Deng!
The broken vajra nailed onto the phantom of Master Xinyuan's body, instantly knocking him out of his body.

The stupa immediately flew high up and covered it heavily!

The purple-gold Buddha light enveloped the shadow.

The shadow that exuded anger and demonic intent did not howl at all. Instead, it struggled even more furiously, and the stupa swayed left and right. He roared loudly:

"I will not become a Buddha until the world is empty!"

He had already entered Nirvana, but his evil thoughts still persisted. Now he just wanted to destroy all the people in the world and fulfill his last wish.

However, after leaving the physical body, the evil spirit in the chanting, although still powerful, no longer had the ability to resist the stupa, and its roar gradually weakened.

It was just a solid shadow, and under the Buddha's light, it was like boiling water being poured down, making a sizzling sound, but there was no intention of stopping.

The obsession was so deep that Wang Ba and Zhao Jie, who were flying over, both looked extremely solemn.

Zhao Jie stayed in Wang Ba's realm of Taoism and did not dare to come out. Although Xinyuan's evil thoughts were controlled, the terrifying suction force coming from Xinyuan Master's physical body showed no signs of stopping.

Wang Ba flew in front of the stupa and frowned slightly when he saw Xinyuan's determined evil thoughts.

Raise your fingers and count.

The fortune teller knows the causes and understands the consequences.

But compared to deducing the future, deducing the past is much easier.

Almost in an instant, his eyes flickered slightly.

Then he saw tiny holes floating like honeycombs in the cloudless sky.

Those were actually real membrane eyes.

It’s just that these real membrane eyes are so small that they don’t seem to attract anyone’s attention.

Only a trickle of water slowly flows out of these holes.

"Was this before the great flood?"

Wang Ba's heart moved.

The scene in front of my eyes suddenly flashed.

The densely packed tiny black holes no longer exist, replaced by a hole the size of a millstone.

A large amount of water poured down from it.

But still no one cares.

Although Wang Ba already knew the future outcome when he saw this scene, he still couldn't help but feel worried.

Soon, the entrance of the cave expanded rapidly, and one could vaguely see that there seemed to be some existence in the black hole that was constantly expanding the size of the entrance.

At this time, the water flow was already incredibly strong!

"It's the World Eater!"

Wang Ba's heart tightened, and a hint of realization flashed across his eyes.

He had been thinking that with the normal expansion speed of the real membrane eye, even if no one noticed Xitaozhou at the beginning, it would be enough for them to react and take timely measures.

Now it seems that it was the eaters from outside the world who discovered the real membrane eye here and suddenly accelerated the speed of expansion, which prevented the people of Xitaozhou from reacting in time.

At this moment, there was a flash before his eyes, and an old monk with white eyebrows and wearing a plain white checkered monk robe came walking on the sea. He seemed to have sensed something unusual, and flew out of the real membrane eye without hesitation.

The flood was like a mountain bursting out of the sea, endlessly surging.

Later, more monks came, but faced with the already huge membrane hole, they were all helpless. Some tried to fill it with their own bodies, but it was like a drop in the bucket.

Recalling what Ci Wu had said in the past, Wang Ba suddenly had a flash of enlightenment:
"Master Xinyuan went straight out of the realm... No wonder Ciwu said he was missing."

What happens next is easy to guess.

Xinyuan has not returned yet, and without a leader, people's hearts are in chaos. Some want to escape, while others find it difficult to let go, and the monks of Xitaozhou parted ways.

The following scenes also proved Wang Ba’s guess.

The monks who stayed behind tried to build large ships and instruments to store people, food, etc.

Perhaps it would not be difficult to save the people of one city or one country, but these monks were too greedy, or too compassionate, and they wanted to save all the people left in Xitaozhou.

Under normal circumstances, it is not impossible. If there is enough spiritual energy and the monks recover their magic power in time, there is a certain possibility that this can be achieved.

Just at this time, the old monk with white eyebrows, who had been out of the world for a long time, finally returned.

Compared to before, the monk's robe was disheveled and his aura was noticeably weaker, obviously having experienced a dusty battle.

But seeing Xituozhou about to be completely submerged, he felt deeply that it was his fault and finally made a decision:

"The boundary membrane is broken, and the floods all come from here. We should repair it with the Dao Realm!"

"But it's not enough."

