A day at Hogwarts.

Chapter 645 Just sign it.

Chapter 645 Just sign it.

The door to the Requirement Room closed silently and disappeared behind the last lingering audience member, and the corridor returned to silence, with only the flickering firelight on the walls.

As several students walked down the stairs, they excitedly gestured and argued about the most exciting moment in the cage. Their footsteps and laughter gradually faded and eventually disappeared in the castle.

Hermione walked down the cold corridor, her brow furrowed, her fingers unconsciously twisting the hem of her robe, her mind replaying the scenes from just moments before.

"No, that's not right at all."

But a deep sense of powerlessness enveloped her, and she felt worried about the future.

When Hermione came to her senses, she found herself standing with Charles on an automatically ascending spiral staircase, at the small tower where he conducted his long-term alchemical experiments.

She sensed that Charles had something to say, so she followed his instructions and sat on the sofa, watching him go to the cabinet to get something.

“Sign this document,” Charles’s voice broke the silence.

He gently placed a brand-new parchment on the coffee table in front of Hermione, his tone gentle and his expression earnest.

"What is this?" Hermione immediately became alert, leaning back slightly to try and move away from the parchment.

Her gaze, like two sharp daggers, swept swiftly across the surface of the parchment, as if checking for any curses or traps attached to it.

She wouldn't dare sign anything handed to her by others easily; there had been cases in the Daily Prophet where documents were shrouded in confusion spells, making everything she saw appear fake.

"Don't be nervous, it's a good thing." Charles smiled faintly, trying to ease the tension.

Hermione had known this guy for many years, which only made her more wary.

"Could it be..." She narrowed her eyes, drew her wand, and said in a defiant tone, "that you're going to give me all your possessions unconditionally?"

Hermione decided to get to the bottom of things first, and not fall into a trap easily. She unconsciously tightened her grip on her wand.

Although she believed deep down that Charles wouldn't harm her on matters of principle, she couldn't trust him on certain things, such as whether or not she could eat sweets.

Charles's knowledge was too bizarre for Hermione; he always managed to catch her off guard with his little tricks.

Charles shrugged, chuckled, and shook his head, saying, "When did you get the idea that I have a lot of property under my name?"

To avoid trouble from goblins and Voldemort, he now doesn't even have a wand under his name, and there's not a single flaw in his paperwork.

He continued to Hermione, "This is an application for the Hogwarts Students' Club, which I think is perfect for you."

Hermione's doubts lessened slightly, but her caution remained.

Putting aside the outrageous speculation about the property transfer, she sat up straight, placed her hands neatly folded on her knees, adopting a posture of attentive listening and conversation, and asked with a frown, "What club is it?"

The clubs at Hogwarts were diverse, not to mention the Painting Society where Charles belonged, there were also organizations like the Gobstone Club and the Cursed Club, but she always felt that these clubs were either too casual or didn't quite fit her personality of pursuing rigorous academics and practical benefits.

Charles pronounced the four letters "SPEW" clearly.

The abbreviation struck Hermione like a bolt of lightning.

She almost jumped up from her chair, her heart pounding, and her face instantly lit up with an incredulous yet expectant glow.

SPEW – Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare!
This is the organization she has always longed for, but has been unable to officially register due to insufficient members, just like Ron's Octagon, which is in an illegal state.

Hermione had been trying to persuade Charles to participate, but she ran into a snag at first. Later, she discovered that his and Dobby's scheme was different from what she had envisioned, so she decided to put the matter on hold for now and work on it properly. In her excitement, Hermione immediately picked up the parchment. The parchment was very new, and the ink smelled of moth repellent.

She carefully tapped the paper with the tip of her wand to make sure there were no prank spells attached before reading it word by word.

As she read deeper, her brows sometimes relaxed with anticipation and sometimes furrowed with confusion.

However, in less than two minutes, the excitement on her face vanished like a flame extinguished by cold water, replaced by a strange and disappointed expression.

Hermione looked up at Charles, puzzled, her lips pursed in a wronged manner.

"What is this?" she asked, waving the parchment in her hand, her voice filled with displeasure at being mocked.

The title at the top of the document reads clearly: Scholastic Progress & Enrichment Workshop.

Although the organization's abbreviation is also SPEW, it's completely contrary to what she expected.

“Symposium on Academic Progress and Enhancement,” Charles repeated solemnly, his tone calm and even. “The abbreviation just happens to be SPEW.”

"Its purpose, as I mentioned to you a few days ago, is to organize a tutoring program to help students in need achieve better results in the OWLs and NEWTs exams, and even the monthly exams."

Hermione quickly scanned the document again, and after confirming that everything was correct, she gave Charles a disgruntled look, her eyes clearly saying: You're messing with me.

She put down the parchment, sighed deeply, her shoulders slumped, and she felt a wave of exhaustion.

If it were someone else, they would have already smashed them with a magic wand.

"Why me?" she asked, a hint of barely perceptible satisfaction in her voice. "There are plenty of people at the school who could do this job, aren't there?"

She is confident in her learning ability, but that confidence is more directed towards students in the same grade or lower grades.

She couldn't help but feel a little unsure of herself when faced with older students who needed tutoring in NEWTs-level courses.

More importantly, once she signed her name, she was no longer an ordinary participant, but an initiator and main person in charge. This meant enormous responsibility and pressure, completely different from her previous state of simply pursuing academic research.

“Because we trust you,” Charles replied simply and directly.

Under Hermione's probing gaze, he added, "This 'we' includes not only me, but also Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall, who both believe you are the most suitable candidate."

He paused, a mysterious smile on his face, and said, "Moreover, this will also greatly benefit you."

"When you try to explain knowledge clearly to others, you will experience a profound reconstruction of knowledge."

"You are no longer just recalling scattered points, but you must sort out the logic, build a framework, and anticipate questions—this process will force you to discover those areas that you were originally vague or only partially aware of."

"It's like trying to explain a magic puzzle to someone. You suddenly realize that you've just memorized a certain step, but you can't explain the underlying principle. So you have to go back and study it until you truly understand it."

"Teaching and learning complement each other, precisely because teaching is the best form of learning."

"It transforms you from a passive receiver into an active organizer and outputter, allowing knowledge to be truly internalized through explanation, elevating it from memorization to mastery."

Hermione was somewhat at a loss for words when it came to Charles's long-winded reasoning, but after listening to it and thinking about it carefully, she realized it made a lot of sense.

"Alright then," Hermione finally agreed.
