My Healing Games

Chapter 41 I will give it an ending.

Chapter 41 I will give it an ending.
"Han Fei, I'm sorry to trouble you again." Director Jiang greeted Han Fei warmly as he approached. "It's mainly because you're a good actor. Due to cost considerations, we used many new actors for this drama. Most of them can only act, but they can't perfectly master the characters."

"I don't really care, but wouldn't adding scenes abruptly affect the overall plot? Every minute of a movie is crucial. If I get too much screen time, the main character's development might not be as perfect." Han Fei was genuinely concerned for the production team.

"The script needs to be revised." Director Jiang's expression was somewhat serious: "Because of some plot issues, the victims' families are quite emotional."

Director Jiang is very strict with actors, but he becomes very approachable when dealing with the families of victims.

"Since we adapted the story based on a real case, we definitely had to consider the feelings of the victims' families."

"Yes." Director Jiang patted Han Fei on the shoulder: "Go get your makeup done. To give Wei Youfu a more three-dimensional portrayal, we need to add some everyday life elements."

Entering an empty room downstairs, which served as a temporary dressing room, Han Fei chose to sit down in the corner.

The makeup artist dressed him in the same clothes that Wei Youfu often wore before his death, styled his hair to be the same as Wei Youfu's, and made some minor changes to his makeup.

Holding the newly written script, Han Fei silently flipped through it when the door to the dressing room was pushed open.

"You still want to change things after everything's already filmed? I'm speechless!" A young man over 1.8 meters tall entered the dressing room, followed by a woman in her thirties.

"Who knew the deceased's family would change their minds at the last minute? They're making a scene outside the building now, and there's nothing we can do if they don't change their minds." The woman was carrying a bag and holding several documents and a script in her hand.

"I'm just wondering, why did you choose this show in the first place?" The young man vented his anger on the woman: "It has no viewership, no funding, and the actors are just cobbled together. Don't let this show ruin the reputation I've built up."

"This is the company's decision. There are very few similar themes in recent years, but there is still a chance that one will become popular." The woman muttered to herself, and then, as if afraid that the young man would hear, she continued, "Director Jiang Yi's ability is beyond doubt. Although he has never made a blockbuster film, he has never made a bad one either. Ah Cheng, just cooperate with the director to make the changes."

"You make it sound so easy." The young man called Ah Cheng was about to retort when a commotion broke out outside the apartment building, as if people were arguing.

Acheng and his agent ran out to watch the commotion, while Han Fei, who had already finished his makeup, was completely uninterested in it. He went straight to Jiang Yi, intending to leave as soon as possible after filming.

He no longer cares about those trivial matters. Instead of focusing his energy on these issues, he wants to think about how to catch the psychopathic killer who murdered seven people and truly bring justice to the victims.

Han Fei's spiritual realm has far surpassed that of most people, which can be attributed to that healing-themed game.

It was noisy downstairs, and it seemed that the victim's family members had entered the community. Director Jiang had no choice but to lead Han Fei to the filming location upstairs: "We want the audience to feel that Wei Youfu was once a living, breathing person just like them, with his own life. That way, when he is killed, the audience will feel more connected. So I hope you can add a scene of daily life before Wei Youfu dies."

"Understood." For others, playing Wei Youfu would be difficult, but Han Fei was different. He had seen Wei Youfu and remembered all of Wei Youfu's expressions.

A kind-hearted person's expression becomes even more heartbreaking after experiencing despair and pain.

"I will play his role well."

As Han Fei entered the filming room, all the information about Wei Youfu in his mind gradually flooded into his body, and at that moment he was no longer himself.

He worked overtime until late at night and returned home exhausted. His eyes were filled with weariness, but deep within that weariness lay a faint sense of satisfaction.

Sitting on the comfortable sofa, looking at the photo of himself and his wife, his eyes gradually softened.

He gently wiped the photo, planning to surprise his wife. In a few days, a large wedding photo would probably be hanging in the house.

As he was pondering where to hang his wedding photos, his phone started vibrating, and he answered the call.

His father's nagging and admonitions made him feel like a child again, and only in front of his father could he forget everything else.

"I understand, don't worry. You also need to take care of yourself..." After hanging up the phone, Han Fei turned and walked towards the bedroom. This was a certain death.

"Good fortune!" Han Fei hadn't gone far when he suddenly heard an old man's voice coming from the stairs outside the camera's view.

The thin, elderly man put down the banner he was holding and walked blankly into the filming location: "Don't go in, you're in luck..."

Han Fei, who was heading towards the room where he was doomed, stopped in his tracks. He remembered the voice; it was the voice of Wei Youfu's father.

Turning his head, Han Fei saw the old man clutching the banner in his hand, and the expression on his face was touching.

"Who let the victim's family in!" The cameraman and the production assistant grabbed the old man's arm, trying to pull him away.

"Wait!" Han Fei rushed over: "The old man is getting old, please don't do this."

He shielded the old man behind him, saying, "Take your time and talk it out."

"What's there to say? We had everything agreed on at the beginning, but now they've changed their minds and refuse to film. Isn't this just an attempt to extort money?" Ah Cheng leaned against the door frame, completely ignoring his manager's admonishing glance.

"You're talking nonsense!" The gaunt old man clenched the banner in his hand. "You initially said that making a movie would let more people know about this and help us find the murderer! That's why we agreed! But what are you making?! You're just making up complete lies!"

“We’re making a movie. Catching criminals is the police’s job. You’ve signed a contract too.” Ah Cheng, much taller than the old man, looked down at him. “We’ve already filmed the previous scenes. Just because of your unilateral disturbance, do you know how many things we have to change? Our film, my time—do you know how much all of this will cost?”

"You went back on your word first!" The old man became increasingly agitated. Hearing the noise, several more people carrying banners ran up from downstairs. They were all relatives of the victims of the human body puzzle.

"What's going on?" Han Fei was also puzzled; he hadn't expected the argument to be so intense.

“Most of the filming is over. The victim’s family must have seen our documentary and promotional materials.” Jiang Yi sighed softly and lowered his voice: “I really wanted to film it according to my own ideas, but the investors didn’t agree with my ideas. In reality, the murderer has not yet been caught, but they want to film a perfect ending.”

"A perfect ending?"

“Yes, the film can’t be released until the case is solved, so the screenwriter made up an ending.” Jiang Yi also said helplessly, “Simply put, the male lead’s plot armor kicks in at the last moment and he manages to kill the murderer by sheer luck.”

“Since it’s based on a real case, it’s best not to make up an ending. That would be disrespectful to the audience and to the victim’s family.” Han Fei glanced back at the old man. Even after all these years, he still goes to the police station every year. The pain of losing a loved one is like a shackle that he can never remove.

"There's nothing we can do. The filming has progressed to this point, and we can only hope that both sides can calm down, compromise, and talk things over slowly." Jiang Yi shook his head, looking worried.

"It's alright." Han Fei's eyes narrowed slowly, concealing the sharpness deep within them: "This drama will have an ending, we don't have to wait too long."
