Chapter 806: Creating Buddhism!
"Why do you and I have to fight here?" Dipamkara Buddha couldn't help but sigh.
Xie Que also nodded: "Okay!"
In an instant, the two of them tore apart the Buddhist world and fell into the void.
At the same time, a long-burning lamp appeared on Lingshan Mountain, shining brightly.
The three wicks of "past, present and future" are lit at the same time, intertwined and entangled with each other.
Three points of spiritual light penetrated the realm and sank into the body of the Buddha Dipankara, hoping to anchor the Buddhist world in time and space.
So that no matter which era the Buddha Dipamkara went to, he could return to the present world.
At the moment when the second fell into the endless void, the whole world trembled!
Immediately afterwards, a boundless river of time and space suddenly rose up in front of them.
This long river of time and space is like a huge band of light, sparkling and shimmering, with the cosmic light rolling like surging waves.
The fierce fight between the two was magnified to the extreme at this moment.
Their powers collided with each other, causing huge waves in the long river of time and space.
The impact of this struggle quickly spread from the present time and space to the past.
Like ripples, it spread to different time points.
The three rings on Dipamkara Buddha's head suddenly burst into dazzling light.
Three Dharmakāyas representing the past, present, and future were also activated at this moment.
They blend into each other and become one.
The power of Dipamkara Buddha reached its peak at this moment. He raised his hand and waved it. The cosmic light in the long river of time and space immediately revealed the scene of the underworld.
In the underworld, a scene of chaos and rebirth appeared before our eyes.
Everything here is still in its infancy, as if it is the source of time.
The palm of the Buddha Dipankara pressed down horizontally, trying to completely suppress the blood species that Qici had sent here.
This will destroy the timeline and prevent Xie Que from appearing forever.
Faced with such an offensive from Dipankara Buddha, Xie Que could only sneer.
At this moment, the black entry "Cause and Effect Are Clear" in his mind suddenly burst into light.
Its effect of ignoring cause and effect takes effect at this moment!
Dipankara Buddha originally thought that this attack could annihilate the void and completely eliminate the blood race, but this was not the case.
The blood species disappeared without a trace at this moment, as if it had never existed.
This sudden change shocked Dipankara Buddha. He was full of disbelief: "How could this happen?"
The shock in his heart was beyond words. The situation that had originally seemed certain to win was reversed in an instant.
At this moment, after his attack to anchor the causal line failed, Dipamkara Buddha couldn't help but feel panic in his heart.
His original plan was to suppress the origin of the sea of blood, eliminate the source of Xie Que's power from the root, and thus defeat Xie Que in one fell swoop.
Now the plan had obviously failed, and it had failed so completely that he was completely caught off guard.
"Since I failed, let's see how powerful my attack is..."
Xie Que's voice sounded softly in the void, as if with a hint of teasing.
He remained calm, with the corners of his mouth slightly raised, as if he didn't care at all about Randeng's astonishment.
As he spoke, he raised his palm and moved back along the direction of the flow of the cosmic light.
In the blink of an eye, Xie Que traveled through endless time and space, tracing back to the "late period of ancient Sanskritism" before Randang attained enlightenment.
In that distant era, Dipamkara Buddha had not yet attained Buddhahood, but he was also a senior celestial monarch.
"You are too naive!" Seeing this, Dipankara Buddha sneered.
He naturally understood the intention of Xie Que's attack, but he was confident enough in his own strength.
However, Xie Que's attack, although seemingly of ordinary power, actually contained a hidden secret.
Although he failed to directly harm Randeng, Xie Que could not help but raise his eyebrows and showed surprise: "You are actually from the Earthly Immortal Realm?"
Facing Xie Que's questioning, Dipankara Buddha just smiled slightly and said nothing.
Suddenly, a purple-gold bowl appeared in his hand. He waved his arm.
The purple-gold bowl suddenly pressed down with unparalleled power.
Seeing this, Xie Que felt uneasy and thought to himself that something was wrong.
Although he didn't know what this purple gold bowl was, he had an idea.
If they were suppressed, the consequences would be disastrous.
Without hesitation, he flashed and disappeared directly into the long river of time.
However, it is obvious that Dipamkara Buddha will not give up.
He chased relentlessly, also stepping into the long river of time to continue chasing Xie Que.
The figures of the two people shuttled through the torrent of time, sometimes intersecting, sometimes running parallel, making it difficult to tell who will win.
The fight lasted for a long time. Both sides tried their best, but they were still unable to defeat the other completely.
It was unknown how much time had passed before Xie Que stopped walking. He stared at the Buddha and said:
"In that case, let's discuss who is superior based on the Buddhist cause and effect."
Upon hearing this, Dipankara Buddha nodded slightly to show his agreement: "That's good."
Before they finished speaking, the two of them attacked at the same time. They each used the rhyme of cause and effect as a guide, transformed themselves into forms and plunged into many key nodes in the history of Buddhist evolution.
