Gou is a dark elf in Warhammer

Chapter 1083, 935 Tolandil's Arrow

Today marks the fifth day since Renn arrived at the Dragon Islands.

The group initially landed on the island of Asylum, then traveled along the ancient holy path to the island of Hosamur the following day, and on the fourth day they moved to the island of Kotan. At this moment, they were setting off from the temple city of Tukamon on Kotan, the massive procession advancing slowly and steadily through the dense, dark jungle.

Tall ferns and ancient trees with intertwined roots blocked out the sunlight, only briefly opening up as the group moved forward before quietly closing back behind them, as if this jungle had never been disturbed.

Riding on the back of the Dilophosaurus, Renn's body rose and fell with the mount's steady gait. One hand held the notebook firmly to prevent it from slipping during the bumps, while the other hand kept writing, drawing, and annotating, the pen tip making a fine, rapid sound on the paper.

At this moment, his attention was almost completely absorbed in those lines and symbols, compressing the entire world into this notebook.

The ten temple cities located on the Dragon Islands have been largely explored in the past few days. The arrival of Lord Huniartanque is like reconnecting the source of a long-broken circuit, forcibly pulling the previously independent and distorted structure back into its established order.

However, this kind of "repair" is never free; it always comes at a price.

The price was the execution of all eight lizard priests on Hosamur Island.
The five temple cities on that island are still functioning, the hatching pools have not dried up, and new life is still being conceived, but the center of power has fundamentally shifted.

Everything is firmly ruled by the ancient blood warriors.

The island's forces are divided into three factions, seemingly stable, but in reality, undercurrents are surging and conflict could break out again at any time.

Ozomur, the ancient warrior who rules Ho-K, is a vassal of Krosigor, the ancient warrior who rules Kocomara. The reason for this hierarchical relationship is not complicated. Krosigor is taller and stronger, and almost never gets injured in battle. He also carries a Nebon-style banner and wears a menacing triceratops helmet.

But these are not the most critical.

Most importantly, he has a Tyrannosaurus Rex partner.

In addition, the island is also entangled with a long, seemingly tedious but worthwhile historical thread: tribal wars, broken alliances, resource disputes... fragmented and bloody past events, blurred by time, still clearly point to one conclusion: it is these conflicts and compromises that piece together the background of the alliance between Krosigor and Ozomur.

This alliance is currently engaged in a continuous conflict with an alliance in the northern part of the island comprised of the cities of Takseida, Ushuhi, and Dez.

Kenshen, the ruler of Takseidar, wields a giant axe on the battlefield that is larger than himself, and when the axe blade falls, it seems as if the air itself is being cleaved.

He is known as the "Leopard of Radiance," a title derived from the Great Pyramid in the center of Takseida, dedicated to the ancient saint Radiance.

It was for this reason that Raine discovered there a stone tablet recording the construction method of the Brilliant Training Ground, as well as passwords used to control the changes in the environment.

Kenkan, the ruler of Ushushi, was equally formidable. He too wielded a giant axe, yet displayed a completely different temperament in battle. Speed, elegance, and ferocity achieved an eerie balance within him, and each swing resembled a precisely calculated dance.

Kenshen and Kenkan, yes, they are extremely rare.

Normally, only one individual of the Ancient Blood Warrior caliber will be born from a single incubation pool in one cycle. However, these two are twins who hatched simultaneously from the same pool of fluid.

A brotherly bond?

Compared to other cases, this is different from the model of Kuja and his brothers. Although the latter hatched in the same batch, they were not true twins in the true sense, but rather closer to the result of group birth.

The relationship between these brothers is more like the almost symbiotic bond between Chupakoko and Pichipochi, not a simple blood relationship, but a mutual reflection that was etched into their instincts from the moment they were born.

Kenshen and Kenkan were born in the hatchery of Takseidar. In the endless tribal wars that spanned almost their entire childhood, the twins stood side by side and fought side by side. In a decisive battle, they joined forces to kill the then ruler of Ushushi, an equally powerful but ultimately slow-moving ancient warrior.

As the battle axe fell, blood and dust splattered together, and the old power was ended on the spot amidst roars and howls.

Subsequently, Kenkan naturally ascended to Ushuhi's throne.

Interestingly, their weapons—two enormous, almost exaggerated battle axes—have a distinctly Zhar dwarven style. The heavy axe blades, exaggerated counterweights, and the emphasis on chopping rather than dexterity make them more like heavy weapons wielded by centaurs.

There's an unspeakable irony in this, as if it were a compromise, a last resort, and even a subtle aesthetic of downgraded consumption. In the absence of a suitable heritage and forging system, they can only fill the void by borrowing the violent aesthetics of a foreign race.

Unlike his brothers, Kenkan has a title: "The Incarnation of Razcoto".

