Chapter 607 Exorcising Inner Demons

The voice was like a spell, constantly chanting.

The already sharp and grotesque face was swollen from the slaps, and blood flowed from its seven orifices. The furious expression turned fearful, and the face became timid.

"How about I hit you?" Jiang Wen sneered, raising his hand to slap the woman's large face, leaving a mark. "I'm hitting a wicked woman like you!"

"Don't hit my mother! I'll fight you to the death!" Upon seeing this, another fat face angrily charged towards Jiang Wen.

"Yes!" the little girl nodded.

"Hit it," Jiang Wen said, pointing to the woman's face.

"But..." The little girl hesitated and was afraid, clenching her hands and not daring to step forward.

"It's okay to hit it. It won't dare to bully you again."

Jiang Wen gently comforted the little girl, patted the woman's face, and then disgustedly wiped himself off.

“Come on, close your eyes and raise your hand to slap.”

The little girl listened to Jiang Wen's words, closed her eyes, and bit her lip. She gently waved her small hand forward and slapped the woman's face.

Just then, Jiang Wen pinched the woman's face tightly, causing her to cry out in pain.

The little girl opened her eyes and stared blankly at her palm. It was as if the slapping she had just experienced was an illusion, leaving her in disbelief.

The little girl puffed out her cheeks and hesitantly raised her hand. The woman glared at her fiercely, startling the little girl into taking a few steps back.

"Don't be afraid, that's all it dares to do. Once you hit them hard, they'll be afraid of you. Come on, try again."

Hearing that comforting voice, the little girl mustered up her courage.

She pursed her lips and slapped the woman's face hard with her small hand.

The crisp sound rang out again.

The little girl stared wide-eyed, unable to believe it was true.

She looked at the woman's face and slapped it hard across the face again.

Overwhelmed with courage, the little girl was no longer timid. She tried slapping the woman a few more times, making her scream repeatedly.

"I'll hit you, I'll hit you! You bullied me, I'll hit you!" The little girl got carried away with hitting, slapping the woman's face repeatedly. The woman screamed in pain, while the little girl laughed happily.

As she laughed, tears streamed down the little girl's face, as if years of humiliation were being released in this moment. She laughed and cried, but the slaps never stopped. She slapped the woman's face, then the fat face, until she finally tired herself out.

Both faces were now swollen and disfigured. They looked at Jiang Wen and the little girl in terror, no longer daring to resist in the slightest.

"They're now yours to deal with. What are you going to do with them?" Jiang Wen asked the little girl, his face contorted with embarrassment.

He lowered the candle, ready to burn it to death at any moment.

Seeing this, both faces showed despair and kept begging Jiang Wen for mercy.

Jiang Wen ignored them and waited for the little girl's decision.

"I...I..." The little girl stared at the two faces, hesitant, her brows furrowed with worry. It was clear she was still conflicted.

“Whatever you do, I will approve of your approach,” Jiang Wen said.

Upon hearing this, the little girl looked up at Jiang Wen.

"Let them go, Yuanyuan doesn't want to see them anymore. They're mean to Yuanyuan, but Yuanyuan can't be like them," the little girl said earnestly. "Let them go, big brother."

"Okay," Jiang Wen said firmly.

Releasing the two faces from his grasp, he looked them in the eye and calmly said, "Never appear here again, or I will burn you to ashes."

"Okay, okay. We'll never do it again, we'll never do it again."

The two faces huddled together, trembling. They nodded repeatedly to Jiang Wen, then vanished into the darkness.

After they left, Jiang Wen looked at the little girl again.

"There are still many dangers outside. Do you still dare to come with me to find your parents?"

“Dare! Yuanyuan is already very brave!” the little girl shouted.

After the ordeal she just went through, she seemed to have become stronger.

Jiang Wen took her small hand, and the two walked out of the courtyard.

The night in the mountain village was pitch black, with not a single star in the sky.

In all directions, only the candle in Jiang Wen's hand illuminated their path. They walked towards the edge of the village, because the little girl firmly believed that her parents were waiting for her there.

The road out of the village was incredibly long, and all sorts of strange and wonderful things happened along the way.

Jiang Wen watched as the fierce man, the old and eerie village chief, the wicked bandits, and the cold and vicious cultivator appeared one by one, only to disappear again in the candlelight.

Only the two of them, one big and one small, walked resolutely towards the edge of the village.

When they reached the village entrance, the little girl wiped her eyes.

She smiled sweetly at Jiang Wen.

"Big brother, thank you."
