A day at Hogwarts.
Chapter 563 "I Have a Grandson"
Chapter 563 "I Have a Grandson"
As night deepened, Gabrielle's pitiful cries could not be heard from the cabin, while Ruby huddled in the corner, trembling.
Before Gabrielle left with Ruby, she left a note at home saying "I'm going to find Charles," which was followed by a beating from her mother and grandmother.
Charles went up to try and calm things down, but he also got thrown on the table and beaten up, which turned into a chorus.
After the three of them returned home, Ruby hopped to the table, stretched out her wings, gently patted Charles's head, and went to open the refrigerator to fetch him a bottle of soda.
There were plenty of desserts in the refrigerator, which it naturally accepted without hesitation.
The news of Charles's presence did not leak out, and no one suddenly appeared, grabbed him by the ear, and demanded an explanation.
He stayed there and practiced his spells every day.
That day, he and Ruby were having cheese fondue. He was feeding Phoenix a piece of carrot with a fork, dipping it in melted cheese, when the old man's voice came from the radio next to them.
“Today, I stand here, before the halls of the International Wizarding Federation, under the gaze of the entire wizarding world, not to recount ancient magical mysteries, nor to debate the past between wizards and Muggles. I stand here for a child, my child, my grandson, Charles Smith.”
"Fifteen years ago, I heard a faint cry beside a pile of garbage that reeked of despair—a cry weaker than that of a newborn kitten. Right there, in a cold, rotten tin garbage can, I found him, an abandoned baby wrapped in tattered newspaper. His eyes, like the purest obsidian, reflected the only dim streetlamp in the alley."
“I picked him up and took him home. He became my light, my hope, the most precious gift I unexpectedly received at the end of this long and tiring journey of life.”
"I watched him babble, watched him leap up into the trees, watched him enter Hogwarts and become the pride of Gryffindor. His wisdom, his kindness, his respect for centaurs and elves—no, for all life—filled this old man with an unprecedented sense of pride. He opened the restaurant not for Galleons, but to let the world taste different kinds of magic, to let those elves, who were seen as mere tools, stand tall, receive their pay, and have holidays! He and his friends researched communication notebooks and delicious tablecloths to make everyone's life more convenient and efficient! He was just a child, a child who wanted to make the world a better place!"
"But where is our Charles today?"
"Hogsmeade, a beautiful village that left me with countless wonderful memories. Although I encountered a little trouble the first time I went, there is no trouble that magic cannot solve, and friendship is the most powerful magic!"
"Just recently, on that night that should have been filled with laughter and joy in Hogsmeade, a group of goblins clad in cold armor and wielding sharp blades pounced on him from the shadows like the most vile rats! They burned down the Dancing Grass Restaurant, which he had painstakingly cultivated, and the flames even engulfed the innocent Lady Patiff's Tea House! They reduced Falcatedon Castle, which he had poured countless dreams into and was under renovation, to ashes, and the green flames, like their twisted malice, shrouded the night sky of Hogsmeade!"
"Mr. Karkaroff is a respectable man. No matter what evil things he has done in the past, I believe that he was a hero when he stood up to stop the goblin."
“(The ring’s sinister, threatening voice) I’m worried that a dark wizard might use this treasure vault against Farbatton Castle.”
"Charles, a kid who just turned fifteen this summer, what did he do in the face of the threat? He simply challenged Gringotts' arrogant arrogance with his actions, proving with a banner that the goblins' claim of 'absolute safety' was a joke. Speaking with facts in the game, is that his 'crime'?"
"In the eyes of fairies, is the life of a young wizard, the business he has painstakingly built, and the little bit of goodwill and change he has brought to this magical world so insignificant? Can they be trampled, burned, and erased at will by their rage and swords?!"
"This isn't just an attack on Charles! This is a trampling of the law, order, and the most basic dignity of life! If Gringotts goblins can take lynching measures against a child, burn down shops, and even make him 'disappear' simply because their so-called 'dignity' has been offended, then tomorrow, anyone—wizard or Muggle—anyone who dares to say 'no' to them could become the next target! Where is our safety? Where is our dignity?!"
Charles listened quietly to the old man's speech, constantly using his fork to pick up pieces of toast, apple, and potato, dipping them in the cheese, taking a bite of Ruby, then a bite of himself, eating slowly.
I don't know what Grindelwald did to get a "Muggle" to give a speech at the International Wizarding Federation. Today's speech can be seen as a declaration of war against the goblins.
This put Charles in a bit of a dilemma. He was playing his own game, and it seemed a little inappropriate for him to be eating hot pot and singing like this.
So, should we go all the way with this act?
Charles was lost in thought about the matter, and a piece of ham dipped in cheese almost got stuck in Ruby's nostril.
This little problem is no challenge for it; it's just a matter of tilting its head.
After finishing the hotpot, Charles began to think about a more advanced question: what benefits would he gain if he were to get involved and participate fully?
This is a very real problem. This is a very dangerous thing. If you are not careful, you may be finished. It needs to be high-return.
The problem is we have enough money now, but magic...
Charles stroked his chin and began to think, as if playing the victim would help shape his image.
A wizard who refuses to yield to the threats and torment of fairies seems quite impressive.
The question is, is there a way to have the best of both worlds: I want to drive a Land Rover, but I'm afraid of the hardships involved?
More importantly, how to cooperate well with the old man and the others. If things go wrong and he is really locked up in some extremely hidden place by the goblins, and he still hasn't escaped by the time Harry has a child named "Charles Dobby Potter", then he's really doomed.
A bottle of soda to refresh his mind, Charles's eyes lit up, and he came up with a great idea.
It's not enough for me to get caught myself; I also need to find some people to incite their hatred for demons so that the work can proceed.
A plan to go with the flow quickly took shape in his mind, and then the old man would be busy too.
