Too much fruit
Chapter 1047 Elysian World
Chapter 1047 Elysian World
The void is endless and there is no light, only darkness, just like the chaos before the creation of heaven and earth.
Among the powerful people of all generations after the Dharma Ending Age, some suspected that the void was not originally nothingness, but was once a part of the universe. However, because of the great catastrophe of the Dharma Ending Age, the original space and land were destroyed, and it became nothingness.
It's like the broken underworld.
However, this statement is inconsistent with the current situation, because if one's strength reaches a certain level, one can forcibly break through the space and enter the void. In this way, the void is more like a world.
Many answers are destined to remain unanswered, and people’s understanding of the void is still unknown, but the three Tathagatas before the end of the Dharma seemed to be very familiar with it.
The Buddha's light continued to extend in the void, turning into a heavenly road, rushing straight into the endless distance.
I don't know how long I have walked, or how far I have traveled. The emptiness of the void is enough to penetrate my soul, making my mind give up all thoughts. It seemed like a moment, and it seemed like thousands of years. Suddenly, infinite light appeared in front of the Buddha's Light Heavenly Road.
It was dark the moment before, but it was bright the next, like an ocean of light. The infinite Buddha light rippled, turning into a surging tide, and in this ocean, a solemn and pure world slowly emerged.
The meaning of Amitabha is immeasurable and endless. Amitabha is also known as "the Buddha of Infinite Light" and "the Buddha of Infinite Life".
In Buddhist scriptures, he was the first to make a great vow to establish the existence of the Pure Land of Buddhism. The Western Paradise generally referred to as the Pure Land of Buddhism is the Buddhist kingdom of Amitabha Buddha. He is also the great master of Buddhism and the center of faith for believers in the world.
Whether it is Amitabha Buddha or another widely circulated Amitayus Buddha, they all refer to this one.
"The Western Pure Land, the Paradise, has not been destroyed."
The colored glaze image walking on the Buddha Light Heaven Road is Medicine Buddha. He saw this solemn and pure world with his own eyes, and said with surprise: "I thought it had also suffered a disaster in the Dharma Ending Age, but I didn't expect..."
Although Medicine Tathagata had not finished speaking, Shakyamuni Tathagata and Vairocana Tathagata were able to fully understand the meaning behind his words.
Of course, there is more than one Pure Land in Buddhism. Basically, all the big names in Buddhism have their own Buddhist world, such as the Eastern Pure Land of Medicine Buddha, the Vajra Garbha-dhatu of Vairocana Buddha, the Vajra Garbha-dhatu of Sakyamuni Buddha, etc.
If you don’t have your own Buddhist Pure Land, you can’t be considered a big shot.
For example, the widely known Guanyin Bodhisattva, although his reputation is known to all three realms, he is still not considered a big shot in Buddhism because he does not have his own pure land.
However, the pure lands of the three Tathagatas present had already been destroyed.
This is not only because of the horror of the Dharma Ending Age, but also because the so-called Pure Land of Buddha is actually an evolved version of the Buddha Land in the Palm of Your Hand, which is derived and supported by these Tathagatas themselves. If the main purpose of the Pure Land is gone, the Pure Land will naturally be gone.
Conversely, if the Pure Land still exists, does it mean that the Lord of the Pure Land is not dead yet?
Medicine Buddha and Vairocana Buddha both looked at Sakyamuni Buddha.
Among the three of them, perhaps only this one can see Amitabha’s current situation.
Tathagata Buddha, the Lord of Lingshan Mountain, is also the one who created Buddhism in the world. He is the leader among all Buddhas, praised by all Buddhas, and is the incarnation of Buddha...
Facing the gazes of the two Buddhist friends, the golden Buddha Sakyamuni Tathagata showed no strange expression on his face, just like a real Buddha statue. He just said in a grand voice: "Let's go, the fruit of Amitabha is before our eyes."
As he spoke, Sakyamuni Tathagata pointed downward, and the Buddha Light Heavenly Road turned into a golden bridge, falling into the Pure Land.
The distance was rapidly closing, and the hazy world illuminated by the infinite Buddha's light gradually revealed its true appearance.
The Buddha's light shines everywhere on the red-gold Buddha land. There are seven layers of railings, seven layers of nets, and seven layers of trees, all made of the four treasures, surrounding it. The steps on the four sides are all made of gold, silver, glass, and crystal. There are pavilions on top, which are also decorated with gold, silver, glass, conch, red pearls, and agate.
There are also the Dharma images of various Buddhas standing majestically in the Pure Land, all facing the center of the Western Paradise, forming an arch shape.
The Pure Land is infinitely beautiful.
But when the three Tathagatas set foot on this land of red gold, the beauty turned into illusion. The magnificent pavilions on the side roads were covered with dust and became dilapidated. Under the Buddha's light, there was an unconcealable decay, and even the Dharma images of the Buddhas were phantom shadows.