Of course, this title... is something to laugh off and forget.

After all, the situation on the Dragon Islands is vastly different from that on the continent of Lustria or in the Southern Jungles. Here, it is far removed from any established system, the will of Slan is long absent, and the names of the Old Ones are more like symbols that are repeatedly quoted but gradually become blurred, rather than clear and direct guidance.

The second-generation Slam Priest Adohish-Tehga serves the ancient saint Razkoto, just as the second-generation Mazdamudi worships the ancient saint Kotego.

Legend has it that Taraxlan was founded by Razcotho. According to the stories passed down through generations of lizardmen, Razcotho taught the lizardmen to read the night sky, to see through the moon and stars a radiance that began in the past and extends into the future. Following Razcotho's teachings, the Sran of the Moon City share all that the celestial bodies witness; they are regarded as the most trusted watchdogs of the Old Saints, overseeing every decision and weighing every outcome.

At least, the spirit lizards of that city firmly believed it.

Razcoto is seen as a distant, indifferent observer, embodying a cold-blooded and unwavering detachment, the kind of demeanor expected of lizardmen, and representing Slan's innate sense of alienation.

Whether Ushuhi was built by Razcotho is impossible to verify. However, it is certain that the magnificent and ancient pyramid in the center of the city was indeed dedicated to Razcotho. The proportions of the pyramid, the orientation of the stone steps, and even the angle at which the top platform is aligned with a specific star in the night sky all silently reiterate this point.

Generally speaking, Razcotho's domain is connected to lunar and celestial observation, and overlaps to some extent with that of another ancient saint, Akbellin, who also ruled the heavens. However, unlike the latter, who focused on storms and high altitudes, Razcotho's understanding of pious magic and the way of metal is particularly profound and ruthless, emphasizing order, trajectory, and inescapable inevitability.

This is why Raine discovered a set of stone tablets here that recorded the Heavenly Tribulation-level spell "Judgment Star Orbit".

Unfortunately, he himself was not proficient in magic. Even Eldrasil, who considered himself no less skilled in spellcasting than Adana, could only grasp the intricate and precise patterns with a vague understanding, barely able to comprehend their structure but unable to truly grasp their essence.

After all, this is a Heavenly Tribulation-level spell.

Fortunately, Master Hui was in the group. As a second-generation Sran Priest, although he didn't exclusively worship Razcoto like Ados-Tehga, he still understood its mysteries. The logic of celestial attraction, energy convergence, and causal judgment unfolded before his eyes.

However, he only understood it; he did not actually unleash it.

There was nothing that could be done; this was ultimately a Heavenly Tribulation-level spell.

However, Master Hui still took care of Renn. He projected a pre-set scene directly into Renn's mind, demonstrating the entire process of casting a spell, and then showing everything that the world would suffer when the result arrived.

Ryan participated in the raid on Omskoro.

In the initial plan, the three sorceresses who were apprenticed to Adosi Tehga were to join forces to cast Razkoto's Golden Orb as the first strike to kick off the raid.

But the plan changed later.

Bellorda found what she was looking for.

So, with the help of the sorceresses, she poured all her will into pulling a comet that was passing through outer space toward Ormskoro.

At that moment, the sky was torn apart, and light and fire intertwined as they fell, sealing the fate of the entire raid before it even began.

However, in Renn's view, that breathtaking, epic spectacle paled in comparison to the Judgment Star Orbit...

Simply weak burst!

As the images in his mind gradually faded, Renn pulled out his notebook almost at the same moment his consciousness returned.

Without hesitation, without even taking a deep breath, he lowered his head and began to write. His hand gripped the pen steadily and swiftly, the lines spreading rapidly across the page, replicating everything he had just witnessed as completely and accurately as possible. Before the ink had even dried, the page was already filled with dense annotations and deductions, as if if he had hesitated even a moment longer, the awe he had felt would have evaporated from his memory.

Besides the Judgment Star Orbit, Raine also discovered a set of magical records related to metal forging. The contents were not ordinary smelting, but rather involved direct magical intervention in the metal's structure, with the final product seemingly a special alloy?
However, Rennes was ultimately not an expert in this field. After studying it, Eldrasil, through a long period of silence and repeated deliberation, gave his assessment: the concept far surpasses contemporary understanding, but the process description is exceptionally complex and obscure, with materials and processes nested within each other, making it almost impossible to fully comprehend in a short period of time.

As for the specific strength, ductility, or special uses of this alloy, the stone slab does not provide a clear explanation, leaving only numerous broken annotations and blank spaces, as if deliberately pushing the answer to the future, leaving it to later generations to speculate.

