Chapter 477: Rose Transfers to Another School
Chapter 477: Rose-Transferring to a New School (Part )
Case Seven Rose
Transfer to another school (Part 1)
There was no dispute about the autopsy result that the explosion in the police car caused inhalation injury and resulted in death. Chen Haibin's wife, who had been standing by with clenched teeth and trembling, suddenly swayed and was about to fall to the ground. She almost fainted at the moment when she was hurriedly supported by a group of leaders from the prison and detention center who came to express their condolences. She collapsed and sat down on the plastic bench in the corridor.
Gu Xing held a cigarette in his mouth, standing silently outside the crowd of concerned people. His eyes were dry and sore, but he could not squeeze out a bit of moisture. He just smoked one cigarette after another, staring at Zhu Silai, who was explaining the interpretation and appraisal report to the leaders of the detention center who were presiding over the scene. He turned away with a hesitant look, holding the cigarette butt and preparing to find a place to flick the ash, but he saw Chen Mian, who was wearing a school uniform and huddled in the corner of the window sill or wall of the corridor of the funeral home. He paused hesitantly.
Gu Xing hadn't seen his beloved son, whom Chen Haibin always talked about, for a while. The tall young man looked more like Chen Haibin's wife than his peers. He was a little out of tune with the silent tears in the crowd. He swung the school badge wrapped around his wrist, squatted on the basketball and frowned in boredom.
Chen Mian first looked at the tip of the shoe that stopped in front of him, then he raised his head and stared at Gu Xing for a few seconds. Perhaps he had long forgotten the name and origin of this familiar policeman. He pursed his lips and mumbled for a while, but in the end he said nothing. He only nodded gently at Gu Xing, then hung his head and rake his head awkwardly, and said awkwardly: "Uncle, do you have a power bank? My phone is out of battery."
Gu Xing was a little angry for no reason. He ignored Chen Mian at first, walked away a few steps with a cigarette in his mouth, and suddenly turned back, lowered his eyes and stared at the school uniform hanging on his shoulders.
"Chen Mian."
Gu Xing rarely concealed his emotions in front of the child, and his voice was deep and intimidating. Chen Mian's careless movements were frightened by him and he raised his head with some inexplicable fear, his eyes swaying as if he was secretly observing him. After thinking for a long time, he spoke like a mosquito: "...You are very familiar with my father?"
"We've become strangers even though we said we were so familiar with each other." Gu Xing didn't intend to chat with him superficially about these trivial things. He raised his chin and pointed at the badge on his school uniform. "Last time I heard him say that he wanted to use his connections to help you get admitted to a higher school. A key school in the city - when did you transfer to that school?"
"I've even heard about my mom arguing with him, so he's really familiar with me."
Chen Mian tilted his head and curled his lips. "It's been a while since I changed schools. I changed schools after the winter vacation. Anyway, I just listened to my mom's notification about where to go to school. I would go wherever she told me to go happily...but my dad didn't want to. He asked me to withdraw even though the formalities were completed. He had a big fight with my mom and was not at home for days...From the time I can remember till now, I haven't said a few words to him all year round. Whenever we open our mouths, we quarrel. The last time he came back, he said that he was punished and lost his job title or something. We just shouted that we wanted to divorce, but who would have thought that he would be lying here after hearing his letter...I don't know why my mom is so sad. Isn't it good that no one bothers her?"
Chen Mian finally slowly expressed some emotions of separation and death. His voice choked and he stopped talking, determined to firmly hold the reputation of a rebellious teenager on his head. He waved his hand with his head down, pointing behind Gu Xing not far away: "Are you done asking? There is someone looking for you over there. If you have anything to ask, go find my mom. If you don't have anything to ask, don't bother me."
The leaders of the detention center and the prison each shouldered half of the trivial matters of the funeral home's aftermath. When Gu Xing followed Zhu Silai into the car, the procedures for Chen Haibin's death on duty had already been implemented. When he drove out of the main entrance of the funeral home, he saw Chen Mian again. The child seemed to have borrowed the power supply and lighter from the security room, secretly biting the flickering cigarette butt, curled up motionlessly in the deep shadows.
Zhu Silai also glanced at Chen Mian through the car window and sighed slowly: "Did Chen Mian have some trouble with Chen Haibin a while ago? For such a long time... I think he didn't even show up?"
"How can a boy of his age have a good conversation with his father? The quarrel is either because of making friends or because of school..." Gu Xing tapped the steering wheel twice, and suddenly snapped his fingers at Zhu Silai, "Do you have any classmates working in the education industry? Can you help me find out something?"
"Whose child do you know is going to transfer schools? My classmate is planning to pursue a career in politics and get promoted. Let me tell you, don't try to get involved in corruption or backdoor dealings..." Zhu Si was halfway through his words when he suddenly turned his gaze away from Chen Mian, almost leaning on the back of the passenger seat, staring straight at the brand new, ill-fitting school uniform on Chen Mian. "Did this kid transfer schools? How did he do that? To study at his own expense? Where did Chen Haibin's recent criticism come from..."
"Please ask your impartial classmates to find out if there is any unorthodox information about Chen Mian's transfer to a higher school..."
Gu Xing frowned, "The explosion of the vehicle is definitely not a coincidence. It may not only be related to Song Yike... There is something wrong with what Lao Chen did."
After the accident, Gu Xing and Zhu Silai stayed in the funeral home all night. When they turned the car back to the backyard of the Municipal Bureau at five in the morning, they ran into Jiang Mo, who had run to the backyard to ask Lao Liu from the cafeteria who had just returned from buying vegetables early in the morning to help him heat up a bowl of noodles.
"...Master? Officer Chen has been busy for so long? Team Lin came back first and waited for you for half the night."
Jiang Mo slept for an hour or so in the small conference room. His hair, which had not been washed yet was sticking up because of the weight he laid on it. He rubbed his eyes dazedly at Gu Xing before coming to his senses. He yawned for a long time, squinted his eyes, and looked at his dear master who was holding on to Zhu Silai who was trying to slip away from get off work first, and then stroked his messy hair seriously.
"Team Lin said...Team Huang called you in the middle of the night, but you didn't answer. Then he left you a message. Did you see it?"
Jiang Mo rubbed his cheeks that were chilled by the morning breeze, and clasped his fists to thank Old Liu, who had added soup to her bowl of dead noodles and heated up an egg to help revive them. He turned around and made way for Gu Xing, who had "hostaged" Zhu Si to accompany him to work overtime for another half an hour. "After the car was salvaged, it seemed that the deputy director of the Trace Inspection Center came to assist in the investigation of the cause of the fire. After finding the small explosion point of the fire, Team Huang and Team Lin went to the repair shop that had just helped the Second Institute to repair the old car a while ago..."
"This car has only been out of the police's sight and control when it was in the repair shop." Gu Xing yawned due to Jiang Mo's infection. He thought for two seconds and roughly guessed, "Is there something wrong with the person who inspected it, or has the replaced parts been tampered with? Or--"
Jiang Mo raised his eyebrows slightly, and nodded confidently in agreement with Gu Xing's guess.
"Both."
Due to work and health reasons, I will be working on another day~
"I don't realize I am just a guest in a dream, I indulge in pleasure for a moment."
