Chapter 622 The Vanished Clown

Chapter 622 The Vanished Clown

Around 5 a.m., as dawn was breaking, Han Fei arrived at the amusement park in the northern suburbs of Xinhu.

In today's rapidly developing technological world, with a wide variety of entertainment options, very few tourists would choose this kind of offline physical amusement park, let alone one that is not open to the public and refuses entry to ordinary tourists.

"It's good to be rich. In order to preserve memories, you can build your own paradise."

Han Fei looked at the vast amusement park within the railing with a very surprised expression.

He had originally thought the park would be dilapidated, but when he arrived, he discovered that this private park was fully equipped with all kinds of entertainment facilities and had many strange buildings. Its total area far exceeded that of a typical park.

Taking out his phone, Han Fei zoomed in on the map and made another new discovery.

The amusement park that Yong Sheng Pharmaceutical bought and the plastic surgery hospital that Yong Sheng Pharmaceutical built are located on opposite sides of the northern suburbs. The layout of the buildings is just like in the world of shrines. The two huge buildings support Fu Sheng's memories on the left and right.

"Both Fu Sheng and Fu Tian are no longer alive, so who is managing the amusement park now?"

Before being taken over by Yong Sheng Pharmaceutical, Xin Hu Paradise had been closed for many years, and there was not much information about it online. All that was known was that it was eliminated by the times due to poor management.

"There were no murders, no injuries, and very few accidents. Why would such a paradise become a permanent wound in Fu Sheng's heart?"

"Could it be that something disappeared along with Fu Sheng?"

The park gates were tightly closed, and the surroundings were deserted, with not a single person in sight. However, the park itself was brightly lit, and all the amusement facilities were operating normally, as if it were open 24 hours a day.

"How much electricity is wasted every day?"

Han Fei habitually checked the location of the surveillance cameras. He walked around the amusement park railing for over a hundred meters before finally discovering a blind spot in the surveillance.

"When the two cameras on the left and right are rotated to 30 degrees, there will be a one-second gap. I need to use this time to climb over the guardrail."

With his head down, Han Fei walked along the road outside the park like a normal morning jogger, keeping an eye on the surveillance cameras out of the corner of his eye.

As the surveillance camera started rotating, Han Fei suddenly accelerated, spotted the spot, and grabbed the railing.

Just as he was about to forcefully climb over, a clown suddenly appeared on the other side of the iron railing.

Han Fei didn't even see when the clown appeared. He was dressed in gaudy clothes, his face was covered with thick foundation and various bright colors, making him look strange and absurd.

Han Fei, who was holding onto the railing, stopped abruptly. As a public figure, he couldn't possibly continue to force his way into the amusement park while being seen by others.

Through the holes in the iron railing, Han Fei and the clown on the other side of the railing stared at each other, and he felt he should say something.

Good morning, I was just browsing.

Han Fei felt that the clown was strange. There was an eerie feeling about him, as if a ghost was hiding under the clown's makeup, not a person.

The clown tilted his head and looked at Han Fei with an exaggerated smile. He didn't accuse Han Fei of anything, but instead took out a blood-red balloon from behind him and handed it to Han Fei.

"For me?" Han Fei held the balloon and noticed a human face printed on it. From a distance, it looked more like a floating head than a balloon. "Is your amusement park's aesthetic a bit warped?"

When the clown saw Han Fei take the balloon, he clapped his hands happily and then staggered away.

"What a strange person." Anyone who can make Han Fei feel strange must be more than just strange.

Holding the balloon, Han Fei, now caught on camera, didn't bother sneaking in and headed straight for the amusement park's main entrance.

What time does your park open?

Han Fei arrived at the ticket hall, which was decorated with cartoon patterns and looked like a cottage in a fairy tale. A staff member in uniform was sitting at the ticket window.

"are you asleep?"

After calling out for a while without getting a response, Han Fei knocked on the glass window again, then reached his hand through the window, intending to pat the other person on the shoulder.

Before he could even get his hand close, the staff member's head fell off his shoulder and landed in his palm.

"Smart home assistant?"

The fact that a staff member's head suddenly fell off was terrifying in itself, but what was even more terrifying was that Han Fei didn't feel scared at all, and even took the person's head out of the window.

