Chapter 620 Arya's Stableman
Chapter 620 Arya's Stableman
Grimm looked up and smiled, then ruffled her hair. "Arya, it's an honor to meet you again."
Arya put her little hands behind her back and said proudly, "Let's practice swordsmanship together sometime, and I'll show you my 'Dance of Water'."
"it is good."
Green ruffled Arya's hair again, looked behind her, and said gently, "Please get up."
Then his gaze fell on a short, thin, bald man with a hooked nose: "Bravos man, Sirio Forel the swordsman."
Cilio smiled slightly and gave a graceful bow: "Your Majesty, it is an honor to meet you. I wish you good health."
Arya immediately chimed in, "You know what, Grin, Syrio said I'm a very talented water dancer. When I get a few more years older, and my arms and legs get longer, I'll be able to surpass his swordsmanship. I really want to grow up quickly!"
Green glanced at her briefly. It had been over a year since he last saw her, and the little wolf girl seemed to have remained the same size.
Cilio smiled and said, "If you want to grow taller, you can't be a picky eater."
A suppressed laugh erupted from the crowd. Arya stomped her foot in anger, deciding to ignore Syrio for the day as punishment for revealing his secret!
After a pause, seeing Grimm's gaze shift towards her, the tall female warrior with a black bear emblem embroidered on her coat touched her chest and said, "I am Daisy Mormont, His Majesty King Grimm I, and Bear Island pays its respects to you."
Still excited, Arya temporarily forgot the ladylike manners taught by Sister Mordan and interjected, "Daisy was sent by my mother to escort me, and she is now..."
Green nodded slightly to Daisy, then took Arya's small hand and started walking, listening to her explanation as they went.
Finally, she said enviously, "Daisy's swordsmanship and her flail skills are both outstanding. She's even better than a man."
"Then you must work hard and take Miss Daisy as your goal."
"Well, of course!"
The others silently lined up behind them, but Green paused slightly as a foul odor wafted by on the wind made him frown.
He glanced over and saw a groom with long black hair and a dirty body tying up Arya and the others' horses not far away.
Green's eyes flickered slightly as he asked Arya, "Are you hungry? Is there anything you'd like to eat?"
Arya frowned as she thought, "Anything but cake is fine. I don't like desserts like Sansa does."
"I remember you loved crispy bread the most, do you still do?"
"Of course, it would be even better if you didn't force me to drink hot goat's milk like Lady Caitlin did!"
"We can save it up first and pay it back when we get back to Winterfell."
"You and I are on the same side!"
……
As the figures of the others gradually faded into the distance, the busy coachman stopped what he was doing, turned to look at Arya's bouncy back, and then his thick lips, like those of a giant worm, slowly and eerily parted.
Suddenly, the hairs on the back of Rams' neck stood on end, and he instinctively held his breath.
It was the king's gaze; he tilted his head back slightly.
Startled, the coachman immediately knelt down, splashing fine ice shards, his forehead almost touching the ground, to show his submissiveness and harmlessness.
Only when the footsteps gradually faded into the cold wind did he dare to raise his head.
Then, he unconsciously pressed his palm against his heart, which was still pounding rapidly.
After a while, he slowly exhaled. He judged that it was just an illusion. The king was only human and couldn't possibly be so perceptive.
His greasy, messy long hair covered his distorted face. He grinned, realizing that after playing the role for a while, he was becoming more and more like the original "stinky guy" in both body and mind.
His name was Ramsay Bolton, and he was originally the illegitimate son of a miller's wife from Dreadfort.
More than three years ago, after the death of Domilik Bolton, the heir to the Lord of Dreadfort, his only son, Ramsay Snow, became the new heir to the Lord of Dreadfort.
While Lord Roose Bolton was away with the Young Wolf, Greyjoy invaded the North, and rumors circulated that the Duke of Stark had died in King's Landing.
