death of hope
Chapter 995 "Psionic Storm" Cyber Ninja
Chapter 995 "Psionic Storm" (69) Cyber Ninja
"It's moving! Watch out!"
Trist drew his pistol, panicked, and took several steps back, his heels hitting the steps, almost tripping and falling.
"where?"
"3:30! Up there!"
Without a word, Dmitry raised his assault rifle and unleashed a burst of fire. The full charge, combined with the tungsten alloy armor-piercing bullets, created devastating damage.
Broken cement blocks and steel rebar fragments, along with years of accumulated dust and cobwebs, continued to fall, startling the bats that inhabited the ruins, causing them to scatter in all directions.
"Did you hit it?"
"do not know!"
"Damn it! What genius came up with the idea of practicing shooting in this godforsaken place?! Isn't that just asking for death?!"
"Shut the hell up! You're about to die, what's the point of shifting blame!"
·
"Quiet down! Fire in the Hole!" Sergei shouted.
Seeing that everyone else had taken cover, Sergei pulled a heavy 40mm armor-piercing incendiary round from his waist pouch and tucked it into the grenade launcher beneath his rifle.
The missile was fired at the direction of the billowing smoke and dust. The explosion sent up a huge fireball, and the temperature in the entire factory rose significantly. A large hole was blasted in the roof, allowing sunlight to stream in.
"Hehe, that's why it's so strenuous."
"Now... he should be dead, right?"
Thick smoke and dust spread throughout the factory, making it difficult to gather any useful information with the naked eye.
"Old Cui! It's your turn now!" Paul shouted.
Drizzt focused intently on using his psionic senses, then widened his eyes and roared:
"That thing... is still moving!"
"what?!"
"What are you standing there for? Keep going!"
Just as Sergei was preparing to fire another grenade and Dmitry was raising his rocket launcher, a slender black figure darted out of the smoke and dust.
The thing had a bizarre shape, using both hands and feet to quickly climb up the top steel beams, swinging on iron chains to leap to a platform at the other end of the factory.
"Over there!" Paul fired, followed by a barrage of rifle grenades and rockets.
The monster propelled itself forward with a powerful leap, like a cannonball, slamming itself towards the other side of the factory, thus avoiding the explosion.
Its agility surpasses that of apes, and its technical skill completely outclasses top-tier parkour athletes; such outrageous moves can only be seen in special effects movies or animated films.
·
"Dig! What the hell is that?!"
“Urban legends of Shin-Sapporo…The weeping ghosts of the abandoned factory…” Takiya Rimi was terrified.
"What's there to be afraid of? Just do it!"
As a staunch warrior of V-Force, Pavel Korchagin never believed in ghosts or gods; he believed that any enemy could be killed, regardless of the difficulty.
Without any hesitation, Paul changed the magazine and continued firing.
"It might be a cyber ninja sent by the company. It saw our faces and can't be left alive!"
Rimi Takiya mustered her courage, pressed her eyes against the scope, and held her finger to the trigger, waiting for the moment when the crosshairs would align with the target.
With a whoosh, something tore a hole in the dust, sending it straight towards the throat of Takitani.
"careful!"
Ando Shuichi raised his tactical shield to protect Takiya from a fatal blow.
As Tonya huddled in her bunker changing magazines, she was astonished to see a chilling, cone-shaped shuriken embedded in the center of her shield, still trembling from its remaining force.
"This weapon... it really is in the style of a cyber ninja..."
Paul was surprised by the depth to which the shuriken had pierced; it had almost pierced through the shield.
"A cold weapon, to be able to throw it with this much power, is not much less than a gunpowder-powered weapon... It's definitely not human..."
·
It's important to know that this tactical shield is made of an advanced composite material consisting of Kevlar fiber, silicon carbide ceramic, and alloys, making it capable of easily withstanding heavy fire from large-caliber ammunition.
He was almost pierced by a cold weapon; the force of the thrower was simply unimaginable.
Two more shuriken and three ninja stars came flying at them. Luckily, everyone had found cover, otherwise they would have been dead on the spot.
Nikolai was so frightened that he didn't dare to show his face. "Holy crap... that aim... that's cheating..." "Strength... agility... all maxed out, what kind of monster is that?"
"Digging it up... the nest's ruined... we might end up dying here..."
"Stop talking nonsense! Get up and fight!"
Paul rolled out of cover, and the ninja stars seemed to be automatically aiming, closely following his movements.
It nearly pierced Paul's skull, brushed his hair, and pinned his hat to the ground.
Tonya turned pale with fright: "Pavlusha!" (Paul's nickname, used by close friends and family)
"I'm not dead!"
