My Healing Games

Chapter 5 You call this a relaxing and therapeutic game?

Chapter 5 You call this a relaxing and therapeutic game?

The dark figure that had been next to the sofa had appeared at the bedroom door at some point. Han Fei could vaguely make out the outline of a person. It was squatting on the ground with its head down.

Han Fei knelt on the bed, his body seemingly petrified, with a slightly moldy bright red quilt draped over his back.

"If I had known beforehand that this was a combat game or a puzzle game, I would have been mentally prepared. But the problem is that the shop owner and all the information online say it's a healing game. Who the hell knows how to escape in a healing game?!"

He stared intently at the bedroom door, his brain briefly freezing before quickly starting to work again.

What's done is done, and it's pointless to think about why he can't quit the game now; he has to survive within the rules!

To quit the game, two conditions must be met: first, the game time must exceed three hours; second, at least one task must be completed.

"I've already finished installing the fuse at Grandma's house. I remember when I opened my eyes in the game, the clock on the wall showed midnight, and the last time I checked the time was 2:44 a.m. So I just need to find a way to give myself a maximum of sixteen minutes to leave here!"

Han Fei's thoughts had never been so clear. He stared intently at the bedroom door, his muscles tense, and his five fingers gripped the kitchen knife firmly.

"I checked before, there was no one in the bathroom, and there was nowhere for anyone to hide. What exactly is this thing? Why would it open the bathroom door in the middle of the night?"

Han Fei only needs to hold on for sixteen minutes to survive, but the question is how to hold on for those sixteen minutes? Things are now getting worse, and he's not sure if the kitchen knife in his hand will be of any use. He's just gripping the knife because his body is instinctively seeking some psychological comfort.

Lying in bed late at night, I opened my eyes and saw someone squatting next to the sofa in the living room. In the blink of an eye, I realized that person had run to the bedroom door. Just thinking about this scene makes my scalp tingle.

Calm down! You must stay calm!

The inability to exit the game had a huge impact on Han Fei. Before he could recover, he was suddenly overwhelmed by fear. It was unbelievable that this ordinary office worker had not broken down under such repeated blows.

"The old man said that something had happened in this house and it was not safe. He was probably referring to the person squatting on the ground. The other residents in the building have not moved out, which means that this guy rarely leaves his room. If I can escape, I should be safe for the time being."

It's easier said than done. Han Fei looked at the blurry figure squatting at the bedroom door, but he didn't have the courage to approach.

"No! The situation isn't hopeless yet! It's blocking the door and can't get in, so I'll just stall for time. If it lasts sixteen minutes, I'll quit the game immediately. If it goes any further in, I'll just run out of the bedroom!"

In this extremely urgent situation, with his life hanging in the balance, Han Fei no longer cared about any beginner quests.

His gaze slowly moved, sweeping over the digital clock on the living room wall, but before he could even see what time it was, a chill ran down his spine!
Han Fei's pupils shrank, and he looked at the bedroom door again. The person who had been squatting on the ground had disappeared.

At this moment, Han Fei made the right decision. He didn't foolishly turn on the light, nor did he back away or look around to find the other person. Instead, he jumped off the bed and ran towards the living room door!

He knew that the guy had entered the bedroom, and staying there for even a second longer would be suicide. Rather than taking a chance or being curious about what the guy was, he should leave as soon as possible.

Racing against time, without stopping for a moment, Han Fei felt he had never run so fast in his life.

He rushed to the security door and opened it as quickly as possible.

The sound of the door opening and closing turned on the motion-activated lights in the hallway, casting a dim yellow light into the room. However, Han Fei did not dare to look back. He only glanced into the room out of the corner of his eye as he went downstairs.

In the dilapidated and desolate room, a person was lying under the bedroom lamp with their limbs twisted at an eerie angle. If Han Fei had turned on the light just now, he might have seen that person's pale and sinister face!
Han Fei slammed the door shut, afraid the other person would chase after him. A moment later, he heard a chilling sound coming from inside, as if someone was frantically scratching at the door with their fingernails.

"That thing wants to come out?"

Not daring to linger, Han Fei grabbed the kitchen knife and ran downstairs. He knew that the old man downstairs also had problems, but compared to the unknown, the old man posed less of a threat to him.

Han Fei went up to the third floor and smelled the familiar aroma of meat again. He found that the old man's door was half open and there were several black bags lying at the door. These bags were different from the ones he had seen in the refrigerator before.

He took a few steps back and bumped into the door of another apartment on the third floor. A cracked Bagua mirror fell from the door frame and almost hit him.

Turning his head, Han Fei discovered that the door of this household was covered with talismans, which looked terrifying.

"Is there not a single normal person in this building?"

Suffering from a series of stimuli, Han Fei's nerves were on edge. Just then, all the motion-activated lights in the corridor went out. No matter how loudly he made a sound, the lights seemed to be broken and never came back on.

In the dead silence, Han Fei clearly heard the sound of the door being slowly pushed open, and something was approaching in the darkness.

His heart was pounding faster and faster. Han Fei ran downstairs as fast as he could, feeling something chasing him in the darkness.

Gritting his teeth, Han Fei rushed down to the first floor in one breath, only to find that the stairwell door was locked and he could not leave the building at all.

Swinging his arm, Han Fei hacked at the door lock with the kitchen knife until darkness enveloped him, and something seemed to appear behind him.

As his neck was slowly tightened, Han Fei appeared to be insane, repeatedly hacking at the door lock, but in reality, all his attention was focused on the attribute panel.

A chill seeped into his body, and Han Fei could no longer hold the kitchen knife. Just as he was about to lose consciousness, the gray exit button finally lit up.

Three hours have passed!
"quit!"

Bang!
A loud bang echoed in my mind, the world spun around, and excruciating pain surged from the depths of my brain.

Suppressing the pain, Han Fei, the moment he regained control of his body, forcefully removed the game helmet with both hands and slammed it heavily onto the table.

As night fell, the projection screen on the wall showed that it was 3:01 a.m.

Han Fei entered the game during the day, but when he returned to reality, it was already late at night.

Exhaustion surged through his entire body, and Han Fei still felt a sense of unreality, as if he had not yet escaped from the game.

"Attention player number 0000! You have completed your first game in the first version of Perfect Life. Please speed up your exploration!"

A cold, mechanical voice echoed deep within his mind. Upon hearing this voice, Han Fei froze on the spot. He was certain that he had taken off his gaming helmet, and the voice was coming directly into his head.

"how is this possible?"

"Attention player number 0000! You have completed your first game. Please start your second game within 24 hours!"

"Why is this voice in my head?" Han Fei touched the back of his head, which was still throbbing with pain, and picked up the heavy gaming helmet again. Only then did he see that the helmet was full of bloodstains.

After thinking it over carefully, Han Fei vaguely remembered that after he put on the helmet, something seemed to have pierced his head.

"This could be considered attempted murder, right?" Han Fei took out his phone to call the police, but as soon as he had the thought, the voice in his head came again.

"Attention Player No. 0000! Do not disclose the game content to anyone, otherwise the black box will explode in your brain, ensuring your brain death within 0.001 seconds."

"Black box? Brain death?" Han Fei looked at the "leisure and healing" label on his helmet and suddenly felt his head ache even more.
