Chapter 928 Dark Style, Succubus Series?

Chapter 928 Dark Style, Succubus Series?

In mid-March, Sun Yi and Liu Yifei ended their honeymoon and flew to the United States to film "Man of Steel".

As the film officially began production, many American comic book fans came forward to criticize it, sticking to the same old arguments: Sun Yi's status as an Eastern director meant he didn't understand Superman, didn't understand America, and so on.

It's just the same old thing over and over again.

Every day, people still tirelessly stand in front of Warner Bros. holding up protest signs.

Actually, it's nothing special. It's America, after all. People have freedom of protest, and they can also put on a big reality show like "zero-dollar shopping."

However, some people's protests went directly into personal attacks, and the words were quite harsh. Sun Yi didn't think much of it, but Liu Yifei couldn't stand it and insisted on finding a lawyer to sue them. She didn't ask for compensation, but she demanded an apology.

Sun Yi felt that this was making a mountain out of a molehill; in China, it wouldn't even be considered a big deal.

Everyone gets criticized by fans. As long as it's not too outrageous and doesn't involve family members, it's usually just laughed off.

But as it turns out, Sun Yi was wrong this time.

Liu Yifei actually found a Hollywood law firm that specializes in handling relationships between celebrities and fans. After spending a lot of money, these people indeed disappeared. Even if there were any left, they were indeed loyal fans of the comics, and their protests were relatively mild, and they only raised personal opinions.

The visual experience is much better now!

Sun Yi had to give his wife a thumbs up.

Of course, only a minority of people came to protest; most fans were still looking forward to the movie.

After all, Sun Yi's previous achievements speak for themselves; there's no denying them.

This was just a minor incident, and it can be considered a period of adjustment for Sun Yi to fully get into work mode.

After dealing with this matter, I was able to fully immerse myself in filming.

To save time, Sun Yi divided the entire production team into two parts.

A team was assigned to an assistant director recommended by Warner Bros., who was quite well-known in Hollywood. He was responsible for Superman's childhood, including the early storylines about his adoptive parents, which was part of Superman's backstory.

This is very important because this "Superman" film is the opening chapter of Warner Bros.' reboot of the entire superhero series, just like the first film in Nolan's Batman trilogy focused on how Wayne became Batman.

Sun Yi's script follows the same path, depicting Superman's childhood, where he is ostracized and bullied by his classmates because of his difference. It shows his confusion of "knowing that he is different from everyone else, but not knowing how to fit in", and how he gradually matures and finally understands that "power is not the prerequisite for responsibility, but choice is".

This growth from confusion to awakening gives the character a more complex human dimension, making "Superman" no longer a symbolic "savior," but an "ordinary person" with fear and hesitation.

Of course, Sun Yi would definitely have to cut or modify the obviously anti-human plot points in the original work.

For example, in one scene, the Superman family encountered a storm. The whole family had already run to safety, but because they left the dog in the car, the adoptive father ran back to rescue it and got caught in the storm. Superman could have saved them, but the adoptive father refused, saying he couldn't reveal his special abilities. He stopped Superman with just a look and was willing to die.

Superman, on the other hand, just watched helplessly as his adoptive father and dog were swept away by the storm.

To be honest, Sun Yi found this plot point utterly inhuman and downright stupid.

Even if you want to teach Superman the lesson that he shouldn't reveal his abilities carelessly, you can't do it at this time, right? Human lives are at stake, and so is a dog's life.

Judging from the result, it's true. He went to save a dog, but in the end, the dog died and he got hurt too. You can call him a saint if you want, but the key point is whether he could have saved it or not. It's disgusting.

Therefore, Sun Yi directly deleted this part of the plot, restoring it to the original comic book, where the adoptive father dies in a car accident. He also added a scene of Superman's grief and remorse upon learning the news, highlighting the fragility of life and smoothly leading to Superman's later decisive action to save the Earth. Having personally experienced the loss of loved ones, he was motivated to protect life. Essentially, this was the only part of the entire script that included Superman's backstory, which Sun Yi delegated to the assistant director.

There's also a part about the destruction of Krypton, which Sun Yi personally filmed with two teams.

It has to be said that when his wife put on that dark, classic-style Kryptonian armor with its maximum dark buff, Sun Yi's mind went blank.

It must be said that Hollywood's professional costume and prop designers are truly exceptional in terms of aesthetics. The armor they design is perfect in terms of appearance, texture, and how well it fits the actors.

His own wife could even wear this armor and perform many difficult moves that Sun Yi had never dared to imagine before.

Don't get the wrong idea, it's a legitimate, high-difficulty move.

In the digital effects studio, Liu Yifei, with the help of the martial arts instructor, had just completed a set of 180-degree side kicks in mid-air. The wire was slowly lowered, and Sun Yi stood to the side, clapping with an appreciative expression.

My own wife looks beautiful no matter how she's dressed up. This is the armor, and she hasn't even put on makeup yet. If I add a dark makeup look, with purple eyeshadow and lip gloss, and a small whip, oh my... succubus series, isn't this it?

Liu Yifei maintained her balance, and as soon as her feet touched the ground, she wiped the sweat from her forehead and asked Sun Yi, "How was this move, Director?"

I wasn't paying attention and almost called my husband. It would be bad for the workplace.

Sun Yi raised his clapping hand, as if to say, "Is there even a question? Can't you see I'm clapping?"

Liu Yifei pursed her lips and smiled contentedly.

It's been a week since filming officially started. During this time, she hasn't filmed a single scene. She's been doing action training and recovering her physical condition. After all, she had a wedding and the Lunar New Year, which involved a lot of eating and playing, so she definitely relaxed a lot.

Today, Sun Yi is here from the digital domain to communicate about special effects scenes, so it's a good opportunity to take a look at her restoration results.

"Filming is going smoothly on the set. Your scenes will start in about a week."

"Don't worry, there's no problem. You can ask Coach Zheng if you don't believe me."

Sun Yi nodded with a smile. Even if he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, given his wife's dedication, it wouldn't be a big deal.

Of course, for professional matters, it's best to consult with professionals.

"Old Zhou, there's still a week left. Will Sisi's training be finished by then?"

"Director, don't worry. Miss Liu has such a good foundation and is so willing to put in the effort, there won't be any problems at all." Old Zhou praised Liu Yifei repeatedly in his broken Cantonese-accented Mandarin. "It's only now that it's all special effects. If it were ten years ago, Miss Liu would definitely be a top-notch action star!"

Upon hearing this, Liu Yifei couldn't help but purse her lips and glance at Sun Yi with her eyes, which made him chuckle to himself.

He usually seems perfectly normal, with the depth he should have, but as soon as Sun Yi arrives, he immediately transforms into the carefree and simple-minded Liu Hanbao.

Sun Yi didn't know what to say to her.

Old Zheng was specially invited from Jackie Chan's stunt team. He was already quite well-known in Hollywood, having worked on films such as "Twilight" and "The Scorpion King," where he was the action choreographer.

It can be said that they had a clear understanding of the filming situation in Hollywood, which largely made up for the shortcomings in Sun Yi's direction of the action scenes.
