Chapter 1593 Where Did I Come From?
"Do you have any other evidence?" the Star Defender asked.
"Do you need any more evidence?" the four-dimensional life form replied.
Yes, do I need any more evidence?
The defenders of the stars ask themselves these questions.
Perhaps the best evidence is that the Dayan civilization once visited this place.
Although the Star Guardian's words were somewhat harsh, he wasn't stupid. After the four-dimensional life form uttered such a statement, he wondered: Could a god-level civilization truly create real life, or rather, could the Great Evolution Civilization truly create such a self-aware entity?
If my consciousness was not created by the Dayan civilization, then where did I come from?
Just as the four-dimensional life form said, I was originally a member of the children of the universe. After being imprisoned in this pixel space for who knows how many years, I was rescued by the Dayan civilization when I was on the verge of death, and then this body was created for me.
But if that's the case, why don't I have any memory of it?
The Star Guardians know that memories can be erased, but did the Great Evolution Civilization really need to do this? Or is it my own problem that I lost the memories of that period of time? Perhaps, as the four-dimensional life form said, I was already half dead at that time.
The idea that half of them died certainly doesn't make sense in Earth's time, but it works for a single civilization. The Star Guardians believe that they might have actually died half of themselves and been resurrected by the Dayuan Civilization through some means.
To be honest, rather than accepting that they were entirely created by others, the Star Guardians would rather accept that they were once a life form naturally conceived by the universe, only to be encountered by the Dayan Civilization when they were about to die.
However, no one told the Star Guardians the answer to all these speculations, except for the Dayan Civilization, which was far away on the edge of the universe.
"We must find the Dayan Civilization!" the Star Guardian muttered to himself.
He had never been so eager to find the Dayan civilization and find out what was going on with them.
Although human civilization will obtain some answers after it has fully explored this pixelated space, the most accurate answers will only be known to the Dayan civilization.
At the same time, reflecting on these matters also led the Star Guardians to deeply consider their origins, eventually leading them to the ultimate question: "Where did I come from?"
"This desolate and empty universe, and eternal life, or rather, eternal death—tell me, if everything is as 'emptiness' says, am I eternal, or have I already eternally died? If one day, the Great Yan civilization tells me the truth, would that be a kind of resurrection for me? Even if the truth isn't the truth."
The Star Guardian remained silent for a long time, then said something he had never said before in the public channel. In the past, the Star Guardian would never have uttered such philosophical words.
“You know there’s no answer to this kind of question,” the four-dimensional life form replied.
Starry Sky Defender: "Maybe!"
Seeing his deep contemplation, the four-dimensional being suggested, "If you want to know where you came from, why don't you seek the answer yourself instead of going to the Great Evolution Civilization? You yourself said that even the truth they tell us is uncertain, which is probably why they didn't take you with them to explore the universe." The four-dimensional being pondered for a moment, "I must admit, there are wise beings among the insects. Perhaps the Great Evolution Civilization anticipated that you would seek them out, and thus left you in the universe to find the answers yourself. Think about it, if you hadn't followed human civilization, if you hadn't come here, would you have pondered these questions? No, you wouldn't. You would have simply followed human civilization in a daze until, perhaps one day, the Great Evolution Civilization would tell you the so-called 'truth'."
"So wake up, Star Guardian. The meaning of your name doesn't seem to come from the Dayan Civilization. In my opinion, it is your original name. Perhaps it is one of the clues to finding yourself."
The Star Guardian, who had been silent like a philosopher, didn't stay silent for long. He quickly returned to his original state: "I must say, you old codger, you're not entirely useless. At least you've been quite diligent in causing me trouble. Very well, you've proven your worth. Hmm. Welcome to the Great Star Voyage Organization!"
Hey, do you need to tell me that?
The four-dimensional life form mentally grumbled, then "closed its eyes" and entered a self-repairing state. It didn't want to talk to the Star Guardian for the time being; if it said another word, the guy would probably break down again and revert to his mindless state.
As expected, after he stopped talking, the Star Guardian also stopped joking and fell silent again, obviously pondering the question of where he came from.
Unfortunately, this kind of question is called the ultimate question. The deeper you think about it, the fewer answers you find, while those who don't think much about it all have their own answers.
It must be said that some people say philosophy is pretentious, and in their view, that's not entirely wrong.
For example, from the perspective of a four-dimensional life form, the guardians of the stars must be asking themselves: Where did I come from? Who am I? Where am I going?
After all, if one doesn't even ask oneself the three ultimate questions of the soul, then one's thinking isn't truly philosophical.
For philosophers of four-dimensional life forms, or humans, the Galactic Center, or the Daya civilization, these three questions remain unanswered to this day.
But for the Star Guardian, the answer came after a moment's thought. He came from the universe; he was the Star Guardian, and he wanted to find himself and the Great Evolution Civilization.
This is clearly a preliminary answer, since the answer to that kind of question is not fixed.
Every race has its own answer, and the answer itself is determined by reflecting on its own racial origins, just like racial morals, which vary greatly.
As far as humanity is concerned, these three philosophical questions are not questions at all right now, because the current state of human society is one of scientific supremacy. Many scientists believe that as long as human society remains stable, as long as humanity continues to climb the peaks of science, and as long as science and technology continue to advance, there is no need to worry about these questions, or rather, humanity at this stage is not qualified to answer them.
Human cognition changes with the progress of science because scientific progress allows human consciousness to access things that were previously impossible to access. As cognition continues to rise, the answers will naturally change as well.
Humans in the Earth era gave this answer, while humans in the interstellar era gave a different answer. And what about after becoming a god-like civilization? The answer will certainly be different too.
If a human being on Earth were to ask these three questions to an average human being, the answer might be something like this: I came from nothingness, the rules of the universe created me, I am who I am, I am not going anywhere, because my life is eternal.
Although humans cannot live forever, for people in the Earth era, their lives are no different from eternity.
The answer to the same question is different for immortal species and ephemeral cicadas, just as god-level civilizations have set their sights on saving the universe, while cosmic-level civilizations are still searching for a way to become god-level civilizations.