Paul performed another side roll, changed cover, and moved from the machine tool to the control console: "Old Cui! Report the position!"
Drizzt hid behind cover, overusing his psionic detection abilities, which put a heavy strain on his body. Blood was seeping from his nostrils and ears, but he couldn't care less about that now; survival was the priority.
"It's moving! At 6:30! Above the hazardous materials tanks!"
"Well done, Old Cui!" Paul gave a thumbs up: "I'll go take the kill, you guys cover me!"
·
"OK!"
Sergei put on his helmet and peered out from behind cover to provide sustained fire suppression.
"Catch!" Nikolai tossed a briefcase to Paul, who caught it cleanly.
"Thanks!"
The briefcase unfolds into a portable tactical shield, inside which is a fully loaded Bison submachine gun with a drum magazine.
With a shield in his left hand and a gun in his right, Paul bravely charged out of cover, using his teammates' suppressive fire to engage the enemy.
Using the strong thigh muscles he developed from squats, he quickly climbed the metal ladder using only his leg strength, approaching the top of the hazardous materials tank.
The shield was quickly filled with shurikens and ninja stars. Paul rested the muzzle of his 'Bison' submachine gun on the pre-drilled firing port on the shield and fired, shouting as he did so to bolster his courage:
"Keep throwing! Keep throwing! You corporate dog! Why aren't you throwing anymore?!"
Amidst the smoke and dust kicked up by the explosion, the ear-piercing scraping sound of metal could be heard;
The sound of a sword being drawn from its sheath in old-fashioned sword movies creates a chilling and oppressive atmosphere that sends shivers down your spine.
·
"Pavlusha! Run!" Tonya was so anxious she was about to cry, her voice hoarse from shouting.
Sergei snapped, "You're alive! What are you crying for? It's bad luck!"
Paul struggled to calm his wildly beating heart and tried to think rationally:
(Cyber ninjas are all half-machine, half-biochemical cyborgs; they definitely can't win in close combat. This is their only chance...)
Damn it, I'll give it my all... at least I can make everyone...
Paul made up his mind and turned to shout, "Run! It's out of ninja stars!"
"Now's the time! Run! Fellow Zs! Get out of here! If I'm gone, Brother Nikolai will take over the command!"
"No!" Donya's vision was completely blocked by the smoke and dust, so she could only worry helplessly.
Finally, the monster appeared.
Amidst the billowing dust, the hunched figure could be faintly seen.
Like a reclusive master from an old-fashioned martial arts film, the monster wielded two samurai swords, one long and one short, and its eyes were two flashing red dots, devoid of any human emotion.
·
Paul pulled the trigger, and the 9mm steel-core bullets fired by the Bison were as fragile as popcorn, all of which were blocked by the wielding double swords, sending up brilliant sparks.
Using cold weapons to deflect high-velocity, high-kinetic-energy chemical energy munitions.
An ordinary person would find it hard to believe, but Paul, a veteran of countless battles, was already used to it.
Over the years, federal and corporate armed forces have gone to great lengths to eradicate the commune;
Bio-mutated monsters, cyborgs, alien mercenaries, psionic wizards—it seems like they're coming out of nowhere, each one a terrifying spectacle that defies common sense.
And he, a rising star in the commune organization.
The brave and fearless communist Z.P. Korchagin stood firm, determined to annihilate these evil dragons one by one.
The opponent wielded his twin swords with impenetrable precision, presumably equipped with a high-performance ballistic computer and top-of-the-line mechanical joints. The blades were also made of the finest materials, cutting through steel-core bullets as easily as slicing tofu.
Paul discarded his out-of-ammunition Bison submachine gun, drew his Tokarev pistol, and continued firing.
Once the enemy was close enough, Paul secretly pulled out a specially made 'electromagnetic pulse' grenade from behind his belt, unzipped it, and held it in his palm.
The longsword was blocked by the shield, while the short sword was aimed straight for the heart…
(This thing is very advanced; it must have anti-interference capabilities. You have to get so close, face to face, to unleash your ultimate weapon...)
Whether I live or die... it all hinges on this...
·
Paul took a deep breath, gripped the incoming blade with his large, tactical-gloved hand, and forcefully deflected it, avoiding vital organs and arteries, before piercing the shoulder muscle.
With his other hand, he hurled the electromagnetic pulse grenade at the monster's eerily red electronic eye.
"Boom!" A burst of intense blue light exploded, causing Paul to be temporarily blinded and his ears to ring.
After a few seconds, Paul heard the sound of the mechanical body falling to the ground, followed by the crackling sound of short-circuited wires.
Finally, I breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that I had won my gamble.
My whole body was soaked in cold sweat; this was the closest I had ever come to death.
