Chapter 1381 Iron Overlord Appears
"Ms. Potts' cell phone signal was last seen at Stark Industries, Mr. Stark."
Jarvis' voice was calm and objective, but it revealed something unusual.
"What? You're still in the company now? Jarvis, is our business so busy recently that we don't even let go of dinner time?"
Tony frowned, feeling an ominous premonition in his heart.
Tony knew that Potts wasn't one to work overtime for no reason, especially on the night they had agreed to work.
"Mr. Stark, not only that, the company's surveillance cameras are malfunctioning."
Jarvis' report made Tony's expression even more serious.
"Everything is malfunctioning?"
Tony repeated incredulously, his voice rising a few notches.
Although Stark Industries' monitoring system was not designed by him personally, its complexity and reliability are among the best in the industry.
As a large military-industrial enterprise, the company's security monitoring is divided into three independent systems, each of which is maintained by a different team to ensure that it can remain operational under any circumstances.
Not to mention, there is a backup monitoring system as a last line of defense.
It's almost impossible for them to fail at the same time, unless... someone did it on purpose.
"Yes, Mr. Stark, all systems are indicating a fault status."
Jarvis answered.
Tony quickly sorted out the possible situations in his mind, and one hypothesis after another was proposed and rejected.
Finally, the answer he was most reluctant to face gradually became clear - someone was targeting him, and this person was probably inside the company. Thinking of this, Tony's heart sank suddenly.
He quickly activated the emergency response program and remotely accessed Stark Industries' backup monitoring system through Jarvis. Although the main system was paralyzed, the backup system still retained some monitoring records.
Tony carefully examined these scattered images, trying to find clues. In the images, several figures were moving quickly in the corridor. Although their faces could not be seen clearly, their actions were obviously purposeful and they avoided all areas that might trigger the alarm.
"Jarvis, analyze these figures and see if you can identify them."
Tony gave the order, praying for a good outcome.
However, Jarvis's answer made him feel disappointed.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Stark, but due to the loss of quality of the image before the camera malfunction, effective facial recognition is not possible."
Jarvis' answer was calm and objective, but it was like a bucket of cold water poured on Tony's heart.
Tony took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down.
He knew that the most important thing now was to find Potts and ensure her safety. At the same time, he had to find out the truth behind all this. Whoever dared to touch him would be prepared to pay the price.
"JARVIS, activate all available security measures, including hidden cameras and emergency evacuation procedures."
Tony issued a series of instructions, rushed home immediately, put on his Iron Man armor, and prepared to go to Stark Industries in person to uncover the conspiracy.
"Sir, do you need to contact the police and Mr. Chang Wei?"
Jarvis reminded.
“…Not necessary for now.”
Tony thought that no matter who caused trouble, his iron suit could solve it.
Before arriving at the company's gate, Tony found that the situation was more serious than he had imagined.
The office building, which was usually brightly lit, was now completely dark, with only the occasional flashing emergency lights reminding people that this was not an abandoned place. Tony took a deep breath and prepared to sneak into the company.
"Jarvis, activate emergency access, I need you to light the way ahead for me."
Tony said.
As the suit system started up, a screen of light gradually lit up in front of Tony's eyes. It was a simple map that Jarvis had temporarily constructed using the remaining backup data on the company's internal network.
Although the surveillance system failed, Tony and Jarvis' tacit cooperation and their familiarity with the company allowed them to still move forward in the dark.
The positioning was based on the location of Potts' phone, and then Tony discovered that it was Obadiah's previous office.
This gave him a bad feeling, but he also felt it was impossible.
Until he groped his way to the vicinity of the office, he approached the door cautiously, ready to start the scanning detection, but before he could make any move, a loud noise suddenly sounded, the wall seemed to be torn apart by an invisible force, and a huge metal arm suddenly stretched out and grabbed Tony tightly.
The arm exuded a cold metallic luster, and each knuckle was designed with extreme precision, as if born for strength.
Its palms closed easily, gripping Tony's waist and abdomen tightly, with such great force that Tony could hardly move.
He was startled but tried to remain calm, looking quickly around for a chance to escape.
"Tony!"
Just then, a familiar and anxious voice came from inside the office.
It was Pepper, she was tied to an office chair with ropes, her face was pale, her eyes were full of fear and worry. When she saw Tony's appearance, she seemed to see the dawn of hope and shouted quickly.
"You're late for our dinner, Potts."
Tony teased in a lighthearted manner, trying to ease the tense atmosphere.
But his eyes were extremely sharp, staring closely at the owner of the metal arm, trying to find clues from the other person's figure.
"Tony, I'm back."
A low and hoarse voice came from the shadows of the office, and along with this voice, a large man in dark blue slowly walked out. It was Obadiah.
He was wearing a completely new suit of armor, different from any Tony had seen before, much larger and more ferocious, like a behemoth crawling out of hell.
"Stan???"
There was disbelief in Tony's voice, how could he be here?
He had clearly been sent to a prison for serious criminals, how could he possibly escape?
Also, what's with the armor on him? Countless questions flashed through Tony's mind, each of which shocked and confused him.
"I didn't realize you didn't have the permission to delete me. That's surprising."
There was a hint of smugness and sarcasm in Obadiah's voice.
He originally thought that all traces of him would be erased by Tony, including the backdoor of the weapons, various permissions and passwords of the company.
But surprisingly, Tony didn't do that.
This gave him an opportunity.
Tony's emotions were extremely complicated.
He did not remove Obadiah's authority, not out of negligence or carelessness, but out of consideration for their old friendship.
After all, they had once been the closest of friends and had experienced many ups and downs together.