"Is there a problem? I didn't do this!"

Holding the head of the smart ticket seller, Han Fei walked out of the ticket hall and waved at the surveillance cameras for a long time, but no one came. He had no choice but to go find the park security guards himself.

After walking for a few more minutes, Han Fei finally saw the security booth. His patience wearing thin, he pounded on the window.

The security guard, who was fast asleep, was startled awake. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw the famous star Han Fei standing outside his window, holding a severed head.

"Snapped!"

The security guard fell off the chair, and he felt like he must be dreaming.

"Don't misunderstand, I'm here to find someone. I just happened to see that the head of your ticket-selling robot fell off!" Han Fei explained for a long time before the security guard finally came out of the room.

"Han Fei? Is that the Han Fei who was live-streaming from the hospital last night?" The security guard stammered, unable to speak. He really didn't expect to see the actor on the screen at the entrance of the security booth, which made him feel very unreal.

"How can you be a security guard if you're so timid?" Han Fei placed the ticket seller's head on the table. "What time does your amusement park usually open? What procedures are required to enter your amusement park?"

"This is a private amusement park, not open to the public." The security guard was a little embarrassed. "If you have an emergency, I can help you contact our supervisor, but I don't have the authority to let outsiders in."

After the security guard finished speaking, he made a few phone calls. Then, a staff member in uniform came out of the park and took Han Fei into the park.

The staff member seemed to have just woken up; his hair was messy, he looked listless, and an employee ID card was casually hanging around his neck.

"Teacher Han, what brings you to our amusement park so early in the morning?" The staff member, Tao Tao, was a fan of Han Fei and had heard of Han Fei's heroic deeds. So, upon learning of Han Fei's arrival, he immediately got out of bed and rushed over.

"You don't need to be nervous, I'm just looking around."

"Then I'll stay with you." Tao Tao wiped the sweat from his forehead and carefully stared at Han Fei. He knew very well that some people were actors on the surface, but in reality, they were more like the sons of death. Wherever they went, corpses would appear.

"There isn't a single visitor in your park, so why are all the rides still running normally? Isn't that a waste of money?" Han Fei asked, voicing his doubts.

"This was an order personally given by our former chairman, Fu Tian. Regardless of day or night, the park must be kept running normally. It seems he did this to... wait for someone."

"Waiting for someone?"

“Yes, he doesn’t remember who he’s waiting for either. He only knows that one day that person will return to the paradise and find himself when he’s lost.” Tao Tao spread his hands: “I don’t understand the specifics either. Fu Tian is a genius who changed the times. It’s normal that it’s hard for an ordinary person like me to understand what such a genius says.”

In the company of Yong Sheng Pharmaceuticals, the late chairman Fu Tian has been somewhat deified.

"Just because of a vague statement, you want to keep this huge amusement park running day and night?" Han Fei felt this was a bit outrageous.

Tao Tao gave a wry smile: "Actually, many people in the company share your thoughts, so since Fu Tian passed away, the amusement park has stopped maintenance and is only operating at a minimum level."

"I heard before that Fu Tian's will was altered. The real will seems to have mentioned this amusement park? Could that black box be related to the amusement park?" Han Fei said casually.

"That's definitely a rumor. I've been guarding this park for over ten years and have been to every corner of it. There's no such thing as a black box here," Tao Tao waved his hand.

"Has Fu Tian ever been to the amusement park before? Has he said anything? Has he done anything noteworthy?" Han Fei asked Tao Tao directly, without any hesitation.

“In the past, Chairman Fu Tian would also come to the park. Every time, he would sit alone on a bench in the center of the park, close his eyes and ponder, as if he was waiting for someone.”

"Waiting for someone?"

"Alas, but he ultimately didn't live to see it. When a person dies, it's like a lamp going out; immortality is truly too difficult." Tao Tao accompanied Han Fei as they strolled around the amusement park. A few minutes later, he received a phone call, apparently needing to participate in some kind of parade and had to leave.

After repeatedly telling Han Fei not to play on the amusement facilities, Tao Tao walked alone toward the west side of the park.

It seemed as if Han Fei was the only one left in the huge amusement park. He walked through the various entertainment facilities that made all sorts of noises and past all kinds of lights, and finally arrived at the center of the park.