"The flood is derived from things outside the realm. If I use my body as a shell and 'emptiness' as a bottle to absorb these things outside the realm and spiritual energy, perhaps I can eliminate the flood disaster and save the people!"

If this method were used by other cultivators, they would never be able to implement it, because the amount of spiritual energy that a cultivator can withstand is limited. Even a cultivator at the Void Refining stage cannot absorb it without limit.

However, the essence of cultivation in "Yuan Kong Wu Xiang" is nothingness, emptiness.

Since everything is empty, nature is large enough to accommodate everything.

The white-browed old monk did not hesitate at all. He immediately used his body to fill the membrane eye. At the same time, he used his own Taoist domain to forcibly absorb the chaotic source essence and overflowing spiritual energy inside and outside.

The Dao domain was instantly merged into the boundary membrane.

Perhaps it was because of the chaotic source and massive spiritual energy that he continuously absorbed, which fed back to him and the boundary membrane, that even though his body merged into heaven and earth, he did not disappear directly like the others, but instead barely preserved his consciousness and body.

Although his consciousness eventually perished as the Dao Realm merged with the heaven and earth.

But at the end of his life, he found that everything did not develop in the direction he had imagined.

The membrane eye is not completely filled but is still expanding.

A large amount of flood water rushed out.

What was even more desperate was that as his Dao Domain merged with the heaven and earth, his ability to absorb the Chaos Essence and Spiritual Energy also increased rapidly, until he had completely drained away all the Spiritual Energy from the entire Xituo Continent and even further away...

Ci Lu, Ci Zhao... These younger generations who he watched grow up entered Nirvana one by one because they lost their spiritual energy and exhausted their magic power.

After losing their shelter, mortals also died in large numbers.

At the end of his life, all that remained in his heart was deep guilt and self-doubt.

Could it be that he did something wrong?

With such confusion and pain, Xinyuan finally entered Nirvana.

But the last question was reborn in his body.

Hundreds of years later, he was awakened again by a visit from two monks...

'call--'

Wang Ba gently stopped his fingers and stopped tracing back.

There was a hint of sigh and pity in his eyes when he looked at Xinyuan Mo Nian.

He already roughly understood what Xinyuan had encountered.

If you think about it, it is somewhat similar to the trolley problem mentioned in the previous life.

On one side there is one person, and on the other side there are five or more people. Who lives and who dies depends entirely on the choice of Xinyuan.

If one survives, the other dies.

The difference is that Xinyuan is faced with a situation where on one side there are a large number of mortals, and on the other side there are closer monks and younger generations.

The conditions are also more ambiguous.

In Wang Ba's opinion, Xinyuan's original choice was not wrong. Chasing outside the realm to kill the world eater was to solve the problem from the source. After returning, he filled the eyes with his own body and absorbed the source of chaos and spiritual energy to prevent the flood from spreading further. This can be said to be a thoughtful and generous act.

The only thing that can be criticized is that as the leader of Xituzhou, he took the risk alone and did not make proper arrangements for his aftermath, which caused Xituzhou to be torn apart and each island fought against each other. He is the main person responsible for Xituzhou's current situation.

But no one is perfect, and the situation is urgent. Xitaozhou has been peaceful for a long time, so it is understandable that they failed to take care of it.

However, man proposes, God disposes. The real membrane eye was not solved because Xinyuan filled the eye with his body. Instead, the monks of Xitaozhou were affected because of Xinyuan's extraction of spiritual energy, and eventually died one after another.

If we look at it from that time, there was naturally no choice but to do it.

But when the mind infers the cause from the effect, the situation is different.

If he had not chosen to go out of the world to kill the world-eaters, fill his eyes, and absorb spiritual energy to save mortals, but instead took a group of monks to find another place to settle down, would these younger generations of monks have saved themselves?
He saved a group of people out of compassion, but he also indirectly killed the younger generations who trusted him. So, is he a Buddha or a devil?
This is a question without an answer.

Because everyone's answers and standards are different.

The only trouble is that, perhaps because his consciousness was about to disappear, Xinyuan, who was at the end of his life, was trapped in this problem, and eventually a trace of evil thoughts was born.

Thinking of this, Wang Ba looked at the angry and roaring shadow covered by the stupa, with a hint of pity in his eyes.

