Chapter 2081 The Current Status of the Alliance's Top Projects!
Many scientists are interested in Gunbuster, who traveled across time and space from the long span of twelve thousand years to arrive in this world, but only a handful of scientists are actually able to cross the threshold.
Meanwhile, Kabuto Juzo, who had been quietly researching the power of light while staying in the First Tokyo urban cluster, was also drawn to Gunbuster.
"Dr. Kabuto Juzo, what brings you here?"
Why ask a question when you already know the answer?
However, Kabuto Juzo did not fall for He Ming's act and directly stated his purpose.
"Colonel Ming, no, Marshal. I hope to participate in the reverse engineering project of Gambasta."
He Ming blinked and smiled.
"That's alright. It's just that Mazinger Z still needs you, doesn't it?"
"Kabuto Koji has grown up. He is capable of taking on this important responsibility."
Kabuto Juzo bluntly stated that his grandson had grown up and was capable of taking on the responsibilities of Mazinger Z.
Seeing this, He Ming could not refuse any longer, so he issued a letter of appointment to Dou Shizang.
"Dr. Kabuto. Based on our current speculation, the reason for the sealing of the solar system is very likely related to Gambasta. You can ask Professors Aeolia and Eifman for more details."
"Okay! I understand."
Kabuto Juzo accepted the letter of appointment, left the office in a hurry, and headed towards the hangar where Gunbuster was located without looking back.
After watching the doctor who developed the power of light and Super Alloy Z leave, He Ming glanced at the documents on his desk, then immediately got up and left the office.
There are still many things to do; how can I possibly sit idly in the office processing documents?
With this thought in mind, He Ming strolled casually along the road. Along the way, many Alliance soldiers stood at attention and saluted when they saw He Ming, their expressions serious, but their eyes were incredibly ardent.
After returning the greetings, He Ming noticed a commotion coming from not far away.
What are they doing over there?
He Ming glanced at the Alliance soldiers beside him and asked casually.
"Yes, Marshal. I don't know the details, but just now, Mr. and Mrs. Arno from the border colony satellite arrived at the testing ground with their technical team."
The Alliance soldiers answered as best they could.
He Ming did not reprimand the Alliance soldier for giving an irrelevant answer. Instead, he patted the soldier on the shoulder, thanked him, and walked toward the direction from which the commotion came, leaving the Alliance soldiers behind, who were excitedly exchanging glances.
"Team leader. This is the data we just obtained; it's still some distance from the theoretical stable value."
Monica Arno, Seabook's mother, is placing a freshly completed report in front of her husband, the head of the antimatter engine development project.
“I understand, Monica. This is the 10123rd failure.”
Leslie didn't immediately flip through the report. Instead, she leaned back in her chair, pinched the bridge of her nose, and pretended to be deep in thought.
Since the project was established, even with relevant technical drawings as a reference, the project team has not progressed as quickly as expected. Instead, they have encountered numerous difficulties and various unexpected events have occurred just before reaching the theoretical stable value.
To be honest, if Leslie and Monica hadn't been so mentally strong, they probably would have been crushed by those tens of thousands of failures long ago.
Watching those astronomical amounts of resources flow from their hands into the project, only to be reduced to sets of data frozen in failure, the other technical staff on the project team were on the verge of collapse.
If it weren't for Leslie and Monica constantly encouraging everyone, this project team, which was highly anticipated and considered crucial to the future of the Human Earth Alliance, would probably have collapsed.
What's troubling you?
Just as the Arno couple were preparing to summarize the failure, He Ming's voice suddenly came from the entrance of the test site.
Everyone was startled and stopped what they were doing, saluting in unison toward the door.
"Welcome, Marshal!" A hint of surprise flashed in Leslie and Monica's eyes, but they quickly regained their composure.
Although He Ming used the identity of Colonel Ming from the Punishment Force when he brought them into the antimatter engine project, Leslie and Monica knew that it was only temporary and that He Ming would inevitably reveal his true colors one day.
Therefore, they were not too surprised that Colonel He Mingcongming had become the Marshal of the Human Earth Alliance Army.
"Marshal. We have just completed our 10123rd experiment at this testing ground, but unfortunately, we have failed once again."
Leslie handed the report that was on the table to He Ming.
He Ming waved his hand slightly, indicating that there was no need to show him these professional reports.
"These reports are fine for you to read. I'm just a soldier and don't know much about this kind of specialized knowledge."
"Hmm, judging from what you've said, Team Leader Leslie, this project team has already experienced tens of thousands of failures?"
A hint of shame crossed Leslie's face, and he nodded.
"Yes. It's embarrassing to admit. The alliance has given us so many resources, yet we haven't been able to produce any usable results."
"Hehe! There's no need to feel ashamed about it. What you're doing now isn't going from 0 to 1, but from 0 to 10, or even 100."
He Ming smiled slightly and said loudly.
"Before you came into contact with the antimatter engine, what more efficient and powerful energy technology had humanity on Earth had besides nuclear fission and nuclear fusion?"
"Never. Even spatial leaps remain only in science fiction."
Leslie sighed and replied.
"Yes. Since humanity on Earth has never come into contact with any energy technology other than nuclear fission and nuclear fusion, nor has it ever achieved the technology of space jump, then why are you so frustrated by these tens of thousands of failures?"
"You should know that you are now undertaking a feat akin to a leapfrog, a great undertaking that will allow the Human Earth Alliance to jump directly from 0 to 10, or even 100 points."
At this point, He Ming shook his head, a hint of regret and heartache in his eyes, as if he was saddened that the project team had been defeated so easily by failure.
"It's just a matter of tens of thousands of failures. If tens of thousands of failures can enable the Human Earth Alliance to achieve a huge leap from 0 to 10, or even 100 points, and achieve such a great leap at such a cost, I'd probably be laughing in my sleep."
Upon hearing this, a low chuckle rippled through the crowd. Leslie glanced over, and the area immediately fell silent.
He Ming waved his hand, indicating that Leslie and the others did not need to be so formal.
"Don't be nervous! Don't be reserved! I understand that the tens of thousands of failures have consumed not only resources, nor just stacks of papers recording failure data, but also all of you who have persevered to this day, gritting your teeth and moving forward in the face of failure."
"However, no matter how abundant or precious the resources are, they cannot compare to your mental and physical health."
He Ming smiled gently, looked around, and announced the decision he had just made.
"Since the project has already experienced tens of thousands of failures, why not let these failures serve as a pause, and then, after you've all recovered and returned from your vacation, we can write a new chapter in this story? What do you say?"
Upon hearing this, the technicians could hardly believe their ears.
He Ming waved his hand and said loudly.
“This is an order, execute it immediately! Team Leader Leslie, Professor Monica, and you too. I suppose it’s been a while since you’ve seen Seabook and Liz, hasn’t it? If you continue like this, I’m afraid even I, the Marshal, will be resented by them.”
Seeing that He Ming was joking like this, Leslie and Monica couldn't refuse and could only happily agree.
"Then we shall respectfully comply, Marshal!"
"Yes! Relax and rest! We have plenty of time now!"
"Yes, Marshal!"
