"Your female companions were simply taking a walk and enjoying themselves by Lake Hamana. As for whether they returned to their rented place, I'm not entirely sure."

Yuuji, or rather "Ms. Miyano," ignored the man's invitation and stood firmly beside Marina, using her golden hair to protect herself.

Perhaps decades from now, Japan will see school incidents like Amuro Tooru's bullying of blond mixed-race children, but in the second year after the founding of the People's Republic of China, and less than five years after Japan's surrender, mixed-race children are absolutely second-class citizens on Japanese soil.

This situation will continue for about ten years until the proliferation of mixed-race children, caused by Americans breaking into ordinary families and committing rapes, leads to widespread abandonment of these children by ordinary families, at which point the blond second class will be reduced to the lowest level.

“So there’s another lady here. How rude of me, I was so focused on showing myself off to this beautiful lady.” The man placed his hand on his chest. “My name is Leon, Leon Martin. I am a devout Catholic from France.”

It really reflects the stereotypes of Westerners. It seems that for them in this era, religious issues are much more important than national issues, so that they can find out if the other person is a heretic and how to chat with them.

“France? I thought you were American.” Yuuji rolled his eyes, grabbed Marina’s arm and shook it: “Miss Campbell is American.”

“Miss Campbell? That’s quite unexpected. I thought you were Japanese.”

Leon Martin's attitude made the faces of several Japanese people present darken, including the two policemen, but they quickly composed themselves and made it impossible to tell.

"I hope the two young ladies can tell me more about Kyle and Lina. Their sister, Sister Sersel, runs an orphanage in Tokyo and has taken in many abandoned children."

“Is that so? Sister Sersel is so kind.” Marina looked at the silent Yuuji beside her: “Miyano, do you remember what happened to those two ladies, Kyle and Rena back then?”

"They were strolling around Lake Hamana, looking at the flowers and birds, and I didn't see any strange men approaching them. But we went to buy groceries soon after, and I don't know what happened to them after we left the rental company."

Yuji looked out the window at Lake Hamana in the distance, wondering if this was the beginning of a new incident. "The police searched around the lake but didn't find them. All we found was their handbag." Two Japanese policemen stepped forward and took out the wallet: "It was ransacked, and some cosmetics were spilled inside."

"Where's the money? Is your wallet missing?"

Marina, who had witnessed Yuuji's deductions many times, immediately asked about the most important thing: money.

“All the money in my wallet is gone—US dollars, Japanese yen, even fiat currency. They must be some really skilled robbers.” Leon Martin was about to mention what else was missing from his bag when Marina interrupted him.

“Wait? They also have fiat currency in their wallets…” Marina glanced back at Yuuji, and only after he nodded to indicate that she could speak did she boldly turn back.

"Um, this shouldn't be considered robbery, it's more like a planned murder."

Leon Martin's eyes widened: "What? How is this possible? The money was clearly stolen."

“Because this guy even steals legal tender, he's unlikely to be a robber.” Yu Er poked his head up.

"This wallet clearly has compartments, and different types of money should be kept separate, right? But they didn't even look and ran off with all the money. If they were so scared, why didn't they just take the wallet with them?"