These key nodes, like crossroads in Buddhist history, each carry important cause and effect relationships.
Every move they make may trigger a series of chain reactions and change the development trajectory of Buddhism.
On those timelines, new battles are about to begin.
The history of Buddhism will also undergo unpredictable changes because of their intervention.
……
When the Shamanic order was first established, many theories were still to be perfected.
Therefore, during this period, debating and preaching the sutras became compulsory daily courses for monks.
Inside the Kongxing Temple, the monks sat together on the ground.
In the very center is the Chicken-Crowing Bodhisattva.
At this moment, the Bodhisattva Cock-Crowing was preaching to the monks: "All living beings have Buddha nature and need to practice according to the Dharma."
“This is called Mahayana Buddhism, which is the principle practiced by all monks.”
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Suddenly, a figure inside stood up and said, "Although what the Bodhisattva said is true, the so-called Mahayana Buddhism may not necessarily become the mainstream, right?"
"Just think about what the Bodhisattva said just now: clinging to emptiness or existence is both false."
"I think that kalpas are also the true nature of Buddha nature. If there were no kalpas, how could we talk about the manifestation and sublimation of Buddha nature?"
His remarks caused the monks to look at each other in surprise and confusion.
Because this monk's argument contains a theory that shakes the foundation of Mahayana Buddhism, which is very different from the view emphasized by Chicken-Crowing Bodhisattva.
After hearing the monk's answer, Jiming Bodhisattva was not angry.
Instead, he smiled and asked gently, "May I ask what your Dharma name is?"
The monk put his hands together and answered respectfully: "I have no fixed place to live or travel, so I call myself Wu Ding."
The Chicken-Crowing Bodhisattva nodded. He did not look down on Wu Ding because of his identity as a monk.
Instead, he began to debate with him in a serious and solemn manner.
As the two men's discussion deepened, their differences gradually emerged.
Other monks in Kongxing Temple were also attracted by this wonderful debate and gathered around to listen to their views. As time went on, the debate became more intense and everyone's emotions were aroused.
Some monks began to support the view of the Chicken-Crowing Bodhisattva, believing that the Buddha should be compassionate.
Actively save all living beings, help them escape from the sea of suffering, and ultimately achieve Buddhahood.
Other monks tend to agree with the view of the monks without fixed terms.
They believe that practitioners should focus on their own enlightenment and liberation, and not be overly obsessed with saving others.
In this way, the originally unified Buddhist teachings became divided in this debate.
Two different sects were formed: "Mahayana" and "Hinayana".
The Mahayana school inherited the thought of the Bodhisattva of Chicken Crow, emphasizing the importance of compassion and saving all living beings.
The Hinayana school, on the other hand, focuses more on personal practice and liberation.
They believe that through self-realization, they can achieve liberation.
When the monk Wu Ding saw this, he couldn't help but laugh heartily: "If this is really possible, then you can be called the Mahayana Buddha, and I am naturally the Hinayana Buddha!"
However, the Chicken-Crowing Bodhisattva just shook his head slightly and responded:
"Although we have different opinions, we are all Samanas and our ultimate goal is the same. We just take different paths to the same destination."
When Wu Ding monk heard this, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, revealing a sly smile.
Then he suddenly stretched out a finger, pointed directly at the Chicken-Crowing Bodhisattva, and said:
"In that case, I want to see if I can split you Samanas in two!"
As the finger was pointed, Kongxing Temple disappeared without a trace in an instant, as if it had never existed.
The only two people left were Xie Que and Dipankara Buddha.
Dipamkara Buddha also put his hands together and said: "Buddha is Buddha, how can it be divided into two parts."
Xie Que just laughed: "Just wait and see!"
……
Gradually, the ancient Brahma religion was destroyed.
The first Lotus Sutra Assembly was therefore held, with the aim of selecting the opinions of hundreds of schools of thought and honoring the most supreme Buddhist teachings.
Many monks gathered here from all directions, having been persecuted for many years by the "Seven Grave Crimes".
At this moment, their hearts are full of expectations for Buddhism.
The monk named "Wuding" was sitting on a lotus platform at this moment, preaching to the 3,000 monks: "The Mahayana is an illusion."
"The Diamond Sutra says, 'There is no self,' and Bodhi is not a dead tree sitting alone; the Lotus Sutra states, 'Revealing the truth through the provisional means.'"
"If one abandons sentient beings in order to attain Buddhahood, how is he different from an Asura?"
"The six perfections are the boat for sentient beings, and the four means of attraction are the bridges of the dharma realm."
"You must know that if a mustard seed can contain Mount Sumeru, why can't a red lotus grow in the fire?"...
His remarks caused great disturbance among many monks who believed in Mahayana Buddhism at the Lotus Sutra Assembly.
