Solving the case: Combining the police dog's olfactory genes at the beginning
Chapter 1442: The director was cut in half at the waist after being twisted three times in the head!
The cervical vertebrae made a few crisp cracking sounds, then the sound changed from crisp to dull—not the sound of bones breaking, but the tearing sound of skin, flesh and fascia being stretched to their limit when the neck was forcibly twisted by external force.
Kojiro Saki's head spun around three times.
His neck spun like a rope twisted to its limit under the impact of Luo Fei's punch. His cervical vertebrae were twisted one by one, his tendons were stretched to their limit and then began to tear under the external force, his skin was twisted and wrinkled, and his Adam's apple was twisted to the position that should have been on the back of his neck.
After three rotations, his head stopped turning, not because it stopped, but because his neck had been twisted to an impossible angle, as if someone had screwed his head in like a screw.
His eyes popped out of their sockets as he turned.
It didn't fall out, but rather because the muscles around the eye socket were torn apart by external force, causing the eyeball to bulge out halfway due to the loss of muscle stabilization. Blood vessels were squeezed out from behind the eye socket, the eyeball dangled outside the eyelid, and the light in the pupil had been completely extinguished.
Saki Kojiro's body went completely limp after Luo Fei's fist delivered the final blow.
His hands loosened their grip on the knife hilt, and the knife, embedded in the crack of the stone slab, clattered to the ground. His legs lost all strength; his knees buckled, his calves dragged on the ground a couple of times, and then he collapsed to the ground like a pile of mud.
His face was completely unrecognizable, swollen and deformed as if someone had inflated his skin with an air pump. Bluish-purple bruises were piled up under his skin, his eyes were half-open and half-closed, his eyeballs hanging outside his eye sockets, and blood mixed with saliva flowed from the corner of his mouth, accumulating in a small puddle on the bluestone slab.
Luo Fei released his left hand, and Saki Kojiro's clothes slipped from his grasp, causing him to fall to the ground with a thud.
The square fell silent.
That silence wasn't quiet in the ordinary sense; it was a deathly stillness that came from when everyone was gripped by fear.
Volcanic ash fell from the sky, landing on Saki Kojiro's disfigured face, on Hanase Kanmaru's lonely head, and on the pale faces of the remaining five members of the Kamikaze Group.
The chat in the live stream paused for a full three seconds.
For three seconds, the screen was blank—no comments, no gifts, nothing at all. All the viewers were stunned, their fingers frozen on the keyboard, forgetting to type, their mouths agape.
Then the comments exploded like a tsunami.
"It turned its head three times in a row."
"Did I see that right? He turned his head three times?"
"Those eyeballs practically popped out, my God!"
"Seven or eight punches in a row, the last punch leaving his head like this."
"Did you all see that impact clearly? Captain Luo was thrown back by his own body."
"This isn't human power, it's the power of a monster."
"The second one!!! The second one!!!"
"Second head secured to avenge the 52 lives lost by the Ghost Squad."
"Long live Captain Luo! Long live Captain Luo!"
Masako Yamaya leaned against the doorframe, her legs trembling. Her back pressed against the cold wooden doorframe, her fingers digging into the edge, her nails carving into the wood.
She looked at Kojiro Saki's disfigured face lying on the ground, her stomach churned, and a wave of acid rose in her throat. She covered her mouth tightly with her uncovered hand.
May Ayaka's expression finally changed. The coldness on her face vanished completely, replaced by a panic she had never shown in front of others. Her pupils dilated, her breathing became rapid and uneven, and her chest heaved more and more violently.
She instinctively took a half step back, but her leg hit the step behind her, and she almost tripped.
Dark Moon Asura's arms, which had been crossed over his chest, had been lowered at some point.
He held the slender cigarette between two fingers, but forgot to put it in his mouth; it was just held up in mid-air, with a long streak of ash stuck on the tip.
His eyes were fixed on Luo Fei, the ferocity in his gaze still present, but beneath that ferocity lay something else—a wariness that only arises when facing one's own kind.
Tenyu Kamikura's lips curled up even higher. His eyes were filled with fanaticism and excitement, his lips parted slightly in agitation, revealing his teeth—the instinctive reaction of a wild beast upon seeing a powerful enemy. But he didn't move; he awaited orders.
