Voyage of the Stars.

Chapter 1405 For Hope We Step into the Abyss
For this purpose, the three major voyage organizations prepared for a full 300,000 years.
During this period, in addition to the routine task of laying star paths, each civilization was doing one thing—conducting special scientific research and special experiments.
As for what specific project it is, it naturally refers to scientific research on the lifespan and maintenance costs of the technological equipment of this civilization.
There's a lot more to it than meets the eye.
For example, conducting lifespan assessments of one's own technological products, studying individual life energy consumption, conducting long-term dormancy studies, and evaluating equipment maintenance, and so on.
The performance metrics of everything point to lifespan.
All of this research can be summarized in one word: entropy!
Three major expeditionary organizations, 515 Level 6 civilizations, including some that have existed for hundreds of millions of years, which is much longer than 17.3 million years. If they can exist for such a long time, why should they be afraid of a mere 17.3 million years?
The reason is simple: entropy increases.
In the past, the existence of these civilizations was based on exchanging energy with the outside world. They lived in star systems with various energy sources, which were low-entropy entities. They maintained their own entropy by exchanging energy with these low-entropy entities.
However, once inside the Great Void, the connection is broken. The moment they set sail, it meant that each civilization no longer had a way to obtain low entropy. At that point, each civilization, or rather the three great expeditionary organizations as a whole, would be an isolated system.
This isolated system will gradually die due to the lack of low-entropy input.
What the three major expeditionary organizations need to do is use the power of technology to slow down this process. Therefore, the preparation of 300,000 years is not only about laying out star paths, but also about researching related technologies.
Every civilization is striving for the final leg of the great voyage.
Time in the universe passes by so easily.
Three hundred thousand years of vicissitudes have prepared various civilizations for their new journeys.
Of the 515 civilizations, each has transformed its fleet into a long-range operational structure, each has launched its own star system, and each has at least gained some confidence.
The people who had been sleeping for so long awoke. They all looked out of the portholes into the darkness, at the twinkling stars within it. They knew their civilization was about to set sail, so they awoke to see the starry sky they were about to bid farewell to one last time.
After that, they fell into a deep sleep once more.
Some of them will sleep for 300,000 years, then wake up to replace others on duty, by which time the fleet will surely be sailing in the vast darkness.
With the help of technology, they can see not only the sparse stars outside the porthole, but also countless spaceships.
After 300,000 years of group development, laying star paths, building massive fleets, and so on, the material reserves of this star system have plummeted. 515 level-six civilizations have been frantically excavating for 300,000 years, almost emptying the entire star system.
But it doesn't matter. Now all civilizations will leave, and this galaxy will return to its deserted state. The stars will continue to burn quietly until they go out.
Goodbye, brilliant starry sky! Yes, goodbye, but we hope we can meet the starry sky again!
Three major expeditionary organizations and a massive fleet composed of 515 Level VI civilizations set sail, and people were bidding farewell to the starry sky in their own ways.
An unknown civilization was the first to activate their warp drive, and then their hundreds of billions of ships disappeared one after another into the stars.
One civilization, two civilizations, three civilizations.
Following the commands of each civilization's leader, massive fleets raised their warp-wave sails and resolutely entered warp speed, heading towards the abyss of their only hope. "For hope, we march into the abyss!"
Some civilizations once wanted to split themselves in two, but they found that none of the civilizations in the Galactic Expeditionary Organization did so. After many years of careful investigation, they learned that a cosmic catastrophe was not far away.
This universe is riddled with holes, a fact known to all civilizations under the three major expeditionary organizations. Therefore, after learning this news, no civilization has considered splitting itself in two.
Entering the Great Void offers a sliver of hope, while remaining here is tantamount to a slow, inevitable death. Regardless of the spread of the fourth phase transition catastrophe in the universe, the mere presence of boundary breakers all around makes this place a death trap.
What have we all come all this way across the stars for? It's to reach the edge of the Great Void. We've all been prepared to go all in.
It's either success or demise, that's all.
You might live longer if you don't enter the Great Hollow, but the end result will definitely be extinction. Only by entering the Great Hollow is there a sliver of hope for survival, so why hesitate?
If I hear the truth in the morning, I can die in the evening!
One type exists in a daze as a Level 6 civilization until it is swallowed up by various cosmic disasters; the other type goes on to pursue more mysteries of the universe.
Every civilization that has survived to this day knows how to make the right choice. They have not fallen into depravity; even if they perish, they will perish on the path of pursuing the "Tao."
Trillions of ships resolutely set sail, their massive warp engines creating endless turbulence that blurred space and time, as well as the fleets that were traversing through space and time.
For all civilizations at or below level six, the Great Void is a dead end, but for that elusive hope, all level six civilizations have ventured into that dead end.
Watching fleet after fleet disappear before one's eyes evokes a feeling akin to moths drawn to a flame, and also a sense of tragic grandeur, like the desolate wind and the chilling Yi River.
As time went by, the fleets that once filled the starry sky gradually dwindled, and it was time for human civilization to set sail again.
The Daya civilization followed closely behind.
Meanwhile, in a distant galaxy, cryptic messages of communication emanated from an ancient habitat of boundary breakers.
"After 300,000 years, they have finally set sail!"
"Yes!"
"They will not succeed, just like we did in the distant past. No civilization can succeed. The path of civilization's advancement has been blocked. Cosmic-level civilizations do exist, but their existence has also blocked the path for those who come after them. No civilization will succeed!"
"Sigh, I don't know why, but when I learned of their desperate gamble and departure, I thought of our ancestors, of those ancient times when we too once had such passion."
"Passion? Ha! That's not passion, it's the wailing of despair!"
"The universe cannot hear our cries, nor can it hear theirs, but this vast universe will not block all paths. We are on the right path now, I firmly believe."
The three major expeditionary organizations, comprising 515 Level 6 civilizations, have departed, but the photons will still carry their information, traversing the starry sky, just as their legends still linger in the vast starfields covered by this stargate network.
Even without their presence, the stars in this region still burn, the planets still revolve around them, and the universe continues its silent course. The course of nature is constant; it does not exist for Yao, nor does it perish for Jie.
