A day at Hogwarts.
Chapter 559 The Fairy's Battle
Chapter 559 The Fairy's Battle
Charles walked alone on a secluded path outside Hogsmeade Village. The night sky was dark, there was no moon, and the sparse starlight barely outlined the road and the blurry contours of the bushes on both sides.
The gravel under his feet made a slight crunching sound under his boots, and all around was silent except for the faint sound of the wind.
The footsteps disappeared.
Charles stopped, raised his hand to adjust his glasses, and keenly caught the extremely faint sound of metal scraping against the ground coming from behind and to both sides.
Fourteen pairs of eyes emitting a dark red light appeared in the night, and fairies silently emerged from the darkness on both sides of the road, surrounding him.
The old goblin directly in front of him was dressed in full armor, wearing a helmet, and leaning on a one-handed hammer, his red eyes staring straight at Charles.
In the distance, a fairy stood at each of the four corners, their dark clothes and the magic crossbows in their hands emitting an eerie red light.
Closer by, there were also four fairies forming a square encirclement. They were wearing dark cloaks and were not carrying anything, but they seemed to be wearing gloves or similar equipment.
Closest to Charles were five fairies wearing berets, each holding a sword in one hand, the blades occasionally flashing with a dark red light.
Their steps were steady and their movements were synchronized, forming a tight encirclement that completely blocked all possible escape routes for Charles.
The cold armor occasionally reflected a chilling glint in the faint starlight, and the eyes beneath the helmet gleamed with an inhuman, cruel red light in the darkness, fixed intently on Charles. There were no words, only the heavy feeling of weapons poised to be drawn and the subtle metallic clanging of the armor as it moved.
Malajak paused with the hammer in his hand, and said in the tone of a receptionist at Gringotts, "Mr. Smith, on behalf of Gringotts, I would like to invite you to be my guest."
Although he tried to suppress it, his words revealed a coldness and an unyielding attitude.
Something long and faintly reflected a silvery light slipped out of Charles's right sleeve.
The fairies were astonished; it wasn't a magic wand, but a cold saber.
Weapons made by fairies.
They quickly recognized the origin of the saber in Charles's hand.
“I don’t like killing.” Charles’s voice was as cold as liquid helium. “If you leave now, I can pretend nothing happened.”
As the green flames lit up behind them, there was no room for maneuver for either side, but they still had to exchange pleasantries.
Malajak raised his hammer, saying with regret and cruelty, "We can only warmly invite you to Gringotts."
These were his last words.
Three beret-wearing fairies wielding twin swords pounced on Charles from the left, right, and rear at top speed. A cloaked fairy's hands glowed red as she prepared to cast a spell, while a fairy with a crossbow in the distance was ready to block his escape route.
A flash of silver light streaked across the gap between the helmet and armor, and Malajak's head detached from his body, his eyes not even having time to show surprise.
Without the sight or sound of an Apparition user shrinking into a ball, Charles appeared instantly behind Malajak without warning. No goblins could react in time, and even Gronk's crystal ball lost track of its target.
Charles used the teleportation technique he learned from stick figure paintings, instantly reaching any place his gaze could see. After slashing the knife, the saber with the magic wand inserted inside was swung up again.
The fairies, panicked by the killing of Malajak, suddenly collapsed en masse, their bodies seemingly weighed down by the Benning Mountains, pressed to the ground by gravity and unable to move, all their attacks rendered futile.
Charles strolled over to the goblin and, with a series of swift strokes, chopped off all the heads on the ground in a short time.
Gronook felt as if he had fallen into an ice cave, every cell in his body trembling, as if a giant hand was gripping his throat, watching helplessly as Charles chopped off the goblin's head as if picking a pumpkin from a field.
Finally, Charles looked up at the night sky and met Gronook's eyes once again in the Pig's Head pub.
After emitting a golden light, the crystal ball turned into dust, which spread out on the table like a small mountain.
This small hill, like the Gran Flat Mountain Range, weighed heavily on Gronouk's heart, making it hard for him to breathe.
He was thinking about getting to the scene and notifying everyone to stop and retreat immediately, but his legs wouldn't obey him and were firmly rooted to the floor.
Charles walked back to Malajak's body, picked up his hand and examined it closely. He saw that his left hand was covered with rings, so he took one off and put on a ring with the Lestrange family crest.
At this moment, almost all the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw students at Hogwarts were gathered at the windowsills of the tower, discussing the towering flames of Hogsmeade and Falbatton Castle to the east.
Several figures quietly slipped out of the Gryffindor common room, but before they could take two steps, they were blocked in the corridor by Professor McGonagall, whose face was ashen.
“Dumbledore is gone,” Professor McGonagall said to Harry and the others. “You should all go back to the common room now.”
“For every word you say before returning to the common room, Gryffindor will lose one point.”
Harry was about to argue when Hermione covered his mouth and dragged him away.
The laptops were still working properly, and new message notifications were constantly ringing in the common lounge.
