Reborn as a snake, creating a magic method in the real world
Chapter 729 Mediation
At this time, Tang Sanzang was as anxious as an ant on hot pan because of what Sun Wukong said before he left. He paced back and forth in the room, unable to calm down at all.
Seeing Sun Wukong coming back, he no longer cared about being afraid of him and asked him hurriedly:
"Sun Wukong, what's the situation at Lingshan?"
Sun Wukong saw Tang Sanzang's worried look and said with a smile:
"Monk Sanzang, the situation at Lingshan is not good!"
"Zu Long led tens of thousands of dragons, and Di Jun led tens of thousands of monsters, and they beat the Buddhist sect so badly!"
"When the old fellow Tathagata saw that he couldn't win, he took his men and hid in the mountain protection formation of Lingshan, becoming a coward!"
"However, the mountain protection formation was not very strong. It was broken by us in a short time. It is completely useless!"
"Ten thousand dragons and ten thousand monsters are causing chaos in Lingshan. The scene is so spectacular!"
"What a pity. Buddhism has a backer. Even though old fellow Hongjun came out to mediate, he failed to completely destroy Lingshan. What a pity!"
"However, I, Old Sun, finally got some interest back from that old fellow Tathagata this time, haha..."
Sun Wukong spoke with great joy, but Tang Sanzang was stunned and trembling all over.
He murmured in disbelief:
"How could this happen... The sacred Buddhist mountain, Lingshan, actually encountered such a disaster and was almost destroyed!"
After muttering a few words, Tang Sanzang looked at Sun Wukong angrily and said:
"Lingshan is a place for Buddhists to practice Buddhism. The Buddhas there teach people to be good. I don't know how many good things they have done!"
"Why did you and those evildoers go to Lingshan to cause trouble?"
Seeing Tang Sanzang's indignation for Buddhism, Sun Wukong could not help but retort:
“Haha, how many good things have you done?”
"The Buddhist sect forcibly seized the dragon race's Dragon Transformation Pool. Can this be considered a good thing?"
"Buddhism enslaves many dragons. Can this be considered a good thing?"
"In your eyes, Buddhism is the embodiment of justice, but I don't know how many bad things it has done behind your back!"
"Just because you said that Buddhism is kind, does that mean that the bad things that Buddhism has done don't exist and we can't seek justice?"
Tang Sanzang was dumbfounded. He simply could not accept what Sun Wukong said. He shook his head repeatedly and said:
"No, that can't be the case!"
"Sun Wukong, you lied to me! Buddhism would never do the evil things you said!"
Sun Wukong saw Tang Sanzang's expression and sneered:
"Monk Sanzang, please stop deceiving yourself!" Just when Tang Sanzang was deeply hit by Sun Wukong's words and began to doubt his life.
In Lingshan of Xiniuhezhou.
The sacred place of Lingshan, which was once filled with spiritual energy and shining Buddha's light and was longed for by countless people, has now become a ruin except for a few important areas.
One by one, the Lingshan Buddhas were cleaning up the ruins, and it was obvious that each of them was in a very low mood.
In the Great Leiyin Temple surrounded by ruins.
The expressions of the Buddha's high-ranking officials, including Tathagata Buddha, Dipankara Buddha, Maitreya Buddha, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Manjushri Bodhisattva, and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, were extremely ugly.
Originally, the general trend of heaven is that Buddhism should flourish.
Buddhism flourished, and in the eyes of many people, it even surpassed Heaven to become the most powerful force in the world of Journey to the West.
Buddha Tathagata, Buddha Dipamkara and others also think so.
But today, the fact that Zulong and Dijun led thousands of dragons and monsters to cause chaos in Lingshan dealt them a heavy blow.
Only then did they realize that Buddhism was not as powerful as they had imagined.
At the same time, the incident in which Zulong and Dijun caused a disturbance in Lingshan not only seriously damaged the reputation of Buddhism, which was at its peak, but also affected the fortune of Buddhism.
After all, Lingshan is a holy place of Buddhism and it concerns the foundation of Buddhism. It is extremely important.
With such a terrible thing happening, naturally, Tathagata Buddha, Dipankara Buddha and others were in a bad mood.
After they discussed the incident of Zulong and Dijun causing trouble at Lingshan, Tathagata Buddha concluded:
"After encountering such a disaster, our Buddhist sect suffered an unprecedented heavy blow!" "Not only has our Buddhist sect's reputation been damaged, but even its luck has been damaged to a certain extent!"
"For the prosperity and future of Buddhism, we must pay more attention to the plan to obtain the scriptures!"
"Tang Sanzang's journey to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures must not allow any mistakes to occur!"
After making a summary, Tathagata Buddha looked at Guanyin Bodhisattva:
"Venerable Guanyin, the journey to obtain the scriptures is related to the future of Buddhism. It is too important. You must always pay attention to it and not let any accidents ruin the journey to obtain the scriptures!"
"Remember, if you encounter something difficult to handle, tell me immediately!"