In his opinion, kindness and compassion are very advanced talents, but not everyone can master such talents. If one's ability is limited, one will often suffer from this talent.

Even a great monk like Master Xinyuan suffered from the pain of compassion. Although he had made great sacrifices, he was still trapped in the moral dilemma. Even after entering Nirvana, he still found it difficult to sleep.

It has nothing to do with the heart of Tao.

Perhaps only compassionate people would have so many concerns and such suffering.

Although he did not agree with such ideas, he found it difficult to hate such people.

As if sensing the pity in Wang Ba's eyes, the demonic shadow in the stupa suddenly stopped struggling and let the Buddha's light shine on him, making a sizzling sound as if it was burning. However, he seemed to be completely unaware of it, staring at Wang Ba with a trace of anger, unwillingness and pain in his eyes:

"Do you also think Xinyuan did something wrong?"

"Do you also agree that I should make amends myself?"

Wang Ba shook his head slightly and suddenly whispered:

"No matter which one the Master chooses, the result will be the same."

The evil shadow was slightly startled.

"If we choose to leave it alone and only flee with the monks of the Buddha countries, the Bodhisattva will still suffer for the rest of his life for not being able to prevent the flood, which led to the sinking of Xituozhou and the death of all living beings."

Wang Ba said calmly:

"Or, take the monks to rescue the monks in the various Buddhist kingdoms in time, but who can save them all? There will always be mortals who are missed. In a disaster, there will always be people who will die. This is unavoidable... Since it is unavoidable, even with the Bodhisattva's kindness and compassion, and his heart of protecting life and seeking safety, I am afraid that he will still live in pain for the rest of his life."

"So no matter what choice you make, for the Bodhisattva, isn't the result the same?"

"It's just that the pain is a little more or a little less, but there is no essential difference."

The evil shadow stood there in a daze, and the noise of its struggle became quieter.

He muttered to himself: "The result... is the same?"

But he woke up in an instant, shaking the stupa like a madman, with a fierce evil spirit, staring at Wang Ba and shouting angrily:

"You lied to me! So many people died because of me, how can this be the same!"

"If I hadn't absorbed the surrounding spiritual energy, the disciples of the Buddha Kingdom should have been able to protect themselves and the mortals, instead of the current situation... They have all entered Nirvana! All of them have entered Nirvana!"

Wang Yan frowned slightly.

This is also the biggest crux of the problem.

Xinyuan’s approach was not simply to choose which side would live or die. He wanted to save everyone, but in the end his decision caused even more tragic losses.

So from the results point of view, if Xinyuan had chosen other methods, or even done nothing, the results might have been much better than they are now.

Later, Master Xinyuan apparently realized this himself, which made him even more unable to accept this fact.

But when the words came to his lips, he couldn't bear to say them to the old monk in front of him.

"Master, none of us has ever blamed you..."

Zhaojie couldn't help but look sad when he saw that his admired Xinyuan had become like this, and he stepped forward to comfort him in a low voice.

But all he heard was the angry roar of the evil shadow.

The Buddha's light from the stupa was brilliant, shining on the phantom of the evil thoughts, but it was still unable to convert them. Instead, the phantom of the evil thoughts actually moved closer to Xinyuan's body little by little, as if it wanted to return again.

Wang Ba's heart trembled when he noticed this scene. His mind raced and he suddenly said in a deep voice:

"Sitra is in this situation today, but the Bodhisattva did not blame those world-eaters, but instead put all the blame on himself. This is a bit arrogant."

The demonic shadow paused when he heard this, then stared at Wang Ba again, his face ferocious with a hint of confusion:
"…What do you want to say?"

Facing the other party's gaze, Wang Ba replied calmly:
"Since the Bodhisattva has merged with the heaven and earth, he must be able to sense the situation outside the world. The heaven and earth are declining, and the strange beasts outside the world, that is, the world eaters, have been lurking in the Xiaocang world for many years. Even if the great flood disaster did not happen in Xituozhou, but in Fenglinzhou and Huangjizhou, with the participation of the world eaters, it must be an unstoppable catastrophe."

"The Great Master wants to save the people of Dawn by himself, but he doesn't know that there are many sixth-level world eaters outside the world waiting to share this plate of food from the Xiaocang World. Do you think that you can stop the great catastrophe and so many world eaters outside the world with your own strength?"

