Robert is a skilled and bold man, so naturally he chose the second approach.

Greedy, why not be greedy?
Maybe there won’t be so many coins in the later stages, so the amount of silver coins obtained in the early stages is the key.

He took the silver coins, got off the bus, came to the vampire passenger, and said calmly, "I happen to be free, so I'll go in with you."

The vampire passenger was visibly stunned, with a hint of surprise flashing across his eyes, but he quickly regained his composure.

He nodded, said nothing more, and walked towards the manor with Robert.

Outside the manor is a tall wall with rusty iron gates, as if no one has taken care of it for a long time.

The vampire passenger pulled an ancient key from his pocket, inserted it into the keyhole, and turned it gently.

Click!

The iron door made a sharp sound and slowly opened.

The sound of the door hinges rubbing against each other seemed particularly harsh in the silent night, as if some sleeping monster had been awakened.

As the iron gate opened, a group of bats flew up from the darkness behind the gate with a "whoosh", flapping their wings and disappearing into the night sky, foreshadowing the danger here at all times.

Entering the manor, Robert's eyes quickly scanned the surroundings.

He saw some "statues" placed on the grass next to him. These statues had different shapes, some were human-like, and some were ferocious ghosts.

They are either standing or kneeling, in different postures, but without exception they all have a weird atmosphere.

Robert observed carefully and found that these statues were not placed randomly.

The grass is actually a huge chessboard, and these statues are chess pieces placed on the chessboard.

But from this perspective, the overall picture of the chessboard is not clear, only the partial layout can be seen.

"It seems like there should be some kind of hint here, but I can't tell it now."

Robert murmured inwardly, then turned his gaze to the tall building in the center of the manor.

It was an old Gothic building with its spire pointing towards the night sky, its windows tightly closed, and an ominous atmosphere shrouded it.

Robert's eyes moved back and forth between his buildings and statues. He already had some guesses in his mind, but he didn't say them out loud. He just followed the vampire passenger silently.

The two walked along the cobblestone road towards the building, and their footsteps were particularly clear in the quiet night.

As Robert walked, he asked, "You should all be vampires, right?"

The vampire passenger nodded, with a hint of helplessness in his tone: "Did you figure it out? Yes, I am a vampire, and the place I'm going to is very dangerous."

He paused, then turned to look at Robert, "Are you sure you want to go in with me? There's still time to turn back."

Robert had no expression on his face. He just said calmly, "It's okay. In my eyes, you are just a passenger."

This time Robert knew clearly that he was not a cardinal, but a taxi driver, so he needed to abide by the rules of taxi drivers.

As if he had thought of something, Robert continued to ask: "What are you doing here?"

The vampire passenger was silent for a moment, with a hint of sadness in his tone: "Wait for someone to make a deal."

Robert keenly noticed his mood change and asked, "Can you tell me the situation?"

The vampire passenger sighed and whispered, "My daughter was kidnapped by a group of people some time ago. I have brought what they wanted. In front of us is our vampire trading place. The Earl will administer justice."

Robert nodded and didn't ask any further questions.

He knew that the vampire passenger was already in a very low mood and further questioning might cause unnecessary resentment.

The two walked to the door of the building, and the vampire passenger raised his hand and knocked on the door, with a rhythm of three heavy and two light.

Soon, there was a slight sound of footsteps from inside the door, and then the door was opened a crack.

A young woman appeared at the door. Her face was pale and two fangs were exposed at the corners of her mouth. She was obviously also a vampire.

She looked at the two of them expressionlessly, then pushed the door open completely, motioning them to come in, with no intention of speaking at all. Entering the house, Robert immediately felt a strong aura of death coming towards him.

There was a stench of decay in the air, but oddly enough, for a vampire's house, there was very little smell of blood.

The young woman held a candle and walked in front to lead the way.

The flickering candlelight stretched her shadow long and cast it on the wall, making her look particularly strange.

The two followed her through a long corridor and into a spacious living room.

There was a huge fireplace in the middle of the living room. The fire was burning weakly, making a crackling sound.

There were several old sofas next to the fireplace. On one of the sofas sat an old, white-haired male vampire, who was reading a thick book with his head down.

It seems that he is immersed in the ocean of knowledge.

This made Robert very curious about what kind of books vampires would read.

When the vampire passenger saw the white-haired vampire, he immediately showed respect, bowed slightly and said, "My Lord Earl."

The vampire lord simply nodded slightly and continued to read, not even looking at the vampire passenger.

Robert stood aside and looked around quickly. There were only a few of them here, and the other party who kidnapped the vampire passenger seemed to have not arrived yet.

The vampire passenger just mentioned the so-called 15 minutes.

Well here, as the old chosen one, Robert would definitely not wait here stupidly for 15 minutes. Wouldn't that be just waiting to die?

In such a dangerous situation, the time given to the Chosen Ones to wait is not to let them rest, but
Take advantage of the time now and find a way to explore this place to increase your chances of survival.

Every next step, every discovery, may determine the life or death of the chosen one.

The vampire passenger sat on a nearby sofa, feeling uneasy, rubbing his hands back and forth constantly, glancing towards the door from time to time, obviously lacking confidence in the transaction.

His breathing was a little rapid, and he was suppressing his inner anxiety.

Everything seemed to depend on the Count, but he still lowered his head to read, indifferent to what was about to happen.

"Sorry, I'm going to the bathroom." Robert stood up and said calmly.

The vampire passenger nodded and said nothing more.

The Earl was still immersed in the book and didn't hear Robert's request at all, nor did he care much about Robert.

Robert left the living room and walked quickly down the corridor.

The house was very large, with tightly closed doors on both sides of the corridor. The air was filled with a decayed smell, and the wooden floor under his feet creaked slightly, as if warning him not to act rashly.

Robert just realized that the house was very large, and it was simply impossible to figure out the layout of the house within 15 minutes.

And those statues are placed on the chessboard, and perhaps if you look down from a high place, you can discover the mystery.

This was the clue he could find from the intelligence.

Robert's goal was clear: find a window that overlooked the statue, preferably on the highest floor.

Thinking of this, he quickened his pace and walked towards the stairs.

Just as he stepped onto the stairs, he suddenly heard a slight sound of footsteps behind him.

Robert's heart sank suddenly and he turned around quickly, only to see the young woman holding the candle standing not far away, looking at him expressionlessly.

The candlelight shone on her face, making it look exceptionally pale, and the sharp teeth at the corners of her mouth gleamed coldly in the dim firelight.

"Sir, the bathroom is over there." The young woman said coldly, her voice as piercing as ice.
