Hogwarts: I'm a model wizard

Chapter 906 Malfoy's Situation, the Mystery of the Savior

Chapter 906 Malfoy's Situation, the Mystery of the Savior
Draco Malfoy's return to school caused an uproar among the students.

Gryffindor had the biggest reaction. That was the only Death Eater in Hogwarts whose identity was confirmed, and he just came back like that?
Even after hearing what happened from the professor, they didn't buy it.

"He must be pretending, this is a conspiracy!"

In recent times, this sentence has almost become Ron's catchphrase, and he never tires of recounting Malfoy's previous actions to anyone who is willing to listen.

It is said that he and Harry sneaked into the Slytherin common room late at night in an attempt to expose Malfoy's true identity.

The basis for this is the Gryffindor hourglass which has been reduced by another fifty points.

Apparently, they were discovered again.

But after all, allowing Malfoy to return to school was the requirement of the Ministry of Magic, and Headmaster McGonagall and the school directors had all agreed to it. It was not something that could be canceled just because a few students disagreed.

In addition, after Snape deducted several points severely, some of the voices finally became much quieter.

But Harry and his friends were so angry that they even ran to Hagrid and Kyle, asking them to oppose this decision on the professor's behalf.

Well, they have really grown a lot recently. They even know to find a professor instead of rushing around on their own.

Unfortunately... they found the wrong person.

"I refuse!" Kyle said without hesitation in Hagrid's cabin, and took a piece of meat from an iron can and fed it to a cat that was napping next to him.

"But you obviously know the truth." Harry was a little unwilling and subconsciously glanced at Kyle's actions.

That cat was really big, even bigger than a kleptoon, especially its eyes, which were unnaturally big and looked weird.

Moreover, it seems that normal cats will not eat raw meat with blood.

Harry was staring at it when the cat suddenly looked up. He startled him and quickly looked away, saying:

"You were also in the tower at that time. You should know that he was the one who put the Death Eaters into the castle. He is a complete Death Eater!"

"I know that, but Dumbledore knows that too."

Kyle said, feeding the civet another piece of meat, “He thinks it’s okay, why should I object?

"And most importantly, according to the time on the employment notice, I need to wait until after the Christmas holiday to officially become a professor."

Kyle glanced at Harry.

"So right now I'm just a graduate who's temporarily staying at Hogwarts and has nothing to do. No matter what you want to do, you should go find a real professor."

Harry subconsciously turned his gaze to Hagrid.

Speaking of professors... isn't this a ready-made one? And Hagrid was one of his targets.

"Hagrid..."

"I refuse too."

Before Harry could finish, Hagrid spoke first: "I believe in Dumbledore and unconditionally support every decision he makes."

The two people most likely to stand with them both chose to refuse. Harry was extremely disappointed and stood up angrily.

He couldn't understand what was going on, why everyone was on Malfoy's side, even those who knew about the incident.

Ron and Hermione were also very angry.

"I suggest you go find Dumbledore." Kyle sighed and said, "He is quite free now, so he should have enough time to explain the whole thing to you...if he is willing."

He was really not good at dealing with Harry, and this matter should be left to the more professional Dumbledore.

Harry turned around and left the cabin angrily. Kyle didn't know whether Harry understood what he meant.

But Hermione must have noticed something, because after Harry and Ron left, she looked at Kyle hesitantly, then turned around and followed them.

……

"Well, my guess was correct, wasn't it?"

After the three left, Kyle glanced at Hagrid and said with a smile: "See, they really came to find you."

It almost became a habit for Harry and his friends to look for Hagrid when they were in trouble. Whether it was for information or some other purpose, they always got something in return.

"They made a wrong idea this time. I really know nothing." Hagrid said helplessly and put a plate of rock cakes in front of Kyle.

"I even just learned that Malfoy has returned to Hogwarts."

This is true.

Although Kyle had told him the correct route to the door, Hagrid simply moved the bed to the garden that had been expanded by Kyle to save trouble.

Therefore, Hagrid, whose mind was full of dragons, had no idea what had happened in the school recently, let alone what happened to Malfoy.

"He's probably the first person to come back after being expelled." Hagrid asked, "Is he really all right?"

In fact, Hagrid still agreed with Harry in his heart and also believed that this was a conspiracy, a conspiracy by the Death Eaters and Voldemort against Hogwarts.

But he believed in Dumbledore more.

Including what he just said, that he unconditionally supports all of Dumbledore's decisions... and it was not to please Harry.

Dumbledore thought Malfoy could come back, and there must be a reason for that, and Kyle agreed, so Hagrid felt that there was no need for him to intervene.

Instead of spending this time, you might as well think about how to get along well with the fire dragon.

He has been living in the garden recently, but the dragons still don't get close to him, which makes Hagrid feel somewhat frustrated.

However, Hagrid did not think that this was the dragon's problem. It was their nature to be wary of wizards, which showed that they were all smart and awesome guys.

