Chapter 1612 The Cataclysmic Zone Lying Across the Front
Scientists were not discouraged, but the research seemed to have encountered an insurmountable chasm, and human research in this area stagnated for a long time to come.

Of course, despite this, it cannot be said that the research is useless.

Because through this period of research, humanity has at least mastered another means of attack, namely extreme dimensional reduction attack, which can reduce a spatial area to a near zero-dimensional level.

If the paper-based civilization hadn't progressed, humanity would have surpassed them in every dimension by now.

Unfortunately, because this technology was developed based on fundamental strings, only human civilization among the four civilizations possesses the ability to launch attacks at the ultimate dimensional reduction level.

The Daya civilization has essentially stagnated for many years.

The Galactic Heart civilization didn't find it anywhere either. They had mastered the art of three-dimensional travel, but they couldn't achieve anything in dimensional reduction. Even though they participated in human-led scientific research projects and obtained a lot of collaborative research data, they still couldn't make any progress.

The Awakeners civilization has made some progress, but not in the dimensional realm like humans; rather, it has progressed in their own dream-making technology.

Firstly, they have made new breakthroughs in mental strength. Now, even if the Daya civilization were to use a soul-annihilation attack on each of them, they would be fine.

According to the thinking life form, the individual spiritual and soul strength of the awakener civilization has reached the level of the child of the universe.

The Awakener civilization seems to be getting more and more fantastical, but a little fantasy is fine.

Because Yue Yuan also benefited from this process, after the Awakener civilization used the Dream Machine to enhance their individuals, they pulled Yue Yuan over to enhance him as well.

This is truly thanks to the Awakener Huan. If Yue Yuan were to transform into a quantum life form now, he could barely be considered a super life form.

As for the Star Defender, he's still just coasting along. Over the years, he's spent his free time bickering with four-dimensional life forms, which seems to bring him quite a bit of fun.

It's at least better than when we hadn't encountered four-dimensional life forms and were sleeping all day long.

Under such circumstances, the Great Voyage Organization crossed the void. Unexpectedly, just when everyone wanted to continue their leisurely journey to the distant universe, they encountered a vast cosmic disaster zone.

It was a vast two-dimensional plane. After encountering it, humanity's dream spacecraft, Lyra, jumped into it to take a look and found that its breadth was beyond imagination. To put it dramatically, it could be described as spanning billions of light-years.

Of course, through human observation, a definitive answer was quickly obtained.

The two-dimensional region is 13 billion light-years long, but not so wide, only about 8 billion light-years wide.

When this disaster zone was first discovered, humans initially thought it was a flat circle with a diameter of 13 billion light-years. After all, if it was formed by a dimensional reduction attack, its spread would have been even in all directions, and over time it would have become a circle.

However, the observable results show otherwise.

Scientists from several civilizations have reached the same conclusion that this region was formed by the merging of multiple points of dimensional reduction attacks.

It is so vast that to bypass it would require traveling seven or eight billion light-years. It is like a low-lying swamp lying across the path of the Great Voyage Organization.

If this were on the previous journey of a Level 6 civilization on a long voyage, it would have been a dead end.

In fact, it's more than that. If this were before the exploration of pixel space was complete, the Great Voyage Organization wouldn't have been able to do anything about it either; only the Dream Lyra and the Star Guardians could have crossed it. However, the Great Voyage Organization is now a completely different entity.

Having obtained various alien physical rules and parameters of pixel space, and with the help of four-dimensional life forms, several civilizations have been able to create shields to protect their spatial characteristics.

The shield's design is somewhat similar to the warships of the paper civilization, except that instead of compressing the warships into two dimensions like the paper civilization, it protects the warships using three-dimensional rules, allowing the entire warship to maintain its three-dimensionality even in two-dimensional space.

Such a fleet moving in two dimensions would look like a car speeding on a road, with one dimension of the warship attached to the two-dimensional plane.

When warships enter the two-dimensional area, from God's perspective, they look quite like a group of insects burrowing in the sand, raising bumps one after another.

These bulges do not exist from a two-dimensional perspective because there is no concept of a third dimension in a two-dimensional perspective.

The Great Voyage Organization chose to traverse this region, much like crossing a river, by jumping directly into the two-dimensional area and crossing it.

The reason for this choice is that the detour is much longer, because the Great Voyage Organization is currently located in the middle of this two-dimensional region.

Faced with this situation, the several civilizations gathered together to discuss the matter, assessed their own technological capabilities, and decided to "build ships on the spot" to cross the river.

The four-dimensional life form and the star defenders didn't have any objections.

The Star Guardian goes without saying; it is not afraid of dimensional reduction at all. As for the four-dimensional life form, although it is called a four-dimensional life form, it can actually curl up its structure in a microscopic higher dimension. The reason it was previously trapped in a three-dimensional space is because that three-dimensional space is absolutely three-dimensional and has no microscopic higher dimensions. Therefore, it has no problem traversing the two-dimensional space in this vast universe.

One reason is that everyone has the ability to traverse a two-dimensional area, and another reason is that everyone wants to see what's hidden inside.

Previously, due to insufficient technology, people couldn't get in; now that they can, of course they want to take a look.

I want to see what the stars, planets, black holes, and other celestial bodies inside the two-dimensional area look like, and whether it's like a painting, a world within a painting.

Or perhaps, over the long course of time, it has developed a unique form that belongs to the rules of the two-dimensional world.

If it is the latter, is it possible that two-dimensional life exists in this two-dimensional world? If two-dimensional life does exist, how did they come to be, what is their way of thinking, how do they view this universe, and so on.

There are so many things to explore inside.

Especially considering the possibility of newly emerging two-dimensional life forms within it, given the vastness of this area, it has been formed for a very long time.

Putting everything else aside, if life truly exists, the exploration of that life alone would be enough to support a whole technological tree.

Moreover, it contains the underlying logic of the universe's birth of life. Understanding it might just lead to understanding the true meaning of life.

Based on one possibility or another, everyone chose to go straight through and explore the wonders of that two-dimensional world.