"By then, I will send people to support you as quickly as possible to ensure that the journey to the West can proceed smoothly!"
Hearing the solemn words of Tathagata Buddha, Guanyin Bodhisattva felt as if Tathagata Buddha had pressed down a Buzhou Mountain on him.
She is under tremendous pressure!
Because Guanyin Bodhisattva knew very well that one would encounter all kinds of unpredictable difficulties on the journey to obtain the scriptures!
Just look at the disasters that have happened before and you will know.
The first disaster was when the eldest prince of Jinwu came to disrupt the situation.
The Heavenly Court sent out a lineup including Li Jing, the Four Heavenly Kings and Nezha, but they failed to win.
I thought sending out the Great Emperor Zhenwu would ensure victory, but I didn't expect that Vairocana Tathagata Lu Ya would come to disrupt the situation!
The second disaster was when the six-eared macaque came to cause trouble.
Guanyin Bodhisattva came with the Eighteen Arhats to subdue the Six-Eared Macaque.
As a result, the two Jinwu brothers called for help from the two Jinwu brothers who were holding the Demon King's edict, making Guanyin Bodhisattva very embarrassed.
The third disaster was even more exaggerated. It turned out that the former prehistoric overlord Zulong came to disrupt the situation!
Great men like Maitreya Buddha, Emperor Chong'en, Guangchengzi, etc., all suffered defeats at the hands of Zulong, and even treasures like the Human Race Bag and Fantian Seal were taken away by Zulong.
Guanyin Bodhisattva was relatively lucky. Zu Pang did not seem to intend to be cruel to her, and the battle was not very intense.
Therefore, she did not suffer as heavy losses as Maitreya Buddha and others!
Guanyin Bodhisattva already knows that whether it is Prince Jinwu, Liu'er Macaque, or Zulong, they are all related to an organization called the Holy Court!
This Holy Court organization seemed to have a grudge against Buddhism and kept sending people to target the Buddhist plan of obtaining Buddhist scriptures.
The three previous tribulations were already so difficult that Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva did not even dare to imagine how terrible the next tribulations would be.
She knew in her heart that the three things above were like three insurmountable mountains. But she took the initiative to ask the Buddha for the task of supervising the journey to the West!
She couldn't tell the Buddha that the journey to obtain the scriptures was too difficult and she didn't dare to take the responsibility, right?
Many thoughts flashed through Guanyin Bodhisattva's mind in an instant, his heart was filled with bitterness, and the pressure was as heavy as a mountain.
But there is no other way. I have to grit my teeth and keep going on the path I have chosen, no matter how difficult it is!
Guanyin Bodhisattva collected his thoughts, nodded seriously to the Tathagata Buddha, and said:
"Buddha, I know the importance of the journey to obtain the scriptures, and I will go all out to ensure that the journey to obtain the scriptures goes smoothly!"
Hearing the assurance of Guanyin Bodhisattva, Buddha Tathagata nodded with satisfaction: "Very good. Venerable Guanyin, you go..." After Guanyin Bodhisattva came out of Lingshan, he glanced in the direction of Tang Sanzang.
Tang Sanzang was trapped at Yingchou Gorge because he had no mount and could not move forward.
She thought for a moment, then rode the lotus cloud straight to heaven.
After arriving in Heaven, Guanyin Bodhisattva explained her purpose and then went to the Imperial Stables in Heaven.
Since the Little White Dragon has now become the king of the dragon clan and has an extremely respected status, it is naturally impossible for him to be Tang Sanzang's mount anymore.
Guanyin Bodhisattva could only settle for the next best thing and go to the Imperial Stables to pick out a nice Pegasus as a mount for Tang Sanzang.
After choosing for a long time, Guanyin Bodhisattva finally selected a Pegasus that she was quite satisfied with.
At that moment, she took the Pegasus and headed straight for Tang Sanzang's residence.
Tang Sanzang was originally in a very bad mood because of what Sun Wukong said.
Seeing that Guanyin Bodhisattva came personally to give him a horse, his mood immediately improved a lot.
Tang Sanzang first thanked Guanyin Bodhisattva for sending the horse, then thought of what Sun Wukong said, and said to Guanyin Bodhisattva:
"Avalokitesvara, Sun Wukong said that the Buddhist sect forcibly seized the dragon race's Dragon Transformation Pool and enslaved many dragons, doing many evil things. That's why the dragon race and the demon race are causing trouble in Lingshan. Is this true?"
When Guanyin Bodhisattva heard Tang Sanzang's words, her face instantly darkened.
Why does Tang Sanzang bring up things that are not relevant to the topic?
How should I answer this question? If I admit it, I will be slapping myself in the face.
If you don't admit it, Sun Wukong is watching you in the sky!
If I lie in front of Sun Wukong, how could he not expose me?
Therefore, Guanyin Bodhisattva could only perfunctorily say:
"Master Sanzang, what is going on here? If you ask your heart, you will naturally have the answer..."
