Karma Tathagata actually does not need to refine the body of an enlightened being, because he is the enlightened being. The reason why Buddha and demons are in the same stream is to make others think that Karma Tathagata is refining the body of an enlightened being, and at the same time, to cover up this matter.

"The desires of those people are also the desires of the lost. The lost also want to obtain the fruit of Amitabha Buddha's path."
