A day at Hogwarts.
Chapter 638 Outrageous Educational Order
Chapter 638 Outrageous Educational Order
"Charles really has a gift for prophecy!"
"Yes!"
Professor Sprout and Professor Flitwick looked at each other in front of the bulletin board.
Professor McGonagall immediately asked, "What prophecy did Charles make this time?"
Filch, who had just hung up the latest Education Decree, also perked up his ears, very curious about the topic.
After all, Charles predicted that Snape's house would be bombed.
Professor Flitwick said, "Last night, when Charles treated us to a late-night snack, he mentioned that Umbridge would prohibit boys and girls from standing less than six inches apart."
The students who were having breakfast quickly came to the bulletin board and exclaimed in surprise when they saw the latest education order.
Those in relationships, in particular, screamed even more vehemently.
"No more than six inches between boys and girls," Harry read aloud, his mouth agape in surprise. "Is she crazy?"
Ginny leaned closer to look at the rule, while Redhead almost brushed against Harry's shoulder. She held up her hand to measure the length and said sarcastically, "How are you going to measure it? Does everyone have to carry a ruler with them?"
“Perhaps Umbridge will hand out pink rulers for free,” Harry sneered, “one for each person to wear around their necks.”
They didn't notice that an arrogant figure was quietly approaching.
Draco Malfoy's prefecture badge gleamed, and an unpleasant, fake smile played on his lips.
“Looks like someone’s openly defying the education order, Potter,” Malfoy drawled. “You’re clearly less than six inches from the Weasley girl. Ten points deducted from Gryffindor.”
Harry whirled around and snapped, “What nonsense are you spouting, Malfoy?”
“Education Order No. 26,” Malfoy said smugly, pointing to the parchment on the bulletin board, ““Requires male and female students to maintain an appropriate distance.”
"What I've seen is enough to deduct points from Gryffindor's record; perhaps they should also be put in solitary confinement."
Ginny turned around, her eyes narrowing dangerously, and said expressionlessly, "You're just looking for an excuse to get revenge on Harry!"
“Oh, look,” Malfoy’s smile widened, “Now you two are glued together, even closer together, how about deducting another five points?”
Just as Malfoy reached out to wave his wand to collect the deduction, a voice came from behind him: "I advise you not to do that, Malfoy."
Charles appeared out of nowhere, casually placing a hand on Malfoy's shoulder, the hand holding his wand, a lazy smile on his face, but his eyes were hostile.
Malfoy froze, too afraid to move, and asked nervously, "What do you want to do?"
He knew very well that his status as a prefect was of no use to Charles; the latter didn't care about such things.
In his view, Charles could easily gain power above that of the prefect if he so desired.
Charles said softly, “I was thinking that if you insist on following this lovely rule, perhaps I should help you understand it more personally.”
He casually waved the tip of his wand in front of Malfoy, and a sharp knife appeared at the tip. He continued, "For example, if you suddenly turned into a girl, according to the Educational Decree, you would have to keep a six-inch distance from Potter."
"Of course I can help tie you together and stick you together all day long."
"How about it?"
Harry's expression immediately turned to horror, and he hurriedly said, "Wait, why me?"
He felt that Charles was capable of doing something like that.
Ginny was laughing so hard she was doubled over, attracting curious glances from the surrounding students.
Malfoy's face went from white to red to green, as if he had been cursed with a color-changing spell. "You can't do this," Malfoy hissed, a hint of fear in his voice, "My father..."
He couldn't continue. In terms of family connections, he knew he couldn't possibly compete with Charles.
Charles simply gave a cold laugh, which made Malfoy shudder.
Malfoy opened his mouth as if to say something, but in the end he could only say helplessly, "I haven't seen anyone from the Potters or the Weasleys this morning."
After Charles let Malfoy leave,
Harry looked at him sullenly and said again, "Why is it always me?"
Why are you dragging me into your threats?
Charles shrugged innocently and said, "There has to be a boy to set an example, and you're right in front of us."
Ginny was still laughing, tears streaming down her face, and said, "Oh, imagine Malfoy as a girl... Hahahaha!"
That evening, the Gryffindor common room was packed with students.
The crackling fire in the fireplace cast warm light on every anxious face.
“This is absolutely the most outrageous educational decree ever,” Hermione exclaimed, pacing excitedly in front of the fireplace. “It’s more absurd than all of Umbridge’s previous decrees combined!”
"How does this work?" a third-grade girl asked, puzzled. "Does it mean that every time a boy and a girl talk, they have to measure the distance beforehand?"
“Pee-pee has been flying around the corridor all day, holding two rulers and shouting ‘Time to measure distance!’” Seamus added, eliciting a helpless chuckle.
Ron remained unusually quiet in the corner, staring at the fire with a dejected expression.
"Sigh..." He let out a long sigh.
“Ron?” Hermione finally noticed his odd behavior. “Do you know something?”
All eyes turned to Ron, causing him to shift uncomfortably in his chair: "I...I think I know the reason behind this educational order."
The area around the fireplace immediately fell silent.
“Last night,” Ron said dejectedly, “Pedro and Gerald got into another fight. Near the North Tower.”
A muffled murmur of understanding filled the room. It was common knowledge in Gryffindor that the two third-year students had fought over a girl.
They were playing in the common room not long ago, and now they're playing outside. I'm afraid they'll have to play in the principal's office next.
"And then?" Harry urged.
“Then Umbridge happened to pass by,” Ron said with a grimace. “She saw the two of them fighting and said, ‘Impurity between male and female students leads to disciplinary indiscipline and moral decay,’ and issued this educational decree this morning.”
A chorus of groans erupted in the common room.
"Just because of those two idiots?" a seventh-grader asked incredulously.
"So we're all going to be punished?" another girl added angrily.
Ron just shrugged helplessly, the firelight dancing on his face, reflecting his deep frustration.
He's been busy day and night lately, trying to resolve the feud between Gerrard and Pedro.
However, plans can't keep up with changes. Not only did they start fighting again, but Umbridge witnessed it and used it as a basis to issue an outrageous educational decree.
