Chapter 997 Groot: Is it possible that I can only say one sentence?

Star-Lord quickly defended himself, with a hint of urgency and helplessness in his voice: "No, I'm telling the truth! I'm just trying to tell our experiences in a more acceptable way. After all, who doesn't like to hear a story full of adventures?"

But Ultron did not respond immediately, instead turning his attention to Star-Lord's companions.

Ultron interrupted him: "Really? But the reactions of your companions tell me that your story is not entirely true. Either you have reserved some details, or you simply made it up. For example, the expression of this green-skinned friend told me that she was surprised by your narration, perhaps because she realized that you were weaving a complicated lie."

Star-Lord's heart sank suddenly, and he felt unprecedented embarrassment and frustration.

Rocket Raccoon also echoed.

"I'm Groot!"

Groot also said in an affirmative tone.

Faced with his teammates' reactions, Star-Lord could only smile bitterly.

He knew that this attempt at "lying" had failed, and next, they had to find other ways to win Ultron's trust, or at least find a way to survive.

Ultron looked at Star-Lord, seemingly waiting for his next move.

Star-Lord took a deep breath and decided to be honest: "Okay, I admit that I added some imagination when telling the story, trying to make it more attractive. But we are indeed an interstellar exploration team. Our goal is to explore the unknown and promote peace. I hope you can understand that in the face of an existence like you, we have to adopt all possible strategies to protect ourselves."

However, Ultron ignored what Star-Lord said. There was still no expression on his face, as if Star-Lord's frankness meant nothing to him.

He said coldly: "You have lost my trust. Whatever I will do to you from now on is your own fault."

Star-Lord's heart sank again.

He knew that their situation was precarious.

At this moment, Drax suddenly jumped up and rushed towards Ultron like an enraged beast.

There was a crazy light in his eyes, as if he wanted to pour all his anger into this punch.

The others all showed expectant expressions.

"Kill him, Drax!"

"Knock him down!" The Guardians of the Galaxy all started to cheer.

Drax roared and punched Ultron, however, his fist was caught by the Saiyan next to Ultron.

The punch was so powerful that it knocked Drax flying.

His body drew a long arc in the air and flew almost to the edge of the sky before falling heavily to the ground.

At that moment, the Guardians of the Galaxy fell into deathly silence.

The remaining Guardians of the Galaxy stared at the scene in front of them with wide eyes, their hearts filled with shock and fear.

They swallowed their saliva, as if even breathing had become difficult.

"Gudu."

Finally, someone couldn't help but make a swallowing sound.

Then everyone raised their hands in a gesture of surrender.

They knew that they had no chance of winning against this Saiyan.

Ultron had intelligent machines separate and imprison them.

He wanted to interrogate each person individually so that they would not be able to collude with each other.

Star-Lord, the man who claimed to be the bravest explorer in the universe, was now huddled in a small cell, his face filled with anxiety and fear.

His little belly trembled slightly with the rhythm of his heartbeat, as if silently telling of his inner panic.

He was afraid that he would be tortured. He was very aware of his own will. He was afraid that he would kneel down as soon as Ultron took out the torture instruments.

Ultron interrogated them all, however, to Ultron's surprise, except for Star-Lord, the other members showed amazing perseverance and determination.

Especially the tree man called "Groot", who kept repeating the same sentence: "I am Groot."

This sentence sounds simple and stupid, but the tenacity and perseverance contained in it deeply moved Ultron.

"What a funny guy."

Ultron couldn't help but admire secretly.

He had never seen such a stubborn prisoner. Even when facing the cruelest punishment, Groot still insisted on his belief. He expressed his respect and persistence for life with those simple words and mocked Ultron's torture on him.

In comparison, Star-Lord was not so good. As soon as the intelligent machine showed the knife, he told everything.

They are not Star-Lord's expedition team, nor are they legendary explorers, heroes who are considered friends by more than a hundred cosmic civilizations.

He was just a space pirate raider.
