Chapter 780 Relapse of old injuries

Chapter 780 Relapse of old injuries
Shan Jun casually recounted the city's darkest secrets, his relaxed tone as if he were chatting about everyday life. The Yin Beast in front of him dared not listen, wishing it could bury its head in the ground.

“The Tzu Chi Foundation is like a fine piece of porcelain. Its purpose is to provide solace to the timid and cowardly, filling them with hope before shattering them and dragging them into unfathomable darkness. But now the Tzu Chi Foundation seems to have gone astray. They seem to truly consider themselves saviors, even creating ‘abnormal’ ‘gods’.” Shan Jun brought the weeping flesh in his hand to his mouth, sucked hard, and strands of blood seeped into his body. His blood surged, like a dragon and a tiger.

"Now it's time to correct their mistakes."

The lid of the box was pressed down, and Shan Jun walked past Yin Shou: "Assemble, enter the second district."

The roar of engines filled the air, and the smell of blood and diesel fuel mingled as trucks laden with spoils drove along the roads of the second block.

Muddy tires crushed the scattered roses, shops closed their doors and windows, and shop assistants were on high alert.

Exhaling a puff of smoke, the Tiger Beast's subordinate, sitting on the truck, gripped his gun and brazenly surveyed the street.

"Second Street is the richest neighborhood. I don't understand those high art things, but the women and men here are really good-looking, and they all dress up in a way that makes you want to be impulsive."

“We’re saving up for renovations to gain more power. I’ve heard that people in the Second District spend astronomical sums and endure unimaginable pain just to become more beautiful. Don’t they know that beauty is a danger?”

"I really want to rob this place, Third Brother, stop me!"

"Shut up! You'll lose your head!"

The Tiger Beast's men entered the city first without encountering any danger or attack. A few minutes later, the Mountain King's convoy entered.

Although both were gang members, their styles were completely different. Shan Jun's convoy was completely silent, and everyone seemed to be made of ice, enveloped in murderous aura and exuding a chill.

The cleaning company and the other gangs in the second district had no intention of stopping them. It was a disgrace to have their hideout crossed, but if it was a bandit passing through, that was perfectly acceptable.

"Stop." Shan Jun spoke calmly from inside the car, and the driver immediately relayed his order throughout the convoy.

Yin Shou trotted to the car, bent down to make sure his face was lower than Shan Jun's shoulder, before daring to ask, "We're almost at the chapel. It's the largest activity venue for the Tzu Chi Foundation, but the believers who used to gather there were dispersed a few days ago."

“We’re not going to the chapel.” Shan Jun’s hand trembled as he extended his hand out the car window, the blood-red lines on his palm shaking as if pierced by needles. “What’s on the other side of the road?”

“An abandoned subway entrance, there was a big fire yesterday, nearby businesses have evacuated, there’s not much people there now…” Yin Shou was halfway through his sentence when his phone suddenly vibrated. He looked down at it and said, “Shan Jun is indeed a prophet. My men captured a few priests. They said that the Tzu Chi leaders brought their ‘god’ into the subway station, probably trying to escape to other neighborhoods through the abandoned subway.”

"Escape?" Shan Jun looked out the car window at the sky. "If they wanted to escape, they wouldn't have set fire to the shops to disperse them. Tzu Chi wants to choose a battlefield, a battlefield to fight me."

"Them?" Yin Beast chuckled. "A bunch of quack doctors and starving paupers, they think they can mess with us?"

The chapel, which had been under construction for decades and was the largest building of the Tzu Chi Foundation, was demolished amidst the noise. The rubble buried the hard work of countless people. Bibles were torn to shreds, and the white pages were scattered everywhere, as if a heavy snow had fallen in the second block.

The priests who refused to leave were all slaughtered, their heads and their faith hung on the high platform. The merchants and citizens of the Second District witnessed everything, but no one dared to speak, only watching silently, feeling a sense of shared sorrow. The Mountain King was too domineering, like a savage beast, completely out of place with the civilization of the Second District, yet they had neither the right nor the power to despise him.

The convoy turned around, and Yin Shou led his men to surround the abandoned subway station, clearing out an area within a hundred meters.

The tires recklessly trampled on the dignity of the Second Block, and Shan Jun's men gathered at the subway station entrance.

"Why don't we just blow this place up and bury them alive inside?" Yin Shou suggested in a low voice. His intuition, honed by years of battles and life-or-death struggles, told him that the subway station was very dangerous.

“The underground lines are extensive; they won’t stay put directly below us.” Shan Jun strode forward, his fully armed men advancing step by step, like a dragon returning to its nest, disappearing into the dark subway entrance.

The signal lights came on, and the logistics personnel, having installed the support frame, led the way with their detection tools.

"Safe, no suspicious signals detected."

"Mountain Lord, the underground environment is complex. Should we build bunkers first and expand outwards step by step, just like when we wiped out the Night Watchmen, taking a steady and methodical approach?" After entering the underground, the Yin Beast's unease grew stronger.

“The night watchmen’s bunker is only built under the fourth block. This subway line runs all over the city and even connects to the first block. The area difference is too great.” The blood lines on Shan Jun’s palm twisted continuously. “The Tzu Chi ‘god’ is attracting me. You can’t see it, but its traces are all over the tunnel. I can already smell its sweet scent. It’s a fragrance that is completely different from other ‘gods’. I have to eat it bit by bit and chew it slowly.”

Seeing the Mountain Lord's infatuated expression, the Tiger Beast wisely refrained from speaking. He had already realized that the Mountain Lord was acting differently than usual; this time, the opponent was not from any other faction, but from another "god."

“I’ll clear the way, you all keep a distance of ten meters from me.”

With the stride of a dragon and the gait of a tiger, Shan Jun pushed aside the safety monitoring personnel, stepped onto the abandoned railway tracks, and walked into the darkness.

After a few minutes, the mountain tiger suddenly looked down at the ground.

The sand bounced upwards, and the flat ground bulged up like dough. All the detection devices sounded alarms, and the Yin Beast shouted anxiously. Then, several terrifying explosions came from underground!

Scorching flames erupted, shockwaves shattered walls, massive boulders crashed down, steel bars twisted and bent, rails were overturned, and many people were turned into mincemeat before they could even scream.

"Tiger!"

The rumbling sound continued, a large area collapsed, and the smoke and dust did not completely dissipate for a full half hour.

"Where did the Tzu Chi Foundation get so much explosives? The underground black market was robbed before, could they have been the ones who did it?" Yin Beast spat out a mouthful of blood mixed with dirt, moved the stones off his body, and looked into the distance.

The wounds on Shan Jun's back and ribs began to bleed again, and the old wounds left by the night watchman constantly stung him, but he did not waver at all. He walked in the firelight and continued to delve deeper into the darkness.
