the corpses of the enemy wolf riders. Clearly, the enemy hadn't had time to take the corpses with them when they fled.

Of these corpses, only two were the giant wolves from the other side; the other seven were werewolves.

But their elite 100-man squad emptied their magazines and fired far more than just a few bullets.

Not to mention Zhou Chongshan and his men later on, even the hundred soldiers who had been firing wildly back then all had strange expressions on their faces now.

Normally, given their firepower at the time, an ordinary twenty or thirty cavalrymen should have been wiped out in a single encounter.

However, this was all that was achieved.

This forced them to reassess the wolf riders before them.

With that thought in mind, when they dug nearly thirty bullets from the body of a wolf rider, they were at a loss for words.

You have to understand, they're not using old-fashioned flintlock muskets anymore; their power is completely different.

Most of the bullets got stuck in the opponent's muscles and bones, and one even got stuck in the skull, cracking the skull but not penetrating it, which made the soldiers of the Trapped Camp exclaim that it was outrageous.

These orcs are incredibly resilient.

During this time, they did not rule out the possibility that these orcs might be martial artists at the Hundred Refinement Realm, with physical attributes superior to ordinary orcs.

But then I thought, it's normal for one or two orcs in the opposing cavalry to be at the Hundred Refinement Realm, but it's impossible for them all to be at the Hundred Refinement Realm, right?

The seven wolf rider corpses in front of us are all in similar condition.

Just as the soldiers of the Trapped Camp were feeling surprised and uncertain, one of the soldiers hesitated, looking as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.

"Speak your mind, don't beat around the bush."

Noticing his subordinate's reaction, Zhou Chongshan urged him directly.

Upon hearing this, the soldier stopped hesitating and spoke up...

“When we were firing at long range before, I noticed that there seemed to be some strange patterns on the underside of these werewolf armors, but they’re all gone now.”

His previous hesitation clearly indicated that he was still somewhat unsure about the situation.

During the battle, both sides were moving quickly, and his attention was focused on firing his gun. He only glanced at the details on the werewolves.

This is also one of the main reasons why he felt uncertain.

In contrast, his comrades-in-arms were even more confident than he was.

"General, Old Li has received His Majesty's blessing, and his eyesight is renowned. Since Old Li has said so, he must be right."

Zhou Chongshan did not offer any opinion on this, but simply nodded.

"I will also report this."