Takijiro Onishi stood rooted to the spot, his expression completely frozen.
He looked at the headless corpse of Hana Yujianmaru, then glanced at the corpse of Saki Kojiro whose face had turned into mud, and then looked at Luo Fei.
His lips moved twice, and the veins on his forehead bulged one by one, extending from his temples all the way to his neck, throbbing under his skin like dark blue earthworms.
His fists were clenched so tightly they made a cracking sound.
Then he abruptly raised his right hand and swung it at the remaining four men, the muscles in his arm bulging from the force, stretching the fabric of his sleeve taut. His voice burst from his throat, a hoarse huskiness a mixture of anger and tension—
"All of you, attack at once!"
Takijiro Onishi's roar echoed across the plaza, the final note striking the surrounding wooden buildings and bouncing back, creating an invisible ripple in the volcanic ash-filled air.
He practically screamed the words "Attack me all at once!" His voice was a mixture of anger, fear, and the shame and frustration of being the head of the Kamikaze Bureau but unable to control the situation.
He stood in front of the remaining four members of the Kamikaze Group, his right arm still in a swinging motion, the fabric of his sleeve stretched into several wrinkles from the excessive force.
The veins on his forehead were still throbbing, and the blood vessels on his neck bulged like dark blue earthworms. His whole face was flushed a dark red from the blood rushing to his head.
However, Tenyu Kamakura did not move.
He stood less than three steps to the right of Takijiro Onishi, his feet firmly planted on the bluestone slabs as if rooted to the ground.
He casually slung the oddly shaped longsword over his shoulder, blade facing upwards. The dark red patterns on the blade looked even more eerie against the backdrop of volcanic ash.
He heard Takijiro Onishi's command, but not a single muscle fiber in his body tensed up. Instead, the upturned corner of his mouth widened, revealing his upper and lower rows of teeth.
His eyes were not on Takijiro Onishi.
His eyes were fixed on Luo Fei, and what burned in those eyes was not anger or hatred, but a pure, undisguised excitement—the kind of fervor that only a hunter would show when he saw prey worth hunting.
Dark Moon Shura didn't move either. He stood four steps to the left of Onishi Takijiro, holding the slender cigarette between two fingers. The ash on the cigarette butt had piled up quite a bit, and the grayish-white ash column hung there precariously, but he didn't flick it off.
He crossed his arms over his chest again, the double-edged sword tucked between his left elbow, hilt facing outwards, blade downwards, the blade reflecting the volcanic ash falling from the sky.
His gaze was different from that of Tenyu Kamikura. Tenyu Kamikura's gaze was fanatical and excited, like a shark that had smelled blood. But Dark Moon Shura's gaze was cold, a coldness that emanated from his very bones.
He looked at Luo Fei as if he were sizing up an object, assessing a threat, or calculating the odds of winning a battle. There was no fear or anger in that gaze, only an almost mechanical calmness.
The two of them stood there, motionless, as if they hadn't heard what Takijiro Onishi had said.
After Takijiro Onishi's roar subsided, the plaza remained silent for about three seconds.
He turned to look at Tianyu Shencang, then at Anyue Xiuluo, his expression shifting from anger to astonishment, and then back to anger—but this time the anger was more violent than before, because it was mixed with a kind of humiliation called "being ignored by his subordinates".
His cheeks puffed out, his teeth clenched so tightly they clicked, and the veins on his temples throbbed twice as fast. He suddenly turned to face Amagami Kamikura, his right index finger jabbing out, the tip almost hitting Kamikura's nose.
"Tianyu Shencang!"
Takijiro Onishi's voice was already hoarse, and when it came out of his throat, it had a sharp, metallic quality to it. "Are you deaf? I said come at me all at once! Come at me all at once!"
Tenyu Kamikura finally turned his gaze away from Luo Fei. He lowered his eyelids to glance at the finger that Onishi Takijiro was pointing at him, then raised his eyelids to look at Onishi Takijiro's face.
His lips were still upturned, but a faint hint of impatience flashed in his eyes, like the impatience one feels after a fly has buzzed in one's ear.