Simo immediately contacted his mother and soon received a lot of inside information.
Ginny was reading a message from her mother: "Percy said Apparition is not working around Hogsmeade, and the Aurors are running there."
Dean, having no wizards to gather information from, immediately asked, "Who did this?"
At this moment, Seamus exclaimed, "Oh no! A goblin has attacked Professor Dumbledore!"
The 19th-hand message quickly appeared in other people's communication notebooks.
Some say Dumbledore killed him on the spot, others say the goblin's sword only cut off his beard, and still others swear he was taken to St. Mungo's Hospital with a crossbow bolt stuck in his forehead. Lavender has new information: "Professor Dumbledore was seriously injured protecting Lady Partridge!"
Hermione asked anxiously, "Is there any news about Charles?!"
All shook their heads.
Meanwhile, in an alley near the ruins of the Dancing Grass Restaurant, Dumbledore was grabbing Grindelwald by the collar and roaring, "Is this your plan?!"
Grindelwald said with a grim face, "I live in the Pig's Head Bar. If I hadn't arrived in time, I could be the owner."
Dumbledore couldn't find his hiding place, only to discover that it was right under his nose.
Grindelwald continued, "Just now, a goblin tried to assassinate the witch who runs the teahouse with a crossbow. Aberforth stood in front of him, and I only managed to stop the crossbow bolts slightly. He was still slightly injured and has now been taken to the hospital."
“I killed them all, eleven of them.”
Dumbledore was slightly relieved to hear that Aberforth had been taken to the hospital, and immediately asked, "Have you seen Charles?"
Grind shook his head.
Dumbledore immediately said, "Go to Farbatton Castle first."
Grindelwald looked at the towering flames in the east, and after a moment of silence said, "If Charles were alright, he would have escaped by now."
"If we hadn't escaped, it would be too late to go now."
Dumbledore's heart sank.
A series of screams and cries of agony came from not far away.
Ambrosius Froome and the other wizards had just demolished the buildings on both sides of the fire to prevent it from spreading when a dark figure suddenly appeared in front of him and kicked him away.
He saw a ferocious demon raising a red-glowing sword and thrusting it towards his chest, and his consciousness went into a revolving loop.
Froome recalled that when he was serving his first customer at Honeydukes, a spell was shot at him from the side, which the fairy immediately blocked with her sword.
The sword was knocked away and stuck in the ground, and the fairy took the opportunity to disappear from the spot.
Froome wasn't the only one who had the same experience; they all had one thing in common: they were all owners of Hogsmeade.
Fortunately, Dumbledore arrived in time to save Froome, and the other goblins immediately fled.
Meanwhile, a fierce battle is taking place inside Farbatton Castle.
In the passage leading to the vault, a green light flashed, and yet another fairy collapsed heavily to the ground.
Jin Huan's heart was heavy.
There were 45 fairies on my side. A few of them went around to set small fires to attract the attention of the others in the castle. I was specifically instructed not to set the fires too big so that they wouldn't be unable to evacuate. The main force headed straight for the vault. A dozen or so of them were experts at cracking the vault, and the rest were combatants.
But to their utter surprise, an unexpected wizard appeared in the passage, blocking all their fairies.
The fact that Karkaroff was able to become the principal of Durmstrang shows that he is quite capable. Although he has been working as a researcher here since last Christmas, his skills have not been affected.
He wanted to go to the canteen for a late-night snack, but unexpectedly, the castle caught fire, and a large group of fully armed goblins rushed over shouting and killing.
If they can't handle Dumbledore and Grindelwald, how can they not handle the goblins?
Karkaroff started with the Avada Kedavra curse, and the goblin in the lead immediately pounced, after which the two began to fight.
Although the fairies were numerous, they couldn't maneuver freely in the passage. Karkaroff retreated to a corner and killed as many as they came.
Jin Huan estimated that time was running out, so she turned to the expert behind her and said, "Break through the wall and get behind him."
The passage in the wall quickly opened, and several fully armed fairies launched a surprise attack from behind.
Karkaroff killed two people, and suddenly saw someone emerge from the end of the passage.
Before he could ask for help, the other party raised his hand and shot out a paralysis spell.
The fairies seized the opportunity and swarmed forward, hacking Karkaroff to death with a flurry of swords.
Just as Jin Huan was about to lead the fairy over, a red light suddenly appeared behind her, making her feel a little confused. A red mark appeared above her head.
He recalled a legend about fairies...
Before he could finish his bizarre thought, a rainbow of light flashed before his eyes.
Charles walked over to the Gold Ring, looked at his gold earrings, carefully removed them, and put on a beautiful pair of earrings with the Malfoy family crest on the inside.
On the other side, the Death Eater infiltrator, having avenged his great grudge, picked up Karkaroff's right hand, gripped his wand tightly, and sent a signal to the Dark Mark on Karkaroff's left hand, which was not quite dead:
"The one who will kill me is a demon!"