Influenced by these remarks, many monks began to emphasize "saving all sentient beings" rather than "overcoming tribulations and becoming a Buddha."
Therefore, during the discussion and revision of the Lotus Sutra, the "Chapter on Nirvana due to Sins" was added.
In this chapter, sin is considered as a resource for spiritual practice and that sin is not completely evil.
Instead, it can be transformed through practice and become a ladder leading to Nirvana.
At this moment, a monk in the audience asked: "Sins are sins after all, how can they be the basis of practice?"
"Your so-called theory of cause and effect is nothing but a fallacy that deceives yourself and others."
The monk Wu Ding lowered his eyes and picked up a flower: "Sins are like fire in a house, they have no real form, but they can burn away those who have lost their way.
"Once upon a time, a monk entered the Avici Hell and saw that wherever the karmic fire was surging, there were mandala flowers. This is called 'red lotus growing in the fire'."
His voice suddenly rose: "You only see the cause and effect as an iron chain, but don't you see the words in the Nirvana Sutra that 'afflictions are Bodhi'?"
The monk said again: "Ridiculous! You are using sophistry! If sins can be used as merit, why do we need to observe the precepts and practice diligently?"
"You can see that Xinrao can become a Buddha?"
The monk Wu Ding just smiled and said, "Xinrao... isn't it possible to become a Buddha?"
At this moment, Monk Wu Ding clasped his hands together and sighed:
"Today, I have exhausted all my wit and will continue my debate under the Bodhi tree tomorrow."
The monk also revealed his true form as Dipamkara Buddha: "If that is the case, we will discuss this again another day!"
……
On the top of Vulture Peak, the Bodhi tree towers into the clouds with lush branches and leaves.
A young man with a handsome face and clear eyes sat under the Bodhi tree.
The moment a flash of inspiration came to Sakyamuni's mind, the sky suddenly split in two.
On the left is the monk Wu Ding walking barefoot on the red lotus of karma fire, and on the right is the ancient Buddha Dipankara holding a bronze lamp to illuminate the past and the future.
Their voices exploded in the void at the same time, causing the Bodhi leaves to turn into gold foil.
"It is said in the Nirvana of Sins..."
The monk Wu Ding opened his mouth and said, "When you have exhausted the eight kinds of suffering, you will attain the Eightfold Path."
He touched the young man's forehead with his fingertips, and countless reincarnations suddenly appeared in Shakya's eyes.
In his previous life, he was the son of an ancient Brahma priest.
The blood shed in the massacre in the past has now turned into merit for his attainment of Buddhahood.
In his eyes, every drop of blood seemed to turn into a blood-colored mandala flower.
The flame of Dipamkara Buddha's lamp exploded, burning all the mandala flower metals:
"No, sin is evil, how can it be transformed into merit?"
"You should accept and observe the 250 precepts before you can..."
Before he finished speaking, the swastika on Shakya's chest suddenly split in two.
Two giant pythons, one black and one white, broke out of the body. The black one held the "Chapter on Nirvana of Sins" in its mouth, while the white one was wrapped around the "Ekamma Āgama Sutra".
The Bodhi tree exploded into twin trees, with half dead and half alive branches.
The Buddha's shadow of Sakyamuni is actually divided into two. The left one is the Vajra King with angry eyes and holding a sword, and the right one is the Buddha with lowered eyebrows and holding a flower.
This change instantly split the timeline in front of Shakyamuni into two.
This also caused the entire history of Buddhism to completely deviate from its original trajectory.
This means that there will be two next present Buddhas!
Dipankara Buddha took a deep breath of cool air, reached out and grabbed a "卐" character, then snapped his fingers to break through the void and sent it out.
"Brother Duobao, please take it!"
“This is the present Buddha nature, and also the destiny of the Buddhist world!”
The "present wick" in the Zengyi lamp emits dazzling light, and as the light continues to converge, it eventually manifests the form of Tathagata Many Treasures.
The appearance of Tathagata is solemn, and his whole body exudes the spirit of "eternity in this world".
In this chaos, Xie Que also took the opportunity to intercept another current Buddha nature.
In the same way, Xie Que also absorbed it into the void and casually threw it on the "Golden Crow" in the void.
A phantom of a huge sun also appeared in the blood river behind Xie Que.
After all, Buddha nature now represents the "destiny" of the Buddhist world. If the two do not throw it into the void, the way of heaven will come down and take it back.
At this moment, Dipankara Buddha was also suddenly horrified. He raised his finger and pointed at Sakyamuni: "What about him?"
Xie Que just shrugged: "What are you afraid of? Its essence is destiny, but now there are two Sakyamunis..."
Dipankara Buddha took a deep breath, and was also afraid of his previous actions.
If they had disturbed the Heavenly Dao just now, I am afraid that both of them would have been injured by the Heavenly Dao of the Buddhist Realm. (End of this chapter)