Thinking of the fire dragon, Hagrid could no longer sit still. He began to move his body frequently, and looked in the direction of the garden intentionally or unintentionally.

Kyle took a sip of tea and suddenly felt that his worries were a bit unnecessary. Hagrid didn't care about Malfoy at all. He didn't even know about him, so Harry naturally couldn't get any information from him.

A few minutes later, Kyle also left Hagrid's cabin and went into the castle.

The door of the principal's office was closed, and the gargoyles at the door told him that there were already three guests inside.

It should be Harry and the other two.

Apparently they accepted Kyle's contact and went straight to Dumbledore after returning to school.

Kyle had no intention of getting involved, so he nodded and left.

But when he passed through a corridor, he always felt that someone was staring at him, and the feeling was very obvious.

He looked around and his eyes stopped on the portrait of the Fat Lady.

No wonder...

Kyle grinned and walked down the stairs under the Fat Lady's angry eyes.

"Come back, you rude fellow...you who don't know how to appreciate..."

The Fat Lady was still yelling and cursing in the background, but Kyle pretended not to hear her.

He is now a professor, and in a sense he and the Fat Lady are colleagues, so it would be a bad idea for him to provoke her any further.

If the Fat Lady becomes autistic again, it will be difficult to explain to Headmistress McGonagall. Guarding the Gryffindor common room is a technical job, and few portraits can do a better job than the Fat Lady.

Kyle decided to go to the auditorium to have lunch first.

Another advantage of living in Hogwarts is that you don’t have to think about what to eat for every meal. You can just go directly to the Great Hall at mealtime, which saves a lot of trouble.

Here, Kyle happened to meet Malfoy again.

He was almost hated by everyone in the school at this moment, and even Mrs. Norris, who passed by, wanted to give him a slap.

There was no way. Other colleges didn't like him as a former Death Eater. They were all teenage wizards, at the age of being full of passion.

Death Eaters were hated to begin with, and considering that Malfoy let them into the castle, it was considered a sign of restraint that he didn't beat him up on the spot.

Even though the headmaster, professors and the Ministry of Magic all said that he had turned over a new leaf, it was impossible for them to accept him again in a short period of time.

Also, on the surface, he betrayed Voldemort in exchange for the opportunity to return to Hogwarts, so most Slytherins didn't like him.

Or rather, they hated Malfoy more than people from the other three houses.

If Snape had not arranged a separate dormitory for him, he might have been beaten half to death by Slytherin students on the night he returned.

Even his two former followers, Crabbe and Goyle, kept their distance from him.

However, there were also people willing to sit next to Malfoy.

Astoria Greengrass, I think that's her name.

Kyle remembered that she was a Slytherin girl two years younger than Malfoy, and the only one willing to sit next to Malfoy.

Apart from the two of them, the area around the dining table was empty, as if there was a foul odor in the air there.

Even the food had been taken away, leaving only a bowl of dry boiled potatoes in front of Malfoy.

When Kyle came in, he was in the process of chasing away the girl named Astoria, but the little witch... well, she didn't insist, and Malfoy walked away as soon as he chased her away.

But she also took an empty plate, put some other food on it, and placed it in front of Malfoy amid everyone's unfriendly looks.

"That girl is so un-Slytherin." Someone muttered behind me.

Kyle turned his head. "It's you guys. Long time no see."

Justin Finch-Fletchley, like his friend MacMillan, is also a Hufflepuff student, but one year below Kyle.

"We all heard about it," Justin said excitedly, "You're coming back to teach the ancient runes class, right?"

"Yes." Kyle nodded.

"It's a shame we didn't take this class," Justin sighed.

Kyle didn't find it strange.

There are only about ten people in the four houses combined for this course, and Hufflepuff has the smallest number of people, so it is normal that no one chose it.

"I've seen you several times, but you've always been sitting in the teacher's seat."

"Why, what's wrong with you?" Kyle asked.

"No, just wanted to say hello."

Justin said, "It's a pity that the professor can't participate in the Quidditch game. Since your main players graduated, the Hufflepuff team has lost two games in a row. It's like a warthog riding a broom... To be honest, I don't even want to watch the next game."

"Don't say that. They've tried very hard." Kyle patted his shoulder. "By the way, what do you think of Malfoy?"

"Dumbledore must be getting old and confused." Justin said bluntly.

"Whether Malfoy has really turned over a new leaf or not, he shouldn't be allowed to return to Hogwarts." McMillan said, "This is not a good thing for him either."

“That’s very pertinent,” Kyle said with a smile.

Hufflepuffs are not as extreme as Gryffindor and Slytherin, so they tend to see things more clearly.

Malfoy was indeed not fit to return to Hogwarts.

After saying goodbye to the two, Kyle walked to the teachers' seats and greeted Slughorn who arrived at the same time.

"I knew you would achieve something." The Potions professor looked very excited. "My God, I've never heard of anyone becoming a professor at Hogwarts before the age of 20.

"There is a dinner party today. If you can come, everyone will be very happy."