The ruler of Dizzy was named Mangen, and was known as the "One-Eyed Serpent God." He was a relatively young lizardman warrior, renowned for his exceptional tactical mind. He was called "One-Eyed" because he had lost an eye in battle when a spirit lizard wielded a musket; and the "Serpent God" referred not to Sotigo, but to Tepok, the feathered serpent god.

The majestic pyramid in the center of Dez is a symbol dedicated to this ancient saint.

It was there that Raine found a completely different set of stone tablets. They didn't record any Cataclysmic spells, but instead described in detail a training ground tailor-made for spellcasters. Within that heavily protected space, spellcasters could safely test new spells and practice near-real combat against illusions constructed from magic, without worrying about the catastrophic consequences of losing control.

The reason why Hosamur Island is divided into north and south is due not only to the unbreakable brotherhood between Kenshen and Kenkanna and the direct military factors such as Ozomur's Tyrannosaurus Rex companion, but also to geographical isolation.

A majestic mountain range runs through the entire island, completely dividing it from north to south.

To launch an attack on each other, they either had to cross steep and dangerous mountains or take a detour by water.

Unfortunately, they didn't have a boat. Not because they couldn't build one, but because of a deeper, more irreconcilable divide.

The long-standing conflict between the Lizardmen and the Spirit Lizards, coupled with external pressure from the Spirit Lizard Navy of Kotan Island, means that even if the ship is built, it will face more problems.

Who drives it? How does it work?

Lizardmen can move around in shallow waters, but they are ultimately not as adept as spirit lizards.

Besides the two major forces in the north and south, a third force is active on the island: the Spirit Lizard Guerrilla Team, which lurks in the jungle. They are more like a hybrid of rebels, bandits, and guerrilla fighters, operating covertly, striking swiftly, and their strength should not be underestimated.

When Raine found them, he noticed that some of the lizards were carrying firearms. These weapons came from various sources, some from the support of Casabe, Tucamon, or Moki, while others had a very distinctive Zal dwarf style, with a rough but reliable structure.

Clearly, a Zhar dwarf expedition once landed on the island of Hosamur.

As for their fate...

The giant axes in the hands of the Kenshen brothers, the metal armor worn by some of the lizardmen, and the muskets in the hands of the spirit lizard guerrillas all silently tell the story of the ultimate fate of this expedition.

Mangan's eye was blinded by these lizard guerrillas with a musket.

It is worth noting that there are two spirit lizard priests in charge of managing affairs in the city of Dizz. Perhaps because they were born with the ability to generate ideas, or perhaps due to the constant pressure of the tense environment, all spirit lizards in Dizz, whether slaves or commoners, except for these two priests, are forced to wear shackles.

and so……

The two priests died a horrific death.

Master Hui personally intervened.

The situation on Kotan Island echoes that on Asylum Island in a subtle and intriguing way, as if the same piece landed in different places, reflecting similar but different outcomes.

Tukamon and Moki, located in the northern part of the island, are now both ruled by the Spirit Lizards, but this was not always the case. Tukamon was originally controlled by the Ancient Blood Warriors, while Moki had long been occupied by the Spirit Lizard forces. The two sides face each other across the mountains, constantly teetering between conflict and compromise, barely maintaining a fragile and dangerous balance.

This balance was shattered by the arrival of the Zhar Dwarf Expedition. Tukamon's ancient blood warriors led their army to confront the expedition head-on and eventually repelled it, but the victory itself nearly exhausted everything; the city's defenses were severely damaged, and the defenders suffered heavy casualties.

Moki's spirit lizards did not miss this opportunity. Led by the ancient giant lizard Kanzuyori, the mixed force of spirit lizards and giant lizards charged into Tucamon's still-unrepaired and broken defensive line.

In the end, Kanzuyori killed the ancient blood warrior who had been wounded while fighting the Zar dwarves, at the cost of almost mutual destruction.

However, the battle did not end there. By this time, Moki's side was also exhausted, unable to consolidate their gains, and was ultimately driven out of Tukamon.

They didn't achieve a complete victory, but they did achieve a decisive one. Furthermore, the lizard priests who were originally responsible for maintaining Tukamon's operations chose to betray them at the most crucial moment, leading the local lizards to retreat with the Moki forces.

When the dust settled, all that remained of Tucamon City were dilapidated fortifications and a group of lizardmen who had lost their leader and were in chaos.

After the complete collapse of order and the depletion of resources within the city, these lizardmen gradually degenerated into wild beasts. Forced to venture into the jungle to hunt, they were repeatedly ambushed and hunted, ultimately either perishing or scattering into lonely and dangerous predators, barely surviving in the shadows.

Renn deduced that it all began fifteen years ago. And the Spirit Lizards completely took over Tucamon ten years ago.

The lizard priest who chose to betray them was quite young, belonging to the new generation. It was precisely because of this crucial betrayal that he became the only lizard priest in the lizardman ruling system who was not executed by Master Hui.

