Chapter 1715 The Heroic Bombardier

That's the B-2A "Spirit" stealth strategic bomber.

Like a sword of Damocles hanging over the head of a stratosphere, it hovers coldly and silently at the edge of the stratosphere. Inside its bomb bay is a weapon capable of completely altering the landscape and bringing about permanent ecological disaster—the B83-1 variable-yield thermonuclear bomb (with a maximum yield of 120 megatons of TNT).

The existence of the "Shadow Watchers" is the darkest trump card in the plan, the "final option".

It doesn't need to be near the battlefield or send any signals.

It only needs to remain absolutely silent, above the clouds, like a cold grim reaper, patiently waiting for the single instruction from the "Deephammer" command center—either "Peace" to terminate the mission, or "Meltdown" to initiate the final judgment.

What sustains its existence is the continuous, yet silent, flow of location and status information on that encrypted data chain, proving that this sword still hangs high.

The atmosphere in the command center had transcended mere stillness, reaching a critical point. The enormous main screen dominated everyone's field of vision. On the left, real-time data streams of the "Lancer's" altitude, speed, and heading scrolled frantically; in the center was a constantly shrinking countdown and the "Giant Lizard's" heart-pounding cursor; on the right were real-time images transmitted from drones and satellites, their images smeared with static due to interference, vaguely revealing the terrifying silhouette moving through the ruins like a moving mountain, and the occasional flashes of eerie blue light from its back or shoulders, indicating the charging of particle beam weapons.

"Deep Hammer One, receiving orders! Highest priority evasion confirmed! Core mission confirmed: Ensure one MOP hits the core area! Entering attack path!"

"Deep Hammer II received! Avoidance procedure pre-positioning! Target locked!"

The pilot's voice came through the communication channel, barely containing his tension, yet revealing a resolute determination.

The chief weapons officer's hands flew across the control panel, sweat soaking his temples as he hoarsely reported: "MOP fire control data link stable! Target coordinates continuously updated! Geological penetration model running... Primary strike point confirmed! Secondary strike point on standby! Geological disturbance at the 'Giant Lizard' excavation point has intensified, potentially affecting final hit accuracy! We recommend the crew seize the opportunity!"

The electronic warfare officer stared intently at the spectrum analyzer, his voice tense: "Strong, abnormal energy fluctuations detected! Suspected target particle beam weapon main capacitor array charging! Characteristic peaks are rapidly increasing! Warning! Warning! 'Giant Lizard' is about to gain attack capability! 'Deep Hammer' crew in high danger!"

"Deep Hammer One! High-energy radiation source detected! Evade! Evade! Initiate extreme dive! Release all chaff!"

The communication channel was instantly filled with piercing alarms and the pilot's rapid breathing.

On the main screen, the light spot representing Unit 1 suddenly plunged downwards, releasing a dense array of interference signals.

"Unit Two! Follow Unit One! Maintain dispersion! Watch out for the particle beam sweeping sector!"

The lead aircraft commander's voice roared.

Almost at the same time the command was issued, the live feed on the right side of the main screen, which was covered in static, suddenly lit up!
A thick, terrifying beam of light, somewhere between a deep blue and a blazing white, tore through the dark, ruined background like a divine spear of judgment! It wasn't a precise, single shot, but rather a wide-ranging, horizontal sweep at a despairing speed!

Wherever the beam of light passed, the air was violently ionized, emitting a ghostly buzzing sound (which was chilling even when transmitted through sensors), the ground was plowed into bottomless lava trenches, exposed steel bars instantly vaporized, and the top of a distant hill disappeared silently!
"My God..." someone in the command center murmured unconsciously.

The pilots' heavy breathing and coughing came through the comms; clearly, the extreme dive and the close-range energy impact had taken a toll on their bodies. "Altitude too low! We're recovering! Second pilot, it's your turn! Don't worry about us, seize the opportunity!"

Just as the particle beam swept across the sky and its light had not yet completely dissipated, "Deep Hammer 2" seized this fleeting window of opportunity!

Unlike the lead aircraft, it did not perform a violent vertical evasive maneuver. Instead, while the lead aircraft drew fire, it relied on the B-1B's amazing low-altitude and high-speed performance to closely follow the bottom of a "canyon" formed by a huge, collapsed concrete wreckage. Like a deadly black lightning bolt, it charged towards the "giant lizard's" back, which resembled a moving mountain, with almost suicidal courage!

This angle cleverly utilizes the dual concealment of the "giant lizard's" massive body and the ruined terrain, making it temporarily impossible to aim at the huge raised structure on its back that appears to be a particle beam emitter.

"Unit 2 has entered the final attack path! Target locked! Primary strike point! MOP fire control data link stable!"

The chief weapons officer's shout drowned out the alarm: "Severe geological disturbance! The impact point prediction model is fluctuating wildly! We must drop the bombs immediately!"

"Target energy fluctuations surged again! The main capacitor array of the particle beam weapon is charging faster than expected! It...it's rapidly turning! Unit 2 is about to be exposed on the attack axis!"

The electronic warfare officer's voice trembled with a hint of despair.

The command center felt as if its heart were being clenched by an icy hand. All eyes were fixed on the main screen. The dot representing "Deep Hammer II" was charging with a desperate momentum towards the pulsating crimson cursor, the source of destruction. The countdown had dwindled to single digits.

"Deep Hammer II! Target exposed! High-energy radiation locked on! Evade! Evade!" The lead aircraft commander's voice tore through the communication channel.

"Evasion?! To hell with evasion!" The second pilot's voice, amidst immense G-forces and fear, erupted with a fanatical resolve. "Fire control lock! MOP ONE! Drop! Drop! Drop!!!"

Almost simultaneously with the roar, the main screen clearly displayed a heavy signal dot representing a large aerial bomb separating from the light spot on "Deep Hammer II"! The GBU-57A/B MOP, this 14-ton "underground bunker terminator" forged from high-density alloy and carrying 2.4 tons of high-explosive, instantly deployed its massive cruciform deceleration fins upon release. This wasn't for slowing down, but rather to stabilize the missile's attitude in the initial phase, ensuring it hurtled towards the ground at a near-vertical angle, carrying terrifying kinetic energy!
"MOP disembarkation! Disembarkation confirmed!" The weapons officer's voice was choked with sobs.

"Unit 2! Maximum afterburner! Full right rudder! Ground-hugging! Ground-hugging!!" The lead aircraft commander's eyes were bloodshot.

The moment the bomb was dropped, the "Deep Hammer II" pushed the throttle past the safety red line to enter military afterburner mode, and at the same time pushed the control stick all the way to the right!