Everything that happened before has become a pipe dream.
But Bhaisajyaguru Tathagata and Vairocana Tathagata still showed a hint of excitement.
"Good, good," said Medicine Buddha with a smile, "The Dharma image is still there, so it is possible to reunite the true spirit. If Amitabha Buddha reappears, all the Buddhas of my teachings will be able to attain Nirvana and be reborn."
These virtual images of Dharma statues represent the last traces of the Buddhas and great Bodhisattvas left in the world, and also represent their last hope of survival.
Even if the true spirit has fallen, it can still be reunited and reshaped with great supernatural powers and might.
The class distribution in Buddhism is a typical pyramid type, whether in terms of status or incense and faith.
While enjoying the incense of believers, the lower-level Arhats and Vajra also have to contribute their faith to the higher-level Bodhisattvas and Buddhas, which can be said to be a progressive process. Although this will make them subject to the upper level, it also gives them a chance to be reborn.
The Buddhas of the upper level controlled this vitality, so even if the Arhats and Vajra of the lower level fell, they could help them revive. And the Buddhas had to pay tribute to the higher level, so they had their own way out.
Except for a few exceptions, such as Fighting and Victory Buddha, the rest of the Buddhas are basically like this.
In this way, these Buddhists can survive better than those third-grade true spirits and have hope of living again.
The prerequisite is that Amitabha Buddha can reappear in the world.
The Great Sun Tathagata also looked at the surrounding Dharma images and nodded, saying, "The incense left by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas before the end of the Dharma is all here. And most of the incense gathered by the Buddha Kingdom over the years after the end of the Dharma is also here."
After bearing the Dao Fruit, those practitioners in the Buddhist Kingdom were also able to absorb the incense and faith and condense the Dharma image outside their bodies, but they were still far inferior to the original owners of the Dao Fruit and were unable to make full use of the incense.
This is not to say that all practitioners in the Buddhist kingdom are inferior to the original owner, but that the core of their absorption of incense is the fruit of the Tao. How can absorbing incense with the fruit of the Tao of others be comparable to the real owner?
The incense sticks that could not be absorbed and utilized were brought here and became the foundation of this ruined pure land.
Amitabha may have fallen, but his Pure Land continues to absorb incense and sustain it for a long time.
Moreover, this void is not affected by the five turbidities and evil times, and can also become the final refuge for the Dharma images of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Even if the years pass and the Dharma images become phantoms, there is still a glimmer of hope.
If Amitabha Buddha is reborn, or if someone carries the fruit of Amitabha Buddha's Tao, this virtual image of the Dharma can be used as a medium to reunite the true spirit, and then guide the true spirit into the fruit of the Tao.
The practitioners in the Buddha's kingdom will become the best homes after the true spirit is guided in.
This is Buddhism’s greatest backup plan.
The Buddha did not say anything, but just turned his palm gently, and a golden pool as big as the sea appeared on the huge Buddha palm. This is the Seven Treasures Pond, which is based on the seven treasures of Buddhism and condensed with the power of Amitabha Buddha's wishes. The water in the pool has eight special merits, so it is called "Eight Meritorious Waters".
The pool water has endless uses, and its greatest benefit is to help Buddhist practitioners condense their golden bodies. The reason why Sakyamuni Tathagata and Vairocana Tathagata were able to recover quickly was because they found this pool of merit.
It's just that due to the huge consumption of energy in refining the Dharmakāya Golden Body, and the presence of Karma Tathagata and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva in both the light and dark to teach the Dharma and eliminate the faith of all Buddhas, this merit has been unable to make up for the expenditure, and is basically being used up.
But now it's all coming back.
The water of merit, which seemed vast but was actually illusory, was gradually becoming real. The faint Buddhist aura gathered here from all directions and soon recovered to about one thousandth.
With the Pure Land in place, and far away from the Five Turbidities and Evil Worlds, the restoration of the Merit Water is visible to the naked eye. Judging from this speed, it won’t take long for the Seven Treasures Pond to be filled with Merit Water again.
However, Sakyamuni Tathagata did not slack off because of the good things in front of him. He just took a look at the Seven Treasures Pond, put it away again, said "Let's go", and flew to the center of the Pure Land.
He did not forget how the three of them came here.
If Jiang Li and Ye Tathagata had not forced them too much, they would not have opened the Heavenly Road in advance and come to find the Paradise.
The purpose of this search was to break through.
And the enemy is Karma Tathagata, who is better than Mara in the way of evil and has extraordinary achievements in Buddhism. He has the merits of Tathagata, so it is very likely that we can track him down by following the traces.
In fact, Sakyamuni Tathagata already had a bad premonition.
If Emperor Jiang and Ye Tathagata had not been able to confuse cause and effect, Sakyamuni Tathagata would have been able to directly identify the source of the ominous premonition and gain insight into the identity of the enemy.
