Conan: Science Cartoonist Kudo Yuji

"Caiping? Caiping!"

While it was still barely light and everyone around them was sound asleep, Kudo Yuji and Masuyama Kenzo, hearing the exclamations coming from the shrine courtyard, quickly rolled out of their blankets.

"Ok?"

It wasn't until the two of them peeked out from under the windowsill that they realized there was a second person beside them.

"Ms. Miyano, what's wrong..." Kenzo Masuyama narrowed his eyes, looking at the girl who quickly covered her stomach with her hand and then her face turned red, and nodded slightly: "Is your stomach uncomfortable?"

"Actually, I was woken up by that person. I was originally going to try to endure it a little longer, but it's too cold today."

Kudo Yuji rubbed his arms tremblingly, wrapped the hem of his kimono around his feet, and slowly moved to the side of the bedding. After covering himself with his own quilt, he moved back to the window.

What is he shouting?

"That doesn't sound like a good thing."

Kenzo Masuyama pulled out a pistol and tucked it into his pocket, instructing, "Wake up Ms. Marina and the others. If I don't come back, don't open the door for anyone."

"You're really reliable, Mr. Kenzo." Kudo Yuji patted his chest. "Leave it to me."

However, Yuji didn't need to wake the three of them up again; the slight chill that Masuyama Kenzo brought in when he went out was enough to wake them up.

"Why did it get so cold all of a sudden?" Compared to the boys, Marina woke up quickly. She didn't dawdle and sat up right away.

"What happened?" Kuromaru Yata was still lying in bed when he felt Jintaro's foot stuck in the back of his leg. He pursed his lips and stopped the urge to kick him out.

"I don't know, but I have a feeling... it might be a murder." Kudo Yuji judged according to his habit, but found that the three of them looked at each other for a few moments, seemingly wanting to say something but holding back.

"What, trying to argue with me again?" "No, we've gotten used to your jinxing after more than a year."

Thanks to this guy, their little gang encounters all sorts of strange incidents almost every week. They either kill people with briefcases, dismember them and hide them by the lake to try to escape punishment, or they kidnap people. Kudo Yuji is always right.

"I am back."

Kenzo Masuyama knocked on the door and was let in. He then said to Yata Kuromaru, "Someone has died. The body is lying behind the offering box."

"Judging from your expression, he must have died a rather unseemly death."

Kuromaru Yata knew that Fujimine Yuuji and Kudo Marina must be incredibly curious right now, so he urged Masuyama Kenzo to hurry up and tell him.

"His clothes were intact, there was no blood on his body, and he died peacefully."

“Peaceful death? What kind of death is that…” Jintaro looked at Yuuji, noticing that he also shook his head, and suggested, “Why don’t we go take a look?”

"It's best not to go out before the police arrive, otherwise you'll easily be suspected of being the murderer."

Yata immediately interrupted Shintaro, then glanced at the people in the room: "None of you went out last night, did you?"

“Um… I went to the restroom, and Yuuji went with me.” Marina raised her hand: “I’m a little afraid of the dark when I’m alone.”

"We didn't dare go to the toilet inside the shrine. Instead, we went out of the shrine and found a grove of trees at the foot of the mountain."

Yuuji didn't care about his grandmother's girlish feelings: "No one can say for sure whether that old man will have any problems."