He didn't speak.
Seeing Ame no Kamikura's indifferent attitude, Onishi Takijiro's anger flared up. He abruptly pulled his hand back, turned around, and took two steps toward Dark Moon Shura, his leather shoes thumping heavily on the bluestone slabs.
"Dark Moon Asura!"
Takijiro Onishi stood before Dark Moon Shura, needing to tilt his head slightly to see Shura's eyes due to the height difference. "What do you two mean? Luo Fei killed Hana Yu Kanmaru, killed Sasaki Kojiro, and is still standing here, and you're just going to stand by and watch? I order you—"
He didn't finish his sentence.
Dark Moon Asura moved.
No one saw clearly how Dark Moon Asura moved.
When his right hand withdrew from his clasped arms, it left only a blurry afterimage. The two fingers holding the cigarette loosened in an instant, the cigarette slipped from his fingers, and a long piece of ash on the cigarette butt dispersed in the air, the grayish-white ash drifting away like a small cloud of mist.
Then a flash of light appeared.
That wasn't a slashing flash, but a horizontal slash. The blade entered from the right side of Onishi Takijiro's body, exited from his left waist, and traversed his entire abdominal cavity.
How fast was the blade? So fast that no blood splattered when it sliced through flesh; so fast that Takijiro Onishi didn't even feel the pain immediately.
Takijiro Onishi's expression froze for a moment.
His mouth was still open, the last "up" syllable still lingering on his lips, but he could no longer make a sound.
He felt a chill in his lower abdomen, a chill that came not from the outside but from inside his body—as if a cold wind had passed through his abdominal cavity.
He looked down at his waist.
His upper body was sliding down.
It wasn't a fall, it wasn't bending over, it was the entire upper body sliding down.
Starting from his waist, a neat incision appeared between his upper and lower body, extending from below his right ribs to above his left hip bone, like a line drawn with a ruler.
The skin and muscle at the incision site were cut neatly, and even the intestines were cut into a perfect cross-section. Dark red blood gushed out from the incision and flowed down his pants.
Takijiro Onishi's eyes widened to their maximum.
His pupils contracted violently, and his eye sockets split slightly from the exertion, with fine blood vessels stretching across the skin at the corners of his eyes.
He opened his mouth to shout, but only a very faint gurgling sound came from his throat. The air rushed up from his trachea but was blocked halfway by his severed abdominal cavity, and in the end, only a string of indistinct blood bubbles came out of his throat.
His upper body continued to slide down.
The cut at his waist was completely misaligned, and his upper body slid to the right front while his lower body remained stationary. His hands unconsciously twitched in the air, his fingers trying to grab onto something to steady himself, but he grasped nothing.
His upper body slid off his lower body and fell onto the bluestone slab with a thud.
Then his lower body collapsed as well.
His legs veered to the side from the cut at the waist, his knees bent, his calves kicked the ground twice, and then his lower body fell backward like a chopped log, hitting the ground with a dull thud.
The calves inside the trouser legs were still twitching, the muscles twitching and pulsating under the skin, as if carrying out commands that the brain could no longer issue.
Only then did the blood begin to actually spurt.
A jet of blood spurted from the severed upper body of Takijiro Onishi. Dark red blood gushed out from the severed aorta, splashing out two meters away and drawing a fan-shaped bloodstain on the bluestone slab.
Blood began to gush from the cut on his lower body, flowing through the cracks in the bluestone slabs and mixing with the blood of Hana Yukanmaru and Saki Kojiro.
Takijiro Onishi's eyes were still open. His upper body was lying on the bluestone slab, his face facing the sky, his mouth was still opening and closing unconsciously, as if he was trying to say something, but no sound came out.
He scratched at the stone slab with his fingers, leaving shallow white marks on the surface with his fingernails, and then his fingers lost their strength and lay limply on the stone slab.
From the moment Dark Moon Shura made his move to the moment Onishi Takijiro's upper body slid down, the entire process took less than a second.
The square fell silent once again.
The remaining two Kamikaze members—the two whose names had never been mentioned—stood five steps behind Takijiro Onishi. Their faces were no longer deathly pale, but a deathly ashen white. (End of Chapter)