However, Raine's focus was not on that, but on the Zar dwarf expedition. He believed that the expedition's appearance on the Dragon Isles was closely related to the red dragon's raid on Zar Nagrund more than fifty years ago and the rescue of Hibchad.

Clearly, the raid caused severe damage and internal strife to the dwarven city-states, forcing the expedition to plunder slaves to replenish their labor and resources. Ultimately, they set their sights on the Dragon Islands, and not just once.

This foreign force inadvertently stirred up the political situation of the entire archipelago, leaving behind a series of chain reactions that are still unfolding today.

Of course, the outsiders who rashly entered this place were not only the Tyrell adventure ship and the Zhar dwarf expedition, but also adventurers from Nebon. Through his conversation with the spirit lizard, Raine learned that the bird ships he saw in Casabe were originally provided by the Moki forces and were later copied by Casabe.

The two places have maintained long-term contact and exchanged goods via sea routes.

According to the Lizardmen's long-term plan, they intend to first conquer Huzuma and establish Asylum Island as a secure rear base; then advance on Oka, the southernmost point of Kotan Island, to completely control both islands; and finally, cooperate with the Lizardmen's resistance on Hosamur Island to completely reverse the power structure of the entire archipelago.

The ruler of Oka was named Nobraka, known for his ruthlessness. He fought riding a cold lizard and commanded a warband of up to four hundred cold lizards. Ultimately, he and the spirit lizard priest responsible for maintaining Oka were executed by Master Hui.

He was the only Ancient Blood Warrior to be executed.

The reason is simple, and extremely cruel.

He fed the cold lizards with spirit lizards.

After a rough estimate, Renn determined that the lizardmen forces operating on the Dragon Islands, once consolidated, were quite large. There were nearly 20,000 lizardmen, approximately 45,000 spirit lizards, and over 1,000 giant lizards.

But at this moment, his mind was not on these cold, hard numbers.

He was riding on the back of a Dilophosaurus, pen in one hand and steadying an open notebook with the other. The pen flew across the pages, drawing, sketching, and marking, the lines layered upon layered. His body swayed slightly with the rise and fall of the Dilophosaurus, but his mind was completely absorbed in the deduction, his brow furrowed, his eyes focused almost obliviously.

He attempted to connect the Sky Network with the newly discovered Echo Network based on the contents of the stone tablets he had previously seen on Death Island, and further deduce what the overall structure and appearance would look like if these three were combined.

He was just so curious.

On the other hand, he was also using this highly focused deduction to suppress the surging excitement in his heart, keeping his thoughts on the track of "complex problems".

He discovered another system in Oca, known as the "Echo Network".

It was also a gift from the ancient saint Zorok.

The field and characteristic of "precision" has once again been clearly and calmly reproduced on the Echo Network.

The Celestial Light Network is a core structure built on top of spiritual vein nodes, serving as the core for energy extraction, conversion, and transmission...

Like the Celestial Network, the Echo Network is also built upon spiritual vein nodes. However, unlike the Celestial Network, it is not an energy system, but a communication system.

If the energy-conducting spire is like the heart and blood vessels that transport blood, then this system is more like the brain and neural network that transmits nerve signals.
The reverberation network itself is a natural and stable energy frequency generator and resonant cavity. It can propagate encoded information, carrying it on the fundamental energy flow in an extremely subtle way, as an energy perturbation.

Ryan lowered his head and sketched for a moment, his handwriting gradually becoming smooth and confident, and he roughly understood.

The echo network device should be nested on top of the skylight network structure.

In other words, an additional set of auxiliary facilities is built on the basic framework of the energy guiding tower to receive, transmit, and capture information-carrying harmonic signals from other nodes or portable terminals.

Amplify, purify, and enhance signal strength, while filtering background noise, such as chaotic contamination or energy disturbances caused by geographical changes.

Path calculation selects the optimal transmission path for information packets based on the real-time status of each node, bypassing congested or contaminated areas.

then……

There's no after that.

The contents of the stone tablet are clearly incomplete, or rather, the system was designed to be so streamlined. There is no hub, no terminal; all functions are compressed to the bare minimum, yet it remains self-consistent and complete.

At that moment, Renn suddenly felt a strange pull.

The feeling came without warning, as if something was silently calling him to look up. His thoughts were gently tugged, and the tip of his pen stopped on the page, leaving an unfinished line.

So he raised his head.

The next moment, he froze.

Unbeknownst to me, a thin layer of green mist had enveloped us. The mist wasn't thick, yet it subtly refracted the light, giving the air an unreal hue. The silhouettes of the trees swayed gently in the mist, their branches and leaves undulating as if they were breathing slowly.

The world is unusually quiet.
