Conan: Science Cartoonist Kudo Yuji

"Your foie gras? Why is it so black? Did you char it?"

Sano watched as Kudo Sayoko used tongs to transfer what she thought was cooked foie gras from the frying pan to a plate, along with side dishes and sauce. Noticing that the surface of the foie gras looked black, Sano asked a question with some concern.

With his status, he's naturally tasted all kinds of foie gras, but this is the first time he's tried a dish with this color, so he asked about it out of concern.

"Who said that? This is rice cake style, the flavor is just that unique. Don't talk nonsense if you haven't tried it."

Kudo Sayoko put her hands on her hips guiltily, saw Sano raise an eyebrow, and then glanced at Hattori Mamoru.

"Alright, it's just a quick bite anyway. Here's what we'll do: you take the food, I'll get the red wine, and we'll take it to my room. While you're at it, tell me what exactly 'Mihana style' is..."

"Well, what if I told you about Sasaki Kiyori?" Sano looked at Sayoko with interest: "You guys are detectives who infiltrated here too, right? Isn't that what you're after?"

"You knew that, yet you still dared to ask me to make such an expensive foie gras dish?!"

"Who told you to be so good-looking, even though your cooking isn't that great?"

"Hey, I'm pretty good at making Japanese food too, okay!"

"Then make something for me to eat. Make your rice puff pastry, and bring it to my room, the fourth bedroom on the right on the second floor." Sano glanced at Hattori with some disdain, then emphasized, "You'll do it alone." With that, he turned and left the kitchen, much to the relief of the five real chefs.

"Is this guy out of his mind?" Hattori Mamoru frowned. "Sayoko, don't go. I believe Conan can find out what we want."

He absolutely could not watch his younger sister suffer losses by dealing with a man like Sano for the sake of information. This was a matter of his dignity as an older brother. The two families had always had a good relationship, and even if his father would agree, he could not.

“I feel like you were mentally criticizing Hattori-san again just now…” Kudo Sayoko sighed, “Why didn’t he take a liking to you, Mamoru-nii? It would be so much better if you went to keep him company while I was out there to support you.”

"Huh?" Hattori hurriedly said, "You don't want to go, do you? No, that kind of man definitely doesn't have any good intentions."

"So that's a bad idea? What bad idea?" Sayoko squinted at Hattori Mamoru, whose face had turned from black to dark red. "Mori-nii, something seems off about you. Last year when I came to Osaka, you would blush when we talked about kissing. How come you suddenly know so much?"

"You...have a girlfriend?"

"No!" Hattori immediately retorted, only to find Sayoko's expression suddenly turn terrified.

"I...I'll go cook first."

"So you're still going!"

"Because of that person, I feel like I know them."

Hattori paused, not understanding what this meant. Before the meal, the head chef had mentioned that Sano was also an important figure in the Sasaki family, but had Sayoko and Sano met before?
