The maids came out one after another, lined up, and their pale faces and pairs of bleeding eyes appeared in front of Bu Zhenxin and Rao Shi.

With the appearance of a large group of female ghosts, the atmosphere in Yanghe Hall became more gloomy, and the temperature seemed to have dropped a lot.

Bu Zhenxin also felt a cold feeling on his back, and his heart was tingling. He held the blood-swallowing knife tightly, not daring to slack off at all.

"Kneel down, kneel down, kneel down!" Rao Shiqiang held on, made a fierce look, and shouted: "Don't make any mistakes, otherwise you will be killed without mercy!"

With a swipe of the ground, all the maids knelt down, lowered their heads, and said in their mouths: "Slaves and maids don't dare to do anything wrong, it's all up to the Taoist master."

Rao Shi was overjoyed, but he maintained his majesty on the surface. He pointed at the beautiful lady in palace attire who came out and shouted: "Woman Wu, what is your name and who are you?"

The beautiful lady in palace attire kowtowed and said: "Reporting to the Taoist Master, this humble maid is the Ning concubine Wang of Emperor Jiajing. She died in the palace incident together with Concubine Duan. The sixteen palace maids behind me also died because of that incident. It’s a dead matter.”

"Another concubine?" Rao Shi frowned and shouted: "What kind of palace change are you talking about? Tell me from the beginning!"

Concubine Ning Wang raised her head and asked, "Okay, Master Tao, if you have the patience, I'll start from the beginning. I was an insider in this palace incident, and I didn't die unjustly. I admit it."

Rao Shi and Bu Zhenxin looked at each other and thought to themselves, this female ghost is so elegant and generous, she seems to have seen the world.

"I wonder if Mr. Dao and this gentleman have ever heard of a case in which a palace maid murdered the emperor during the Jiajing Emperor's period?" Mrs. Wang lightly opened her red lips and spoke eloquently, "The palace change we are talking about, That's the thing. The most hateful thing is that we, the weak women who usually have no power to restrain a chicken, were not able to kill that foolish king!"

Rao Shi rolled his eyes, suddenly lit up, and blurted out: "Oh... you are talking about the Renyin Palace Change!"

This is the only case in history where a palace maid assassinated an emperor.Just this once, unique.

This incident happened in 1542 AD, on October 21, the 21st year of Jiajing reign in the Ming Dynasty. It was the highest-level criminal case in the history of the Ming Dynasty.

The executioners of the assassination were sixteen palace maids, and the target of the assassination was the then Long Live Lord, Zhu Houcong, the Jiajing Emperor of the Ming Dynasty.

That night, after turning off the lights in the palace, sixteen maids entered Emperor Jiajing's chamber and tied a noose around Emperor Jiajing's neck!
It's a pity that these palace maids were so panicked that they tied the rope into a dead knot. As a result, the knot could not be tightened, allowing Jiajing Emperor Zhu Houcong to save his life.

This incident was known as the Renyin Palace Incident in history.

However, the record of this incident in the history of the Ming Dynasty is very simple. It is just like dealing with a fight between gangsters in the vegetable market. It is passed down in one stroke: "Ding You in the tenth month of winter, the palace people conspired and executed, and Duan Concubine Cao and Ning Concubine Wang were executed." city."

There are only a few words in the official history, without beginning and end, and understatement, which made the later scholars and gossipists very troubled and unable to guess the truth.

Among them, the most widely circulated speculation among the people is that the court ladies, because they were not favored by Jiajing Emperor Zhu Houcong and did not get any rain or dew, were anxious and wanted to kill Zhu Houcong.

But historians strongly objected, saying that those court ladies were only fourteen or five years old, and the youngest was twelve or thirteen years old, and they didn't know anything about bed curtains.
There are different opinions on this public case, and there is no conclusion yet.

Rao Shi only knew about the Renyin Palace Change, but he didn't understand the details. He was so shocked when he heard the female ghost Wang's words just now.

Bu Zhenxin was a rough man, and he didn't know this history, so he asked, "The Renyin Palace Change? What happened?"

Rao Shi waved his hand and ordered the female ghost Wang: "Go on, don't hide anything. Why did you assassinate the then Emperor Jiajing? Was it because... you were jealous?"

"Jealous... maybe, but I am the one who is jealous." Wang sighed and said:

"So, I knew about this matter before, but deliberately didn't tell it, and even cooperated with these palace ladies. The Duan Concubine was unjustly accused. At that time, Zhu Houcong was kind to her, doting on her every night. But after the incident, , the queen took this opportunity to eliminate Concubine Duan, saying that she was also an accomplice."

Rao Shi trimmed his mustache, glanced around, and finally looked at Wang, and said: "So, these palace ladies were used by you to make murderous swords for you?"

"No, they killed the emperor because they couldn't stand the emperor's torture." Wang looked at the maids behind her and said: "There was a leader here at the time, named Yang Jinying, who was the personal maid of Concubine Duan, Master Dao. , you can ask her personally."

Rao Shi nodded and shouted: "Where is Yang Jinying? Kneel down and come forward."

A palace maid with big eyes came forward on her knees and kowtowed: "My slave Yang Jinying died of fish scales on her body. I hope that the Taoist master will make the decision for me!"

"Fish scales? What does this mean?" Rao Shi was stunned.

Bu Zhenxin's scalp went numb and he opened his mouth and said: "I know this, it is the punishment of Lingchi. It is said that Yuan Chonghuan died under the fish scales back then."

"General Yuan?" Rao Shi was silent for a moment and said, "I know, but what does this have to do with fish scales?"

Yuan Chonghuan was a hero, guarding the border and preventing the Qing soldiers from advancing. Later, Emperor Sizong of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Youjian, fell into Nurhachi's conspiracy and had Yuan Chonghuan executed in Lingchi for collaborating with the enemy and treason. The Ming Dynasty lost a rare general, which eventually led to its demise. So thinking about this past event, Rao Shi, as a Han Chinese, felt very sad.

Bu Zhenxin didn't know what Rao Shi was thinking, so he explained: "The most severe punishment in the past dynasties is Ling Chi. Ling Chi is also called being cut to pieces with a thousand cuts, and is divided into three levels: large, medium and small. Among them, the most complicated Ling Chi is to be executed Three days and three nights of torture, a total of [-] cuts were made on the prisoner's body, and the last cut was the death..."

He specializes in the art. As a family of executioners, Bu Zhenxin is naturally familiar with all kinds of punishments. He continued: "But [-] knives are a test for executioners. In order to ensure that these knives are fully cut, The executioner would cover the prisoner's body with a fishing net, tighten it so that the prisoner's skin protrudes from the mesh, and then cut only one piece of flesh in the mesh with each knife, thus ensuring..."

Rao Shi's scalp went numb when he heard it, and he waved his hands hurriedly, saying: "Stop talking, I understand."

This scene is so terrifying that you don’t need to see it with your own eyes, you can understand it just by thinking about it.

The souls of the sixteen palace maids fell to the ground crying together, shouting: "Master Tao made the decision for us. We died under the fish scales. We died so miserably!"
