Chapter 1549 Spatial Scaling Technology
Chapter 1549 Spatial Scaling Technology
All four civilizations in the Great Voyage Organization possess spatial folding technology, but this technology cannot fold the entire warship onto a single discontinuous spatial pixel in the space before them, because the warship is currently in its smallest possible state.
The space occupied by an object is determined by the number of fermions it contains.
So although scientists have provided directions, there are still major problems that have not been solved in these directions.
What can we do if the problem remains unresolved?
simple!
Invest a lot of time, manpower, and resources in scientific research.
As for research directions, different scientific teams from different civilizations have different views on this.
Some scientific teams continue to focus on spatial folding technology, believing that it can be further optimized to fold the space in which the creation is located, all the way down to a single pixel.
Frankly, this idea did not gain much acceptance from scientists after it was proposed, because they all felt it was impossible to keep folding indefinitely. They believed that the space folding technology of the four civilizations had already reached its peak, otherwise they would not have been able to build a Nebula-class warship that was only a few kilometers long.
Further miniaturization is indeed possible, but there is very little room for improvement. Instead of spending time researching this, it would be better to explore the Higgs mechanism. Mastering the Higgs mechanism might even eliminate some of the warship's mass, making it more agile and potentially increasing its speed.
It has to be said that the civilizations that have emerged from the Milky Way all have one problem: no matter what technology they develop, they all want to use it on their warships as soon as possible to form the combat power of a civilization.
This is indeed a good thing.
On the other hand, some scientific teams believe that we should continue to delve into the ultra-microscopic realm, master more related technologies, and then directly dive into the pixel space from the microscopic level.
Those who hold this view are mostly scientific teams in human civilization. After all, of the four civilizations, human civilization has the most advanced technology in the field of microscopic science.
Of course, human civilization has more than one scientific team. Other scientific teams have also taken a different approach and proposed a bold plan, namely the Space Proportional Compression Technology Research Plan.
They also invited other scientific teams from different civilizations to participate.
In particular, the Galactic Heart Civilization team, whose human scientists proposed the plan, extended sincere invitations to various scientific teams within the Galactic Heart Civilization, hoping they could collaborate with them to research spatial compression technology.
Spatial proportional compression technology and spatial folding technology are two different things. The latter involves folding space directly without changing the proportions of space or objects within it, resulting in the creation of different layers within the same space that can be connected through spatial portals.
The former involves proportionally reducing the size of space and the objects within it. However, it's not just about reducing size; if reduction is possible, enlargement can also be achieved, since it's simply the reverse operation. Therefore, the so-called proportional compression of space should perhaps be more accurately described as proportional scaling of space.
This technology requires that the object be compressed proportionally, but the mass will not change, and there will be no microscopic particle collisions due to compression.
It sounds a bit like Sun Wukong's Ruyi Jingu Bang (the magic staff), and that's actually the effect.
Human scientists believe that with the current level of human civilization's technology in the microscopic realm, coupled with the Galactic Center civilization's expertise in three-dimensional space, it is possible to achieve this technology.
However, when the research project was initiated, the research on spatial scaling technology diverged into two directions. One was the conventional approach of scaling objects and spaces proportionally, and the other was to compress space by flipping it to a higher dimension and hiding it in the higher-dimensional space, and then flipping it back when it was enlarged.
The second direction was mainly inspired by the creations of the Rebooters. Scientists wanted to learn from the Rebooters' inward-folding mechanism and forge a technological path. However, most scientists favored the first approach.
The reason is that they know less about the second approach and believe that with current technology, the first approach has a higher probability of success.
Perhaps because everyone wanted to explore the pixel space, after the human civilization's scientific team proposed and established a research project, not only did the Galactic Heart Civilization send its top scientific team to participate, but the Daya Civilization and the Awakener Civilization also joined in.
It can be described as a joint research project.
In fact, since they came together, the four civilizations have cooperated on joint scientific research, but this is the first time that a project can be developed into a separate technology tree.
And so, the four civilizations temporarily remained in this void, conducting various experiments on the pixel space to collect more data while carrying out joint scientific research.
Each civilization's scientific teams contribute to the overall research project in their respective areas of expertise.
Spatial scaling technology may seem like just a space technology, but in reality, space technology is only one aspect; it involves many fields.
For example, the four fundamental forces are obvious, and the reason is quite simple.
Imagine compressing a real object without altering its structure or physical properties. It's not as simple as just brute force; it requires a synchronous and proportional change in the interaction forces of the fundamental particles that make up the object.
So what forces act on a normal object? The answer is that all four fundamental forces are at play.
As we all know, objects we encounter in daily life are basically governed by electromagnetic forces. Therefore, if we want to compress an object, we must first modify the rules of electromagnetic forces so that elementary particles do not exhibit the repulsive force that occurs in normal spacetime when they get close to each other.
Gravity is very small and can generally be ignored, but it has to be considered when compressing an object to a pixel. Therefore, the rules governing the relationship between the distance of gravity and the magnitude of the force must be modified.
The strong and weak interactions also need to be explained; their rules must be changed to prevent them from exhibiting strong repulsion or attraction due to shrinkage.
Then there are the rules of the quantum realm.
Because the spatial scaling technology that the four civilizations now want is not simply to shrink by a little bit, but to shrink to the pixel size of pixel space, it must involve quantum phenomena in the microscopic realm.
Scientists must figure out whether an object and the space it occupies will continue to exhibit its original macroscopic properties when scaled down to the pixel size of pixel space.
Research in this area is one of the strengths of human civilization. After all, the Lyra was not built for nothing, and human civilization originally had the technology to "lock" an entire warship in the microscopic quantum world, and was able to find it.
It can be said that this technology has given humanity great confidence, and is the reason why most scientists believe that this path can be successfully followed.