Therefore, upon hearing the news of the deaths of the Earl of Horwood and his heir who had followed him south, Ramsay secretly led the army of the Dreadfort to seize the Horwood family's castle and forced the widowed Countess of Horwood to marry him.
He judged that the Stark rule in the North was coming to an end, and he wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to consolidate his position as heir to the Dreadfort and become the new master of the North.
However, his dream was shattered instantly by the return of the Duke of Stark.
Ramsay was ambushed by Rodrik Caesar, a Stark retainer and knight. He saved his life by exchanging clothes with his servant, Stink.
The character "Ramsay," played by the stinky man, was shot and killed by Ser Rodrik. The stinky man himself was taken to Winterfell as a prisoner and eventually became a stable boy. Before returning to the North, Lord Roosevelt had already revoked Ramsay's claim to the throne, leaving him a fugitive.
Whether alive or dead, Ramsay Bolton became Ramsay Snow once again.
Thinking of this, Ramsay licked his lips and revealed a cruel smile. Sooner or later, he would take back everything he had lost and make the Starks pay the cruelest price.
He would skin every single Stark alive, he swore!
……
The king of the seven kingdoms needs a stable northern border.
Therefore, Green generously entertained all the Northerners who came to greet him, and even their grooms were given a share of good food and wine.
Once you enter the King's Road in the North, you'll often see Northerners lining the road to "admire" the King's appearance.
New spectators arrived today, and Green treated them to a meal.
Night falls.
The banquet inside the king's tent was lively, and Green listened patiently as Arya shared her "story".
Daisy Mormont was seated next to Arya. She had changed into a dark green velvet gown for the dinner, and paired it with a few simple pieces of jewelry.
Compared to her daytime attire of black leather armor and sword, she exudes less of a heroic air and more of a feminine elegance.
"Mom is so scary..."
Arya's little face scrunched up, and she complained, "I have to avoid Sansa as much as possible so that she won't have a chance to tell on me."
Green smiled, took a sip of his drink, and said, "I'm sorry, I can't think of any good ideas to help you either."
"It's ok."
Arya raised her chin and said smugly, "When I'm angry, I scare Sansa. She's a coward, and she avoids me too!"
Secretly observing the intimate interaction between the King and Arya, Daisy had to admit that Lady Catelyn was the wisest woman she had ever met.
Daisy believed that even if Arya hadn't left Winterfell on her own, Lady Catelyn would have chosen her as the first messenger to meet the King.
When Robert Baratheon was declared a usurper by Regent Grimm, the entire North was in turmoil.
This unease deepened upon hearing that the Targaryen princess had returned to the Iron Throne with a three-headed dragon.
Clearly, the war seventeen years ago has come to a final conclusion, and the Northerners were on the side of the usurpers.
Finally, Grimm I, who was crowned alongside the Targaryen queen, became the only way for the North to avoid war.
The people of the North are never afraid of war, but after Greyjoy's invasion and the defeat of the young Wolf Lord's southward campaign, they are extremely weak.
Moreover, that damned Stannis is colluding with hundreds of thousands of wildlings to plunder the northern lands.
Daisy took a deep breath. The kind Lady Catherine had given her the opportunity to get close to the King, and she had to make the most of it.
This was not only for the North and Mormont, but also for herself.
She gulped down the wine in her glass in one go.
……
In the frigid North, it's common for drunkards to fall asleep in the snow.
The next day, as dawn was breaking.
Early in the morning, the soldiers on patrol discovered several frozen corpses, including a groom that Arya had brought.
.........
.........
Tyrion stopped his horse in front of the Stark camp gate, with Ser Bronn, the temporary standard-bearer, holding the Rose Banner high behind him.
He cleared his throat, raised his voice to the crowd blocking his way, and said, "I, Tyrion, the Lord Commander-in-Chief of the Night's Watch and the Hand of the King, request an audience with Lord Eddard Stark, Duke of Winterfell!"