"What do you think of the many Void Refining cultivators in Xiaocang Realm?"

"They don't even dare to have such delusion!"

"If the Bodhisattva really has this intention, I have only four words to say to him..."

"You don't know what you can do!"

"Tan Yue!"

Zhaojie, who was standing by, could no longer bear it and shouted angrily to stop them.

Even though he vaguely guessed that the current situation of Xitaozhou was closely related to the former Master Xinyuan, he still could not bear to see the other party being humiliated by Wang Ba.

The stupa suddenly became quiet at this moment.

The shadow of the evil thought stood in a daze under the Buddha's light. The evil thoughts around him were purified by the Buddha's light and rose like smoke, but he was completely unaware of it and muttered a few words in a daze:
"You don't know your own limitations... You don't know your own limitations..."

Sometimes frowning, sometimes glaring, sometimes laughing...

Along with these words, the evil intent in the evil shadow gradually dissipated.

The frowning brows were quietly smoothed, and the ferocious face gradually calmed down.

He crossed his legs and bowed his head with his hands clasped together.

The cracks on the giant Buddha statue behind him healed quietly, and the evil spirit dissipated with a wail.

A auspicious red mole appeared again between the eyebrows of the phantom and the physical body of Master Xinyuan.

Pure white Buddha light emanated from behind their heads, like the Buddha's sudden enlightenment, cleansing all worldly desires!
"This this……"

Zhaojie looked at the evil shadow in disbelief, then turned to look at Wang Ba, his eyes full of disbelief.

This is clearly a sign of becoming a Buddha!
But... he was clearly cursing Master Xinyuan just now, how could it be...

The stupa seemed to have sensed something and shook slightly. It actually left the evil shadow and hovered slightly in the air, as if it was telling something to the evil shadow.

The shadow of the evil thought was shrouded in pure white Buddha light, holy and pure, completely different from the evil intention just now.

He nodded slightly, his eyes seemed to be filled with countless scriptures, and he looked sideways towards the east, as if he had seen something, and slowly opened his mouth, with Buddhist chanting resoundingly:

"Go, the catastrophe is coming, and my nephew Ci Wu has found a successor for me, and it needs you even more."

The stupa seemed to wave towards the evil shadow reluctantly, and then flew straight to the east.

Wang Ba, who saw this scene, was thoughtful.

But Zhaojie was so excited that he couldn't speak:
"Master, have you already..."

"I have attained enlightenment."

The shadow of the evil thoughts, no, the shadow of the heart, smiled slightly, full of peace and tranquility, then looked at Wang Ba, sat cross-legged in the air, put his hands together and bowed:
"Thank you for your enlightenment, my friend. Xinyuan had committed a big taboo in Buddhism before. His ego was too strong. Your four words were like a wake-up call. Xinyuan has learned his lesson."

Wang Ba did not avoid it, but accepted the gift calmly.

Egoism means being too obsessed with one's own shortcomings and taking everything about oneself too seriously.

The reason why Master Xinyuan fell into such pain was that, after all, he felt that he was indispensable to the world and attributed the good and bad of Xitaozhou to his own choices. But once he realized that he was just one of the countless living beings and that the general trend of the world would not be different because of his choices, then such pain would fundamentally cease to exist.

Because his choice is not important, no one can escape the catastrophe of heaven and earth.

What Wang Ba did was to point this out.

But he was also a little curious:
"The current situation of the Master is..."

Xinyuan's shadow did not hide anything and said calmly:

"I should be reaching Nirvana now."

“But if it’s Fenglinzhou’s way of speaking, maybe I can also be considered to have ascended.”

Wang Ba was slightly startled:
"What's the explanation?"

Zhao Jie, who was standing by, had a mixture of admiration and envy in his eyes, and explained in a low voice:
"My monks in Xituozhou are slightly different from you monks. If they practice normally, when they reach the sixth level, they will be able to ascend to the upper realm. However, those with deep Buddha roots will be led by the 'Reception Pool' in the upper realm after entering Nirvana, and then start their next life..."

Wang Ba couldn't help but show surprise on his face and couldn't help but say:
"Then anyone can..."

Zhao Jie seemed to have guessed what Wang Ba wanted to say, and shook his head:
"From Buddha to demon, and from demon to Buddha... it can be considered a shortcut, but few people can do it... But donors can give it a try."

