Yi Huawei nodded slightly, and gave Lin Pingzhi a subtle look, signaling him not to act rashly. Then he stood up calmly, straightened his clothes, and followed Xiang Danian into the inner room.

Passing through a slightly narrow corridor, there are several paintings and calligraphy hanging on the walls on both sides of the corridor. Under the dim light, a sense of ancient atmosphere can be faintly revealed.

Soon, the two came to a beautifully decorated flower hall. There were five armchairs placed side by side at the top of the flower hall, four of which were empty, and only the one on the east side was occupied by a burly red-faced Taoist priest.

Yi Huawei knew in his heart that these five thrones were set up for the five leaders of the Five Mountains sword sects. Now the leaders of the four sword sects of Songshan, Hengshan, Huashan and Hengshan have not arrived yet, so the red-faced Taoist must be the leader of the Taishan sect, Tianmen Taoist.

Nineteen martial arts masters were sitting on both sides of the flower hall. Yi Huawei glanced over and saw Master Dingyi of the Hengshan School, Yu Canghai of the Qingcheng School, and He Sanqi of the Yandang Mountain in southern Zhejiang were among them.

Sitting in the main seat at the bottom was a middle-aged man wearing a brown silk robe, short and fat, who looked like a rich man. He was the host of this event, Liu Zhengfeng.

Yu Canghai was originally talking to someone else, and when he saw Yi Huawei coming inadvertently, his eyes tightened instantly. He seemed to sense that there were strange eyes around him, and his face instantly turned ashen, like raw iron, staring at Yi Huawei, his eyes full of resentment.

Yi Huawei glanced at Yu Canghai, but he seemed to be unaware of it. He looked calm, bowed respectfully to his master Liu Zhengfeng, and said, "Uncle Liu, long time no see, I hope you are well."

"Okay! No need to be polite, nephew!"

Liu Zhengfeng nodded slightly, with a kind smile on his face. Yi Huawei turned around again, bowed to the Taoist priest Tianmen, and said loudly: "Huashan disciple Yue Huawei greets Uncle Master Tianmen."

The Taoist of Tianmen had a murderous look on his face, like a volcano about to erupt, as if he was filled with great anger that was about to explode at any moment. He slapped the armrest of the armchair with his left hand, and with a loud "snap", he shouted angrily:
"Where's Linghu Chong?"

His words were so loud, like a thunderbolt that suddenly exploded in the air, making everyone's eardrums buzz. Everyone in the hall heard his roar from afar, and they were all shocked.

Yue Lingshan was startled and subconsciously leaned towards Liang Fa, saying in surprise: "Fourth Senior Brother, they are looking for Senior Brother again." Liang Fa nodded slightly, looking solemn, but did not speak. After a while, he lowered his voice and said: "Everyone calm down! There are heroes from all walks of life gathered in the hall, don't let people underestimate our Huashan Sect."

Lin Pingzhi, who was standing by, heard their conversation and thought to himself, "It seems like Linghu Chong has caused quite a lot of trouble."

Yi Huawei looked calm and composed. He bowed to the Taoist priest Tianmen and said in a neither humble nor arrogant manner:

"My dear uncle, Senior Brother Linghu and his junior brothers and sisters parted ways in Hengyang. They agreed to meet in Hengshan City and come to Uncle Liu's residence to congratulate him. If he doesn't come today, I think he will come tomorrow."

Upon hearing this, Tianmen Taoist became even more furious and said angrily, "How dare he come? How dare he come? Linghu Chong is the head disciple of your Huashan Sect, and he is considered a person of a reputable and upright sect. But he actually went to hang out with that rapist, robber, and thief Tian Boguang, what on earth does he want to do?"

Yi Huawei looked calm and said slowly, "As far as I know, my senior brother Linghu Chong and Tian Boguang have never met. Senior brother is a carefree person and has a special liking for fine wine. He often drinks until the glass is empty and he doesn't stop until he is drunk. I think that day, he must have accidentally met Tian Boguang to drink without knowing it."

Upon hearing this, Taoist Tianmen could not help but snort coldly, his voice full of disdain and anger, and said, "Humph, a few drinks? How could such a coincidence happen? A great disciple of Huashan Sect actually drank at the same table with that notorious flower-stealing thief. If this matter were to spread, where would the reputation of the Five Mountains Sword Sect be? How would we be able to gain a foothold in the martial arts world in the future?"