In the world before the Dharma Ending Age, those who could reach the level of the Buddha basically had great supernatural powers to predict the future.
At that time, the three Tathagatas moved away together.
Along the way, they passed by many phantom images of Dharma statues, and the Buddha's holy light resonated with them, as if welcoming the arrival of the three Tathagatas, and as if celebrating the imminent comeback of the Buddhist orthodoxy.
The further forward you go, the more obvious the Buddha's light fluctuations become.
This means that the fluctuations of will retained in these phantom images of the Dharma are strong enough, and the difficulty of reuniting the true spirit will be reduced accordingly.
The more powerful the being, the easier it is to resurrect.
As the three Tathagatas approached, an extremely majestic Buddha figure gradually appeared in perception.
······
······
Soon after the three Tathagatas moved towards the center of the Pure Land, the Buddha's light reappeared and the road to heaven opened again.
The light passed through the void, through the infinite Buddha light, and fell into the Pure Land of Bliss. Two figures appeared in the scattered light and set foot on the red golden Buddha land.
As soon as it appeared, an indescribable pressure emerged, and the Buddha's light and energy from all directions began to move, and cold lights focused, as if unknown existences were scanning over.
"It seems that our arrival is not welcomed." Ye Tathagata chuckled as he slowly turned the rosary beads.
The dilapidated appearance just now was covered up, and the Buddha's light shone everywhere, making the buildings look more solemn. The Buddha's energy was pure and holy, and it was violently surging, as if a dragon was flying in the sky.
The phantoms of the Dharma images seemed to have regained consciousness. They slowly turned and moved, their lifeless eyes staring at the two uninvited guests.
This is certainly not a welcome, but an attempt to suppress the enemy.
For this reason, the Buddha's power within the Pure Land was fully activated, even to the point of concealing its inherent decay.
The entire Pure Land is no longer in ruins, but seems to have returned to its heyday, with thousands of Buddha lights and the Dharma images of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, jointly fighting the enemy.
Jiang Li only raised his eyes slightly, and felt the pressure increasing because of the slight movement. He also heard the ground slowly rumbling, and four huge Vajra Buddha statues moved towards him with heavy footsteps, blocking the way like four peaks.
These are the Four Heavenly Kings.
In the Lingtai Mountain of the Buddhist Kingdom, statues of the Four Heavenly Kings were erected, with the Dao fruits of the Four Heavenly Kings as the core, driving the statues to protect the precious land. Unexpectedly, now in the Pure Land, there are still these four.
He is truly born to be a goalkeeper.
Jiang Li looked forward with emotion. In his sight, apart from the Four Heavenly Kings, there were other Dharma protectors surrounding him. One after another, the images of Arhats rose behind the Dharma protectors, and then the images of Bodhisattvas appeared above the Arhats.
There is another layer above the first layer. Although they are all phantoms, they are not bad when they are gathered together.
The solemn Buddha's aura transformed into Buddha's light, making all the Dharmas appear more lofty. This scene had the momentum of the rise of Buddhism in the past.
"Why do I feel like I have become a heretic?" Jiang Li couldn't help but sigh as he watched this scene.
Isn’t this scene the classic story of ten thousand Buddhas subduing the demons?
"Jiang Tanyue, you can be more confident. You and I are now the demons that have entered the Pure Land." Ye Tathagata said in a very convincing manner.
As an enlightened being and also an enemy of Buddha, this person's Buddhist teachings can be compared with that of the Tathagata. Vairocana Tathagata and Medicine Tathagata can see this, and Karma Tathagata can also see it.
This is the last refuge of Buddhism, and the uninvited guests who have come here now are the enemies who want to destroy the refuge and the chances of resurrection of these Dharma images. What else can he be but evil demons?
Even if there was only a trace of extremely faint will, these phantom images of the Dharma could sense the arrival of the evil enemy and instinctively fought against the Buddha enemy.
"You are wrong, sir. I came here because I feel sorry for the deceased who cannot rest in peace. I came here to send him to the afterlife. How can I be a demon?"
Upon hearing this, Emperor Jiang shook his head in disapproval.
Just kidding, no one is kinder than me.
Jiang Li was extremely helpless about Ye Tathagata's misunderstanding, but he still did not forget his original intention. He said to the overlapping Vajra, Arhat, Bodhisattva, and Buddha who gathered together: "Good, good, don't worry, I will save you all right away."
With a sad sigh, Jiang Li paused on one foot, and a sudden Buddhist chant was heard. It was the "Nirvana Mantra" to send the dead to the afterlife.
The figure rose slowly, and all kinds of energy gathered behind him, turning into a huge celestial wheel. It first rotated yin and yang, then turned into Buddha and devil, and finally the Buddha's light disappeared, leaving only the incomparably profound devilish intent.
"Tai Chi Heavenly Wheel."
