Chapter 391 The Generous Bastard

Hearing Atwater's words, Burgess immediately rolled his eyes.

She put down her wine glass: "Guys."

"Atwater is the stingiest guy I've ever met, and I promise, you've never seen him like that.

Burgess dances: "We were yesterday."

Seeing Atwater trying to stop her, Burgess blocked his hand: "Yesterday, we drove for half an hour to find an ATM. Do you know why?"

"Just to find one that doesn't charge a handling fee, Oumaiga."

"Haha."

Erin and Horstead laughed when they heard what Burgess said.

"I don't care what you say."

Atwater covered his stomach proudly: "A man's stomach must be full, you don't understand the fun of saving money."

"The minimum consumption is two glasses of beer tonight, drink it quickly, I'm not kidding you."

While speaking, Atwater patted the table:
"You guys talk, I'm going to entertain other guests."

"If it can be replaced with the glass in your hand, I think it must be very good." Irene raised the beer glass in her hand and shook it.

"Next time."

Atwater picked up the oversized wine glass in his hand, winked at her, and turned to leave.

"Hey, we've been waiting for you for a while."

Horstead and Irene greeted him.

"If you want something to drink, just call the waiter." Burgess reminded him.

"Ok."

Looking at the beer glasses in their hands, Ethan raised his hand.

Soon, the bartender came over.

Ethan handed over the credit card: "Four glasses of pure Macallan single barrel 18 years old, a glass of beer, thank you."

"Ok."

The waiter took the credit card and gave him a number.

Wait a while before ordering wine, just show the number directly, and the account will be billed at the bar counter.

"It's my first meeting with everyone, and this round is mine." Ethan put away the number and smiled at them.

"Are you serious?"

Horstead said in surprise: "Actually, a glass of beer is enough, it doesn't need to cost too much."

"It's okay, it can be regarded as an apology to this beautiful lady."

Ethan looked at Burgess with a smile: "Well, at least I'm still a generous bastard, right?"

Burgess was stunned, and quickly waved his hands: "Of course not."

"Ah, no, I mean just that."

Ethan set a language trap for her, which made Burgess hold back for a while, not knowing what to say.

She gritted her teeth even more, but she couldn't show it well.

The fire of gossip in the eyes of Irene and Horsted was blazing, and they looked at the two opposite people with playful faces.

The waiter brought the wine and saved Burgess from an embarrassing situation.

"guys."

Ethan picked up a small glass full of whiskey: "Nice to meet you, cheers."

"So do we, thanks Ethan."

Horsted booed and reached for the cup: "Cheers."

"Bang bang bang."

The bullet cups collided and made a crisp sound.

A few of them smiled and picked up the wine glasses, touched them, and drank them all in one gulp.

Burgess drank the whiskey in one gulp, put the glass heavily on the table, and exhaled the alcohol: "Huh, it's been a long day."

The smell of alcohol surged, and with what happened just now, her face turned pink.

"Walter?"

Noticing Erin's gossiping eyes, she spread her hands.

"Don't get me wrong." Ethan took the beer glass again, drank half of the glass and said:
"She and Atwater asked me a question today, I made a joke with them both, that's all."

"Ok."

Seeing that there was no gossip, Irene curled her lips bored.

Ethan looked around and didn't see anyone else, so he asked, "Hank, I know he's gone to play cards, Rusek is busy, what about the remaining three?"

"Antonio and Julie are both married and not available tonight."

Horstead took a sip of his beer and continued, "Olinsky rarely participates in our drinking activities."

Ethan shrugged, and the beer glass went straight to the bottom.

The cups in their hands were only about [-] milliliters. Ethan had just finished his meal, and drank it up in two strokes when he was thirsty.

He raised the empty glass and shook it, then looked at Irene:

"What were you talking about just now?"

"It's what I did before." Irene picked up the glass and said, "There is a former flight attendant sitting next to you."

Ethan looked sideways at Burgess: "Is this true?"

"That's right." Burgess nodded. She didn't tie up her ponytail like she did at work, and her brown hair hung down like waves, exuding a charming perfume.

"I did it for three years." She said with a smile, "until I entered the police station."

"The flight attendant."

Horsted picked up the wine glass and bumped Irene's arm, and the two burst out laughing.

"Well, I know what you're trying to say, that's Big Mom's job."

Burgess said seriously: "You can make fun of me all you want, but the experience of being a flight attendant has taught me better crowd control, conflict resolution and intimidation tactics."

She rolled her eyes and glanced at the three detectives: "For the intelligence team, these are very useful abilities."

"Oh."

"understood."

Ethan and the three of them instantly understood what she meant and nodded with a smile.

Burgess didn't care, because she couldn't join the intelligence team without this desire. She didn't want to work as a patrolman all the time.

She looked at Erin: "Do you have any stories?"

"I'm just an ordinary person, there's nothing to say." Irene picked up the glass and looked at Hosted.

"I was a soldier." Horstead took over.

Burgess took a sip of his beer. "Have you ever seen a fight?"

He hesitated for a moment: "Yes."

Seeing his expression, unwilling to mention the past, Burgess turned around:
"how about you?"

"me?"

Ethan pointed at himself, originally intending to listen to the gossip, but he didn't expect it to come to him.

"Yes, it's you."

Irene propped her hands on the table, and the pendant on her chest shook: "Please, in the future, either you will be behind us, or we will be behind you, we must get to know you, right?"

"She was right."

Horstead nodded Irene with his thumb, and looked at Ethan curiously.

Facing the eyes of the three people, Ethan shrugged and said, "Well, I used to be a town policeman."

"Town police?"

Burgess put down his wine glass in surprise, the span is too big, the distance from the town policeman to the police detective is too far away.

She realized that she had lost her composure, and quickly added:

"Sorry, I didn't mean to look down on the town police."

"It's okay." Ethan smiled and picked up his glass.

You can't hide this from anyone. If you are curious, you can find your resume by searching the system casually. It doesn't matter if you say it.

Irene and Ethan touched the cups, the corners of their mouths slightly raised:

"Then you must be a very good town policeman."

The intelligence team is not a department for dawdling in life. If you don't have some ability, you dare not come in.

Thanks to the hot dry beef noodle brother for the reward, thank you