"Maybe next time, Professor." Kyle rejected his invitation. "I may have something else to do tonight. You know, this is my first time as a professor and I don't have much experience. I need to prepare a lot of things in advance."

"That's all right. I'm sure you can do it," said Slughorn.

He wanted to extend the invitation again, but Kyle changed the subject by talking about something else.

Slughorn's dinner was a good principle if one wanted to expand one's network, but it was torture if one had no such need.

Kyle didn't want to listen to a few people praising each other.

Halfway through lunch, Harry came in.

His face did not look very good. He was probably fooled by Dumbledore and did not get the answer he wanted from him.

A few minutes later, Dumbledore arrived.

When he saw Kyle, he was surprised at first, then sat next to him.

"You asked Harry to come to me?"

"Yeah." Kyle nodded. "Harry and Malfoy have never gotten along, so he definitely doesn't want him to come back. He found me today and wanted Hagrid and I to express our objections to you on behalf of the professor."

"Yes, he was very emotional." Dumbledore cut a piece of custard tart and put it in his mouth.

"You didn't tell him the truth?" Kyle asked, "Harry is the savior, the enemy of the mysterious man, and an indispensable force for us to deal with him."

Dumbledore paused with his fork in his hand.

To be honest, he had doubted that prophecy more than once.

Is Harry Potter really the savior predicted?

But so far, Voldemort's Horcruxes have basically been dealt with by Kyle, and their birthdays are on the same day, which also meets the requirements of the prophecy.

But the problem was that Voldemort had personally chosen Harry as his nemesis, and when Lily Evans' magic took effect and Voldemort's Killing Curse rebounded on him, this connection had already locked them together.

The prophecy also became complete at that moment.

So according to divination, Harry is indeed the savior, and Voldemort chose him personally.

But how to say it... Dumbledore always felt that Harry was becoming less and less important. Maybe after a while, Kyle would be able to kill Voldemort himself.

No, that's not right, he can't be killed.

Dumbledore seemed to have thought of something and shook his head repeatedly.

There is one thing that cannot be avoided. If it is not resolved, Voldemort will never die. This task still falls on Harry, and only he can do it.

But Dumbledore realized that he had not taught Harry for a long time, and he didn't know when he had stopped teaching him privately and sharing Voldemort's memories.

When did it end?

Dumbledore thought carefully about it, and it seemed that this was a time when he thought other things were more important than teaching Harry.

But why did he have such an idea...it seemed to be because of Kyle.

Dumbledore didn't say anything, just kept shaking his head and sighing, which confused Kyle so much that he couldn't help but move his chair aside.

Perhaps it was because the sound of dragging the chair was too loud that Dumbledore finally came to his senses.

"I'll tell him, but not now," he said. "Can you do me a favor?"

"Tell me about it." Kyle didn't agree directly, "If it's too difficult, I'll have to consider the reward."

"It doesn't matter. I still have some savings." Dumbledore said with a smile, "I hope you can help me keep an eye on Mr. Malfoy. It would be best if you could find out why he came to Hogwarts this time."

"Professor Snape probably wouldn't agree." Kyle said after a moment of silence: "He always thinks I want to do something bad to Malfoy."

"I will talk to him about this."

Kyle raised an eyebrow.

From what Dumbledore said, Snape didn't know the purpose of Malfoy's visit this time?

After all, if he knew, he would definitely tell Dumbledore, so there was no need for me to check it out.

"Professor, your Legilimency can't see through Malfoy's hidden memories?" Kyle asked.

Dumbledore shook his head.

"I do not use Legilimency on students."

"So just leave this dirty work to me, right..." Kyle curled his lips.

"Haven't you already reached an agreement?" Dumbledore said with a smile, "So you don't need to worry at all."

"Okay," Kyle said, "but I've tried it and found nothing. It seems that the You-Know-Who has also thought of the flaw of Legilimency."

"That would be troublesome."

"Well...it's not a big deal." Kyle continued, "Malfoy must know it himself."

"But he won't tell us, will he?"

"Not necessarily." Kyle put down the fork in his hand, "Malfoy has decided to betray the You-Know-Who. It's a real betrayal, but he has forgotten his decision.

"We just need to make him remember, and he will probably tell the truth on his own initiative... Professor, you know the counter-spell of the forgetfulness spell, right?"

"I'm sorry, but I can't." Dumbledore said calmly, "And as far as I know, there is no counter-curse to the Oblivion Charm... Why, don't you know?"

Kyle's face froze.

He really doesn't know.

The notebook Lockhart had given him was filled with details about Oblivion spells, with no mention of counter-spells at all.

He had originally thought that Lockhart simply didn't need to use a counter-spell... and neither did he.

"Is there any other solution?"

"St. Mungo's should be able to restore those memories. Lockhart was cured by them." Dumbledore thought for a moment, "But it is difficult for us to send Mr. Malfoy there without alerting anyone."

"That's easy, leave it to me." Kyle said, agreeing to Dumbledore's request.
