A day at Hogwarts.

Chapter 652 Weekend Invitation

Chapter 652 Weekend Invitation

Seamus pushed open the bedroom door, heard a snoring sound, and saw Charles asleep on the bed, his shoes still on.

After he finished his business and was getting ready for bed, Dobby came over, changed Charles into pajamas, and put him in the warm bed.

Since Charles was already asleep, Dobby's late-night snack was divided between Seamus and Ruby.

Silent all night.

The next morning, Charles looked rather tired when he got up.

Simo asked him, "You've looked very tired these past few days?"

Charles, still dressed, said, "I underestimated the difficulty of some magic."

"Giving a magic model the ability to learn is not so simple; giving it the ability to feel emotions is even more difficult."

Simo only knew that he had been tinkering with a large magical model recently, but he could understand the words individually, but when put together, his eyes rolled.

"I wish I could understand what you're saying."

Simo gave up thinking.

While they were downstairs for breakfast, Harry suddenly rushed up to Charles, put his arm around his shoulder, and asked mysteriously, "I heard your company has a big deal this weekend?"

Charles frowned and asked, "What does this have to do with you?"

There are big deals, and they are exemplary and model projects, which he and his company employees attach great importance to.

But Harry is an outsider, why would he ask?
Harry was startled by his gaze, shrank back, and said, "Sirius told me they have a project at the Ministry of Magic this weekend, and he wants me to come along so I can broaden my horizons."

The story is quite simple. Last night, Harry complained to Black that he couldn't leave the castle during the next Hogsmeade Week, so Black came up with an idea to have him come out and work for the Ministry of Magic with his company over the weekend.

Charles glanced at him expressionlessly and said, "If you can get the professors to agree to let you go, and Blake can get Jeff to agree to take you along, then I have no problem."

At Hogwarts, good students have special privileges behind the scenes, and Charles is a beneficiary of this.

The problem is, Harry doesn't seem like a good student; he even failed his monthly exam.

So, he'll have to do some work if he wants to leave Hogwarts for the weekend.

Before breakfast, Harry took out his communication notebook and sent a message.

After breakfast, an owl flew down to Professor McGonagall.

After Transfiguration class that day, Charles was stopped by Professor McGonagall.

“What’s going on?” Professor McGonagall pushed a piece of parchment in front of Charles. “Black said that your company has a work-study program, and Potter meets the requirements, so he applied to have him work at the Ministry of Magic on weekends.”

Charles picked up the parchment and looked at it, then was speechless.

There was a work-study program at Farbatton Castle, but it was just a front, set up for ease of management and to avoid potential trouble. Only Charles and Gabrielle participated.

Now, after some tinkering by Black, Harry has been added to the cast.

Charles shrugged and said, "While I don't know the details, I know Blake's purpose."

"Harry failed his Potions class this month and can't go to Hogsmeade, so Black came up with this idea to take him there to clear his head."

Professor McGonagall sighed helplessly upon hearing this.

She whispered to Charles, "There's something I think I should tell you, but you shouldn't tell Harry."

"Harry's failure in Potions was at Dumbledore's behest, Snape did." "The current movements of the mysterious man are... very strange. Dumbledore is worried that he might take advantage of Hogsmeade Week to harm Harry, so it's not advisable for him to leave Hogwarts."

Charles thought there was some truth to that, but still said, "I don't think Harry will stay at Hogwarts."

Professor McGonagall also knew that there was a secret passage between the castle and the village, and thought that it was not impossible for Harry to escape through the secret passage.

“I understand,” she said. “I’ll talk to Albus.”

Charles sensed that Professor McGonagall probably didn't approve of Dumbledore's approach either, but had only been persuaded temporarily and now wanted to find someone to help Dumbledore retract his decision.

“Professor,” Charles said, “this weekend, the security system our company made for the Ministry of Magic will be officially installed. This is what Black was talking about, and I’m going to see it in person.”

That day happened to be the weekend at Hogsmeade, so he could go there directly, but it would be best to report to the headmaster before leaving Hogsmeade.

Professor McGonagall readily agreed.

She looked Charles over carefully and asked, "You look very tired?"

Charles said, just as he did this morning, "I underestimated the difficulty of the big magic model; the learning and emotional functions are a bit of a problem."

"I tried to use the Sorting Hat as a reference last night, as it was the only finished product that matched my requirements, but Professor Dumbledore kicked me out of his office."

Professor McGonagall was at a loss for words.

However, she could imagine that at that time, Dumbledore must have been so angry that his beard would have stood on end.

After saying this, Charles went to his next class, while Professor McGonagall went to the principal's office to talk about what had just happened.

"Stop!" Dumbledore gestured to stop Professor McGonagall from approaching from his office. "Minerva, if you really are Minerva, then answer one question for me!"

Professor McGonagall asked, puzzled, "Albus, did you drink during work hours?"

Dumbledore said seriously, "Yesterday Charles tried to take the Sorting Hat, which I didn't allow, and now I'm worried he'll try to steal it."

Professor McGonagall said helplessly, "Why don't you just put the Sorting Hat in that box?"

As she spoke, she glanced at several boxes and cabinets that only Dumbledore could open, containing confidential documents and items.

Put the Sorting Hat inside, and no one, not even Charles, can open it.

Dumbledore suddenly tensed up and immediately said, "No, we can't put the Sorting Hat in those places. What's the difference between that and being in jail?"

Just then, the Sorting Hat, looking somewhat flustered, said from the shelf beside her, "No, no, it's alright, just put me in the box."

"I'll just consider it a nap. It's better than being used as a subject by some magical monster!"

Dumbledore shook his head and said, "No, you certainly don't like being in a box."

As she spoke, Professor McGonagall strode menacingly to the desk, glared at Dumbledore, and said coldly, "Albus, have you been hiding sweets in those places?!"

Dumbledore stiffened, then immediately shook his head in denial, saying, "How could that be? Do I look like the kind of person who would do such a thing?"

Now he was certain that the woman in front of him, Minerva, was not Charles in disguise.

Professor McGonagall would deal with him later, and in the meantime, she recounted all the issues she had discussed with Charles.

Dumbledore pondered for a moment, then said, "If it's with Black, that's not impossible."