Yi Huawei knew that if he couldn't explain it properly at this moment, the storm would probably escalate and cause more trouble. He frowned slightly, thought for a moment, and said earnestly:

"Master, calm down. My elder brother has always been carefree and unrestrained, but I know him very well. He has no intention of making friends with evil people. Maybe there is an unknown misunderstanding. As long as my elder brother arrives and explains the whole story, everything will be clear."

Liu Zhengfeng quickly spoke up to smooth things over, with a kind smile on his face, and said, "Brother Tianmen, what nephew Yue said makes sense. Master Yue of Huashan is upright in his actions, and I believe his disciples would not be so bad and would not do such a foolish thing. Maybe there is really a misunderstanding. When he comes, we can calmly ask him about it."

At this time, Yu Canghai, who had been sitting aside and watching coldly, saw everyone talking at the same time, and he had been holding back a rage in his heart. He suddenly interrupted in a sarcastic tone:
"Humph, the Huashan Sect has been acting more and more unpredictable in recent years. It's really like the top beam is crooked, and a dignified Huashan Sect's chief disciple is actually hanging out with a flower-stealing thief and doing such a dishonorable thing. It's simply a disgrace to our martial arts world!"

As he spoke, his eyes were as sharp as needles, looking straight at Yi Huawei with resentment.

Yi Huawei saw this, still with a faint smile on his face, and slowly bowed his hands and said: "Last time, my nephew accidentally hurt Master Yu, and I felt really bad. These days, I often tossed and turned because of this matter, and I couldn't sleep or eat. Today, I saw that Master Yu looked normal and his breathing was stable. I think his body must have recovered. My nephew is really happy!"

"you!!……"

When Yu Canghai heard this, his face turned pale and he trembled with anger. He already had a grudge against Yi Huawei, and now that this matter was mentioned to him in person, he was even more furious.

Originally, everyone in the hall was skeptical about the rumor that the Huashan disciple defeated Yu Canghai. After all, Yu Canghai, as the head of the Qingcheng Sect, was also quite famous in the martial arts world and had great martial arts skills. Now that Yi Huawei admitted it himself, and seeing Yu Canghai's angry reaction, everyone was suddenly in an uproar. "It turns out that the rumor is true. This Huashan disciple is so capable that he can even defeat Yu Canghai!"

"Yes, you can't judge a person by his appearance. I never thought this young man would have such strength."

"It seems that Huashan Sect has produced many powerful figures in recent years. They should not be underestimated!"

Everyone was whispering and talking among themselves. There was a mixture of surprise and admiration in the eyes when they looked at Yi Huawei, and some even showed suspicion.

Taoist Tianmen was also slightly startled. He looked at Yi Huawei and thought to himself: This boy from Huashan Sect is so capable? It seems that Huashan Sect has a profound foundation and should not be taken lightly.

Liu Zhengfeng was also a little surprised, but he quickly regained his composure and said with a smile: "Everyone, let's put this matter aside for now. There are constant disputes in the martial arts world, and misunderstandings happen from time to time. Let's discuss the important matters first."

However, everyone's attention could not be diverted from Yi Huawei and Yu Canghai for a while. Yu Canghai was angry and annoyed, but he couldn't get angry in front of everyone. If he argued with Yi Huawei again at this time, it would only make himself more embarrassed.

Yi Huawei knew that although his words temporarily diverted everyone's attention from Linghu Chong's affairs, he also completely offended Yu Canghai. However, in his opinion, Yu Canghai was treacherous and cunning, and would do anything to achieve his goals. He was not the same kind of person as him, so he offended him, and he couldn't beat him anyway.

It seems that Yi Huawei is protecting Linghu Chong, but in fact, Yi Huawei is protecting the reputation of Huashan Sect. Yi Huawei is indeed somewhat dissatisfied with Linghu Chong's behavior.

Linghu Chong has always been carefree and unrestrained, disdaining many rules, and loves to roam freely in the martial arts world, drinking and having fun. But now he is fraternizing with Tian Boguang, a notorious lecher and rapist.

In this world that is subtly different from the original time and space, yet similar in many aspects, the constraints of Cheng-Zhu Neo-Confucianism on women are still like a heavy mountain, pressing firmly on them, deeply rooted and difficult to shake.

Take Yue Lingshan, who grew up with Yi Huawei in Huashan Sect, for example. As she grew older and learned about the differences between men and women, the most intimate thing she did with Yi Huawei was just to grab his sleeve. This behavior may seem ordinary, but it deeply reflects the strict rules of etiquette for women's words and deeds.