"Yes, although my friend's Buddhist nature is not as good as that of my disciple whom I have never met, he is also a rare kind-hearted person. If you are willing to join my Buddhist sect, I can accept you as my disciple on your behalf."

Xinyuan's shadow smiled faintly.

Wang Ba reacted, looked at the other party, and asked seriously:
"Did the great master also see the great catastrophe in the future? Can you tell me where this catastrophe comes from?"

Xinyuan's shadow shook his head slightly after hearing this:

"It's not that I don't want to say it, it's just that I can't see clearly. I only know that this disaster is a great disaster that swept across the entire Xiaocang Realm, and no continent was spared, but I don't know where it came from."

"But the great calamity will come when it comes, and there is no point in worrying. The so-called calamity is nothing more than inside and outside the world. Even if you insist on knowing it, what can you do?"

"Sometimes, you just need to relax and move forward."

Wang Ba was startled, but at this moment he suddenly woke up.

He had been preoccupied with the great catastrophe of heaven and earth that Xuan Yuanzi had spoken of, and his mind was troubled, but this actually slowed down his own cultivation.

But as long as you are strong enough, no matter how many disasters you encounter, you can handle them all by yourself.

"Thank you for your guidance, Master."

Xinyuan's shadow smiled without saying anything, and his figure gradually became more vague and illusory.

"Great Master!"

Zhaojie was shocked.

Xinyuan's shadow looked calm:

"I was originally a wisp of evil thought. Now that the evil thought is gone, I have attained enlightenment and become a Buddha. It is time for me to enter Nirvana, but..."

He glanced at Wang Ba and Zhao Jie, his face showing a pensive look, and then he plunged directly into the body of Xin Yuan, where a hole was wriggling in his chest.

At this moment, the evil thoughts and the body merged into one. Xinyuan immediately opened his eyes and casually pushed the vajra in front of Zhaojie.

"Please pass this treasure to my disciple on my behalf."

Zhaojie quickly took it with both hands. As for the "disciple", it was obviously the reincarnated Buddha who was far away in Beihaizhou.

Although the other party had clearly never seen it before and shouldn't have known about it, it was natural for a being who had attained enlightenment to possess such abilities.

Then Xinyuan took out a cloth bag and handed it to Zhaojie:
"These are the treasures of my Xituozhou over the years. Please keep them for me. You can use all the treasures in them."

Zhaojie was shocked and was about to refuse, but when he felt Xinyuan's gaze, he accepted it solemnly.

Xinyuan nodded with satisfaction, then turned his gaze to Wang Ba.

His peaceful eyes seemed to have seen through something, and he frowned slightly:
"I can't do anything about the problem you're facing now..."

He looked thoughtful, then reached into his white monk robe and took out a stone bead that looked quite ordinary.

With a light flick, it fell into Wang Ba's hands.

Wang Bawei was a little surprised:
"This is……"

Xinyuan said calmly:
"This is a fifth-level sea pearl. Perhaps it can solve some of your problems."

"A fifth-level sea pearl?"

Wang Ba's heart moved.

There are actually two in the sect, one in Taihe Palace and the other in Chunyang Palace.

It's just that the energy in the two sea pearls had been exhausted long ago, and he didn't know when he could use them again, so he had never used the fifth-level sea pearl.

Thinking of the difficult situation that Yuanci Daoren was unable to escape from before, he suddenly had an idea.

He didn't hesitate and accepted the treasure immediately.

Just as he was about to express his gratitude, Xinyuan's body suddenly shook, and the phantom of Xinyuan flew out again, landing in front of Wang Ba in an instant, and raised his hand to place it on his shoulder.

"Great Master..."

Wang Ba and Zhao Jie's expressions changed at the same time.

But the next moment, Xinyuan's shadow raised his hand and swung it, causing Zhaojie to stagger. After a gust of wind, he was shocked to find that he was actually standing on the coast of Xitaozhou where he had just set foot!
Looking up, I can no longer see the figures of Master Xinyuan and Wangba.
And at the same time.

Outside the vast and dark Xiaocang world.

In an extremely tiny, constantly wriggling cave on the membrane.

A pure white Buddha light carrying a figure suddenly flew out from the cave and landed above it. (End of this chapter)