Beside the huge fountain, Han Fei saw the park bench that Tao Tao had mentioned.

To his surprise, just as the fountain jets were falling, he noticed another person sitting on a bench opposite the fountain.

She was a kind-faced old lady who was very well-maintained and had an outstanding temperament, as if she came from a wealthy family.

When the old woman saw Han Fei, she looked very surprised. She seemed to remember something, smiled and waved to Han Fei, signaling him to come over.

Han Fei recognized the old man and walked around the fountain to sit on the same bench as him.

"Have I seen you somewhere before?" The old man's voice was warm.

"You must have seen me in a movie, right? I'm an actress." Han Fei looked the old woman up and down. He noticed that her hair was unusual. At first glance, it was almost entirely white, but upon closer inspection, the roots were black. It was as if she had started to reverse the aging process, defying some biological laws.

"I haven't seen a movie in many years." The old woman shook her head, then looked at her hands. Her fingerprints were different from normal, as if they had been worn away by something.

"Actually, you looked familiar to me too," Han Fei said, rubbing his temples. "How should I address you?"

"My name is Du Jing. This name originally belonged to my mother, but I want to live on in her place." The old woman didn't look up, seemingly still pondering something.

"Du Jing?" Upon hearing this name, Han Fei could no longer remain calm. He had seen this old man in the shrine's memory world!

The other party was Du Jing's biological daughter, the "drug" that Du Shu used as a test subject.

In reality, Du Jing helped Fu Sheng and died deep inside the plastic surgery hospital.

Later, Fu Sheng saved Du Jing's daughter and tried his best to grant her immortality. As for Du Shu's fate, Han Fei didn't know either, because no information about Du Shu could be found on the internet. It seemed that Fu Sheng had simply erased that woman.

"I'm trying my best to live on, but people around me are leaving one after another. If immortality means saying goodbye to everyone, then what's the point of immortality?"

“It’s boring for one person to live forever, but it would be different if everyone could live forever. I can’t even imagine such a world.” Han Fei looked at the old lady, paused for a moment, and then asked the question that had been on his mind: “Do you still remember Fu Sheng?”

"Fu Sheng...who is he?" The wrinkles at the corners of the old man's eyes deepened.

"This paradise exists because of him."

“The one who built the amusement park was Fu Tian.” The old man seemed to remember something: “But I did hear him say that he was waiting for someone in this amusement park. It seems that he made a promise with that person when he was very young, that no matter who got separated, they would come to this bench in the amusement park to wait for the other.”

"Has Fu Tian finally found that person?"

"No." The old woman gently shook her head. Just as she said this, the sun rose above the horizon, and all the lights in the park went out. "The Ghost Night is over. The parade will start soon. Would you like to come with me to take a look?"

"Ghost night? Parade through the streets?"

"There are many games left by Fu Tian in this park. Ghost Night is a game of catching ghosts, which starts at midnight and ends at dawn. Then there is the parade, where everyone takes the ghosts they catch and parades them through the streets, and finally puts them in the sunlight." The old man stood up: "Fu Tian liked all kinds of games. It is said that no one but himself could beat many of the games he designed."

Before the old lady finished speaking, the ground began to tremble, a large gate at the deepest part of the park opened, and a huge black float appeared on the track.

Sunlight streamed into the park from the east, and one after another, all sorts of whimsical floats drove out from the buildings on the west side.

Some of the floats were decorated with black and red flowers, some resembled a giant raven, and others were covered with balloons painted with human faces.

The parade seemed to be all about the bizarre, oppressive, crazy, and nightmare-like themes. Occasionally, you could see actors in elaborate costumes on the floats, operating the amusement park's rides and putting on various performances.

There were probably only Han Fei and the old lady as audience members in the entire park, but they still performed very hard.

"Isn't it amazing?" The old lady looked at the parade of floats: "Every time I try a new drug, I stay in the park for a night and look at everything that Fu Tian designed. It feels like he is still alive."

"Indeed, it's quite good." Han Fei's aesthetic sense was cultivated in the deep world. He remembered the decorations of every float and the appearance of the people on them.

After careful comparison, Han Fei did not find the clown he had met that morning.