In such a social environment, if an ordinary woman is unfortunately defiled, she will undoubtedly fall into an abyss of no return. This is not only a great shame for her life, but also a shame for the whole family. The elders in the family often cannot hold their heads up because of this, and are pointed at by neighbors and people in the underworld. And the women themselves are often in desperate situations and face extremely cruel choices. Some women can't bear the inner pain and external pressure, and finally commit suicide with hatred, and use death to defend their last dignity; and those who survive are often despised by others, struggling to survive in the contemptuous eyes of everyone, and tortured by this shame for their whole life.

Tian Boguang was a notorious thief who was hated by everyone in the underworld. He killed countless good women wherever he went. After experiencing his brutality, the fate of those originally pure and kind women was completely rewritten and they fell into endless pain.

Linghu Chong's character can be seen from this incident. Perhaps in his own opinion, making friends with Tian Boguang was a temporary measure. Under the circumstances at the time, he might have felt that by dealing with Tian Boguang, he could save Yi Lin. But from a series of subsequent events, this was not just a temporary measure, but his nature.

Linghu Chong is free and easy by nature, and he has an instinctive resistance to worldly rules and constraints. When he makes friends, he only cares about whether the other person is to his liking and whether he can talk to him freely about everything, and he doesn't care much about the other person's identity and reputation. This way of making friends, in his opinion, is a reflection of his straightforward nature, but in the eyes of others, it seems too casual and even a little reckless.

Linghu Chong doesn't care too much about what others think of him, and he won't deliberately change his behavior because of the public opinion in the martial arts world or the rules of his sect. He acts according to his own preferences and inner feelings. As long as the other person makes him feel interesting or resonates with him in some aspects, he will interact with him, even if the other person is a flower-stealing thief despised by everyone.

In his interactions with Tian Boguang, Linghu Chong was attracted by Tian Boguang's unruly nature, which was similar to his own. Although Tian Boguang's behavior was evil, his style of doing things may have touched Linghu Chong's deep yearning for freedom and unrestrainedness to some extent. Linghu Chong felt that in this world full of rules and constraints, Tian Boguang's existence was a different kind of stimulation, allowing him to experience a different lifestyle.

Moreover, Linghu Chong has a stubborn character. Once he has decided on something or someone, he will not be easily influenced by other people's opinions. When he decided to date Tian Boguang, he would stick to his choice even if everyone around him strongly opposed it. He would not easily give up his ideas because of external pressure. This stubbornness also exacerbated the conflict between him and his sect to a certain extent.

The complexity of his character can also be seen from his encounter with Yi Lin. Drinking with Yi Lin in Huiyan Tower seems to be a coincidence, but it also reflects his casualness. Yi Lin is a young nun from Hengshan Sect with a special identity. According to common sense, Linghu Chong should keep a certain distance from her to avoid causing unnecessary trouble. But Linghu Chong doesn't care about that. He feels that he has a good conversation with Yi Lin, so he drinks with her regardless of the rules of the martial arts world and the opinions of others.

This behavior, on the one hand, reflects his appreciation for Yi Lin's pure and kind character, and on the other hand, exposes his disregard for secular norms. He did not consider the impact that drinking with a young nun from Hengshan Sect, as a senior disciple of Huashan Sect, would have on the two sects, and he did not expect that this would trigger a series of disturbances.

Linghu Chong's character has won him some friends but also brought him many troubles in the complex environment of Jianghu. His free and easy and casual nature makes some people who are also casual willing to make friends with him and appreciate his frankness; but at the same time, it also makes those who pay attention to the reputation of the sect and the rules of the Jianghu dissatisfied with him, thinking that his behavior damages the image of Huashan Sect.

Linghu Chong himself does not seem to be deeply aware of these problems. He still goes his own way, living and acting in his own way. He feels that there is nothing wrong with his behavior. He is just pursuing a true self and does not want to be bound by the rules of the world and the secular perspective.

If Linghu Chong was not the eldest disciple of Huashan, perhaps his behavior could be seen as the willful behavior of an unknown person in the martial arts world, and others would at most laugh it off. But he happened to be the eldest disciple carefully cultivated by Yue Buqun, the head of Huashan Sect, and he carried Yue Buqun's expectations and the future rise and fall of Huashan Sect.