After saying this, Guanyin Bodhisattva flew away as if escaping for his life.
After Guanyin Bodhisattva left, Tang Sanzang stood there, thinking hard.
“Avalokitesvara asked me to ask myself, what does this mean?”
After thinking for a while, Tang Sanzang's eyes suddenly lit up.
"Could it be that Guanyin Bodhisattva thinks that my faith is not strong enough?"
"Yes, that must be the case!"
"Buddhism has always taught people to be good, so how could they do such evil things?"
"I actually doubted Buddhism because of what Sun Wukong said. This is really wrong!"
In the sky, Sun Wukong saw that after Tang Sanzang heard the perfunctory words of Guanyin Bodhisattva, he looked as if he had suddenly realized something, and he couldn't help but smiled and shook his head:
"What a hopeless idiot!"
Now that Tang Sanzang had a Pegasus as his mount, he could finally continue his journey.
Along the way, he did not encounter any danger and spent many days in peace.
On this day, near dusk, Tang Sanzang came to a mountain.
He saw an ancient temple on the mountain and was filled with joy.
When he got closer, Tang Sanzang discovered that the name of this temple was "Guanyin Temple".
In Tang Sanzang's view, Guanyin Bodhisattva had done him a great favor.
Therefore, when he saw that this temple was dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva, he was even more delighted:
"Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva gave me some advice a few days ago, but I haven't had the chance to thank her yet. Now that I'm at the Guanyin Temple, I must pay my respects to the Bodhisattva and express my gratitude to her!"
After entering the Guanyin Temple, Tang Sanzang told the monks in the temple that he had received the grace of Guanyin Bodhisattva and wanted to pay homage to her.
The monk immediately opened the door of the Guanyin Hall and allowed Tang Sanzang to go in and worship.
In order to show his respect to Guanyin Bodhisattva, Tang Sanzang specially changed into the brocade cassock which he rarely wore.
This Jinlan cassock is woven with the magical silk spit out by the immortal ice silkworms, and is adorned with treasures such as Ruyi beads, Mani beads, Dust-Repelling beads, Wind-Calming beads, and relics.
When Tang Sanzang put on the brocade cassock, he was surrounded by shining Buddha's light, just like a great monk.
Seeing this scene, the monks in the Guanyin Hall were all stunned.
They have seen many robes in their lives, but they have never seen such a magical treasure as the Jinlan Robe!
The monks of Guanyin Temple could not help but exclaimed:
"The cassock that Tang Monk is wearing doesn't look like something that a mortal can own. Could it be that he got this precious cassock from the Buddha?"
There was a monk with a quick mind who, when he saw the brocade cassock on Tang Sanzang, realized that Tang Sanzang was of extraordinary status.
The monk immediately left the Guanyin Temple and went to report to Elder Jinchi.
Elder Jin Chi was very surprised when he heard the monk's report:
"You said that a Tang monk wearing a divine robe came to our temple?"
"When that Tang Monk comes out of the Guanyin Temple, you must immediately invite him to my place for tea!"
Upon hearing Elder Jin Chi's instructions, the monk immediately left in a hurry to invite Tang Sanzang.
Not long after, Tang Sanzang was invited by the monks to Elder Jinchi's meditation room.
Elder Jin Chi was already 270 years old and had seen a lot, but when he saw the gorgeous cassock Tang Sanzang was wearing, he could hardly believe his eyes.
Elder Jin Chi has lived for 270 years and has worn countless robes during this time.
But those originally exquisite robes looked like rags compared to Jinlan's robes!
The brocade cassock is extremely precious to Buddhist disciples.
Elder Jin Chi was attracted after just one look.
He greeted Tang Sanzang in a daze and chatted with him for a few words.
Then, Elder Jin Chi made a move that was completely beyond Tang Sanzang's expectations.
He actually knelt down in front of Tang Sanzang with a plop, and cried,
"Master Sanzang, seeing you made me realize that I have lived these 270 years in vain!"
Tang Sanzang was greatly shocked by the appearance of Elder Jin Chi.
He hurried forward and helped Elder Jin Chi up.
Then, Tang Sanzang asked Elder Jin Chi with a confused look on his face:
"Old Abbot, what's wrong with you?"
Elder Jin Chi was still crying:
"Master Sanzang, I have worn hundreds of robes in the past, but today when I saw the precious robes you are wearing, I realized that what I wore before were just rags!"
"The reason why I am crying so hard is because I am not blessed enough to wear such a precious robe like the one you are wearing, Master Sanzang!"
Is it because of this gorgeous robe?
After hearing what Elder Jin Chi said, Tang Sanzang was silent for a long time. Considering that Elder Jin Chi was an old Zen master who had practiced for two hundred years, out of respect and pity for the old Zen master, Master Sanzang slowly said:
"Old abbot, you don't have to be so sad. Since you are interested in my robes, I will lend them to you."
"As long as you can return the cassock to me before I leave tomorrow..." (End of this chapter)
