Voyage of the Stars.
Chapter 1200 Where Are We
Chapter 1200 Where Are We
It is truly a message from a pioneer.
All the civilizations in the Great Voyage Organization were happy that they could read the pioneers' messages when they arrived in a strange galaxy, because it meant that they could still follow the pioneers' route.
Although six civilizations were destroyed during this voyage due to the existence of four-dimensional space, it was not the responsibility of the pioneers.
The pioneers also said that they and the War Immortal Civilization had tried to put the message into the star gate tunnel, but unfortunately they were unsuccessful.
And now these words are enough to prove that the pioneers are considering the latecomers.
And then again, the pioneers also had their own great voyages. The great voyage organization they formed with the War Immortal Civilization could not have been formed just to pave the way for future generations. Their main focus was still on their own great voyages, and paving the way was just a by-product.
"We are a human civilization, a civilization born in the Milky Way. We once received the creations you left behind. I believe you also came into being because of these creations. So may I ask, have the pioneers left here? Did the pioneers leave behind a star map of the route for the great voyage? In other words, when the pioneers left here, did they leave through the star gate?"
Now that they have encountered the intelligent system left by the pioneers again, humans certainly do not want to miss the opportunity and will ask questions if necessary.
The intelligent system left by the pioneer quickly replied: "Of course they have left. My creator and the War Immortal Civilization left not long after they came here. Well, about five thousand years ago!"
"My creator and the War Immortal Civilization explored this galaxy together, but did not find the existence of the star gate, so they finally chose to sail away directly. The direction of departure was left behind, and I will pass the relevant information to you now."
"Well, three billion years have passed in the universe. The star maps left by my creator and the War Immortal Civilization may not be accurate. You can check them yourself. My creator also left some other information, and I will also copy a copy for you."
After obtaining this information about the pioneers, humans shared it with other civilizations in the organization without saying a word.
The pioneers did leave behind a star map of their planned route through this intelligent system, but they also explained that this was only a planned route and might be adjusted according to actual conditions during the voyage.
The Great Voyage Organization can understand this. After all, the starry sea is vast and no one can guarantee a smooth journey. Therefore, the star maps left by the pioneers and the War Immortal Civilization only marked the direction they left and the galaxy of their next destination. As for the subsequent route, it can only be known when they reach the next destination.
In short, the general direction is to go to the Bootes Void. This is the most accurate information left by the pioneers and the War Immortal civilization.
This star map also pointed out where this place was to the Great Voyage Organization, saving a lot of observation time.
Of course, observation is still necessary. After all, these are data from three billion years ago.
As for the location of the Great Expedition Organization, it is located in the Canes Venatici galaxy cluster.
A galaxy cluster, as the name suggests, is just like the Local Group, which contains many galaxies such as the Milky Way, the Andromeda Galaxy, and the Triangulum Galaxy.
The same is true for the Canes Venatici Galaxy Group, which is mainly composed of the spiral galaxy M51, the flocculent spiral galaxy M63, the ring spiral galaxy M94, and the active galaxy M106. These galaxies, like the Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy, also have companion galaxies. They are labeled NGC 5194, NGC 5055, NGC 4736, and NGC 4258 in human star maps.
The Canes Venatici galaxy group is very far away from the Local Group, approximately between 1500 and 3000 million light-years away.
The galaxy where the Great Voyage Organization is located now is the largest galaxy in the Canes Venatici galaxy group, the flocculent spiral galaxy M63, which has flocculent spiral arms but no obvious symmetrical structure. It is about 2900 million light-years away from the Milky Way and about 2700 million light-years away from the Andromeda Galaxy. In other words, through the star gate of the seventh-level civilization, the Great Voyage Organization has crossed a distance of about million light-years in just a few years.
Back then, the distance from the Milky Way to the Andromeda Galaxy was only 254 million light-years, but it took the civilizations in the organization years to run, and they almost died on the spot. But now, the distance is more than ten times, but it only took a few years to get there.
The stargate technology of the seventh-level civilization is so powerful that it can easily cross tens of millions of light years. No wonder it is called a cosmic-level civilization.
In fact, humans have observed the M63 spiral galaxy since the Earth era. It was observed together with its companion galaxy NGC 5055. Because of its unique structural characteristics, it was once called the Sunflower Galaxy by humans.
However, the state of the Sunflower Galaxy observed in the era of human civilization on Earth is its state 29 million years ago.
Today, humans have seen its current state, and preliminary observations have revealed that the diameter of the Sunflower Galaxy is comparable to that of the Milky Way, at about 100,000 light-years.
However, its shape and the state of its surrounding satellite galaxies are very different from the Milky Way.
Its companion galaxy is not as leisurely and comfortable as the Big and Small Magellanic Clouds of the Milky Way. Instead, it has been pulled by the gravity of the Sunflower Galaxy, forming a star belt as long as 180,000 light-years. Following this star belt, you can reach its companion galaxy.
The reverse is also true.
It looks like a star road paved with stars between the Milky Way and the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds.
This is the phenomenon that has been observed so far. The Great Voyage Organization does not yet know whether this star road was formed naturally or was caused by civilization activities. This requires further observation.
In addition to its gravitational interactions with its companion galaxy, the Sunflower Galaxy also has varying degrees of gravitational pull on many nearby dwarf galaxy groups.
This type of gravitational interaction is a bit like the relationship between the Andromeda Galaxy and other dwarf galaxies in the Local Group.
The location of the Great Expedition Organization today is the central black hole region of the Sunflower Galaxy, which is densely populated with stars, mainly old stars. Therefore, supernova explosions here occur quite frequently.
According to the current observations of the Great Voyage Organization, there is a star about 3,000 light years away from the central black hole that will experience a supernova explosion in the next 50,000 to 100,000 years.
The frequent stellar activity in the central region also creates a relatively active central black hole, and many stellar materials are swallowed by the black hole. Therefore, this black hole has an accretion disk like a quasar. However, it is not young after all, and the gravitational structure of the Sunflower Galaxy has also tended to be stable, so its jet is not as violent as that of a quasar. In short, this phenomenon cannot be observed in the distant position of the Milky Way.
Compared with the central area which is mostly composed of old stars, the spiral arm area is dominated by young and middle-aged stars, most of which are young and short-lived blue giants. They and the ionized hydrogen regions where they are located present a blue visual effect.
When observed from the black hole's side, it seems as if the entire spiral arm is emitting blue light.
In other parts of the spiral arms there are a lot of dark dust and red star forming areas, that is, red dwarfs. The radiation emitted by the red stars shines on the dust, and the whole appears as a pink nebula.
The two tones of red and blue mixed together give people a feeling of the magnificent beauty of the nebula.
