Voyage of the Stars.

Chapter 1235 M87 Nebula

Chapter 1235 M87 Nebula
The two voyage organizations had already entered the star gate, and after several transfer stations, they successfully came out from the other side of the star gate. The method of exiting the star gate is the same as entering the star gate, and both require passing through a three-dimensional maze space.

A total of 45 level six civilizations from the two organizations formed a long line and passed through the star gate. Because of the bad experience the first time they passed through the star gate, everyone was very careful this time. Before the main fleet entered, each civilization sent out multiple batches of exploration spacecraft to explore the way.

After the exploration ship exited the other side of the star gate and confirmed that it was safe, the main fleet of the voyage organization dared to enter the star gate. The two voyage organizations would go through a star gate for exploration once, which would take longer but was safer.

This time, the star gate voyage did not encounter any disaster like the first time. It has to be said that the creations of the cosmic civilization are really strong. After so many years, it can still operate stably.

Since the preparations for crossing the star gate were relatively thorough and they had learned from the first lesson, everyone was very cautious and nothing went wrong. Of course, we also have to thank the pioneers and the war-immortal civilization for paving the way for us.

It can be said that if it were not for the information they left behind, even if the two major long-distance navigation organizations found the star gate, the time they would take to cross the star gate would be several times longer.

It is for this reason that the main fleets of the two major long-distance navigation organizations knew their location as soon as they came out of the star gate at the other end.

Because the exploration spacecraft had already gone out and observed the starry sky, after a long period of observation and comparison of the cosmic star map, the two long-distance navigation organizations came to the same conclusion: the Virgo Galaxy Cluster.

It is worth noting that the Virgo Cluster is not the Virgo Supercluster. The former is at the same level as the Local Group, Maffei Group, Canes Venatici Group, and Ursa Major Group, while the latter is a supercluster that includes the former and an entire area covering about 1.1 million light-years.

The latter is also called the Local Supercluster, which is part of the Laniakea Supercluster with a diameter of 5.2 million light-years.

The Virgo Cluster has about 2000 member galaxies, which is much larger than the Local Group. If the Local Group is compared to a city, then it is a small city in front of the Virgo Cluster because it has only 50 member galaxies.

It is even smaller than the hometown of the Falcon civilization. The galaxy cluster where the Falcon civilization is located also has 100 galaxies.

If we look at it from this perspective, then this wave of civilizations, including the Great Voyage Organization that originated from the Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy and the Falcon Voyage Organization that originated from the Maffei Galaxy Group, all belong to civilizations that came from small rural towns to big cities.

This is not a random division of cosmic regions, but a unified classification based on their gravitational pull. From the analysis of the large-scale gravitational structure of the universe, large-scale galaxy clusters such as the Local Group, the Maffei Group, the Canes Venatici Group, and the Ursa Major Group are all being pulled by a common gravitational source, and they are generally moving in the direction of the Virgo Cluster.

For example, the Milky Way is approaching the gravitational source of Virgo at a speed of 1200km/s.

Perhaps it is for this reason that some level six civilizations, such as the Stayu Civilization, the Gust Civilization, and the Daya Civilization, after learning that they had suddenly arrived in the Virgo Galaxy Cluster, could not help but jokingly tell other civilizations in a virtual meeting: We are country bumpkins coming to the city!

Of course, the presence of many galaxies does not mean that the civilization here is powerful, nor is there such a situation as "encountering a large number of powerful civilizations gathering as soon as you arrive in a big place", because the 2000 member galaxies of the Virgo Cluster are not gathered together.

They are just like the Triangulum Galaxy, the Milky Way, and the Andromeda Galaxy, each of them is suspended in the void. Obviously, it is difficult for the civilizations born in these two thousand galaxies to communicate with each other. If they want to meet, they have to start a long voyage, otherwise no one will know each other. The universe is so big and the galaxies are so vast, you can imagine it.

This star gate, built by an unknown cosmic civilization for strategic needs, directly brought two long-distance navigation organizations from the Triangulum Galaxy in the Canes Venatici Cluster to the Virgo Cluster.

This result is gratifying because it means that the voyage has moved a little further forward.

After the two civilizations of the long-distance travel organizations rushed out of the star gate and returned to the universe, they were all there to sigh at the power of the cosmic civilization and the convenience of the star gate. Especially the members of the Falcon Long-distance Travel Organization, they followed the Falcon civilization for so many years and traveled so far, but this was the first time they went through a star gate.

Throughout the entire journey, the scientists from their civilization were the most excited. If the Falcon civilization had not known the limits and some precautions for navigating through the star gate and had not constrained them, the scientists from that civilization might have conducted various experiments on the star gate channel while sailing.

The specific location of the star gate exit
Perhaps due to the strategic concealment needs of that unknown cosmic civilization, it was not seen in a planetary system in the Virgo Cluster, but on the edge of one of the galaxies, about 3 light-years away from its outermost star belt.

The star gate built in such a location is indeed quite hidden. Since it is far away from the galaxy, few civilizations will come here. Moreover, it is hidden in a space maze, which makes it even more difficult to be discovered.

So when the two large voyage organizations came out, they did not find any signs of activities of other civilizations nearby. It seems that the civilization here did not discover the existence of the star gate.

This location also means that the two navigation organizations must travel another 87 light years to reach the nearest galaxy. The two organizations naturally set this nearest galaxy as the target of this voyage. In the subsequent observations, human civilization discovered that this galaxy was actually M, which they had observed in history.

The M87 galaxy or M87 nebula can also be called Virgo A or NGC 4486 galaxy.

When the two great voyage organizations were heading towards it, the advance exploration ships of various civilizations had already brought them first-hand information about this galaxy.

As a result, human civilization has been able to update the observation data of the M87 nebula in the Earth era. After all, the data of the M87 nebula observed by humans in the Earth era was already what it looked like million years ago.

Before the event information light cone was updated to the current time point of human civilization, the M87 nebula in the human database had always been the same as it was 5400 million years ago, because its straight-line distance from the earth was that far.

This distance also illustrates one thing. Human beings have experienced so many things in the starry sky. It seems that they have run from one place to another, as if they were running very fast, but the straight-line distance is only 5400 million light years.

Just by comparing this astronomical distance with the warp speed of a level 7 civilization, we can get a glimpse of the hardships of the Great Voyage. The destination set by the Great Voyage Organization is the Boötes Void, which is million light-years away from the Earth. Now the Great Voyage Organization has not even completed one-seventh of the journey.
