Chapter 673 Conferment of Titles

Chapter 673 Conferment of Titles
A few days later, Jiang Wen made preparations for various matters, and during this time he also introduced Liang Yuan to Jiang Su.

Without explaining Jiang Su's background, Liang Yuan showed her considerable respect. She merely sensed the woman's aura and felt an immense terror wash over her. A chill ran through her; she knew then that the aloof and stunningly beautiful woman before her was no ordinary person, but a highly skilled individual from the Dao Palace.

Not daring to be too presumptuous, they waited for Jiang Su with the utmost care, like maids. Jiang Wen chuckled inwardly at this, thinking that the presumptuous Liang Yuan had finally met his match.

The group settled down in the Sky Tower, where the spiritual energy was much greater than in the outer ring of the capital. The little girl Zhen also stayed with Jiang Wen, as this place was far superior to the outer ring.

After Jiang Wen returned from Aunt Zhen's place, she told her about it. From then on, she no longer had to be confined to the Dragon Clan.

During the days of waiting, Jiang Wen traveled to many places in the Land of Divine Blessing. He came to the border of Divine Blessing and saw the boundless twilight.

In that twilight, boundless divine power surged. Even with the Four Symbols Sword Formation protecting him, Jiang Wen dared not easily cross this border wall.

Incidentally, he also visited the Ji clan in Baixi. However, to his dismay, this Ji clan was not the one he had imagined, nor was it a descendant of Jiang Wenji. Although they possessed the bloodline of the Taicang royal family's Jiang clan, it was very sparse.

Having found the elders of the Ji clan, Jiang Wen learned about their origins. The Ji clan existed tens of thousands of years ago, and they knew little about their ancestors before that. However, clan records indicated that their ancestors seemed to have come from a great ancient clan, which had split and declined to its current state.

“Our clan has members in other tribes. The Ji clan does not reside in Baixi, but rather in the Baihai tribe. As for now, it has been almost eighty years since we last met,” sighed the Ji clan elder.

In the end, Jiang Wen did not disturb them, but left behind a battle manual. It was a battle manual he had developed back in Taicang, combining various battle manuals and using the merit stele to deduce it. It could be considered a masterpiece of military battle manuals. It incorporated the battle manuals of the Four Symbols Legion and was comparable to the secret manuals of immortal sects.

This can be considered as him helping the descendants of the Taicang Jiang clan.

After returning to the Azure Sky Tower, Jiang Wen devoted himself to cultivating the "Outer Landscape Scripture." Now, his Qi is about to be perfected, and he will be able to achieve the Return of Fire Qi to its Origin.

Once he has been tempered by the Samadhi Fire, he can then refine the Four Symbols Sword Formation here.

More than ten days later, outside the inner ring of the Cangtian Tower, the weather today is extraordinary.

The huge circular plaza is paved with obsidian, and twenty-eight towering stone pillars stand along its edge, each carved with ancient totems of different tribes.

Looking down from the top of the tower, one can see colorful crowds converging on the main roads of Baixi Shendu towards Cangtian Tower.

The Rock People's group was the most conspicuous. They were tall, their stone skin gleaming with a metallic sheen in the sunlight, and the ground trembled slightly as they walked.

Yan Ming was wearing a brand-new set of black stone armor, with the mountain totem of the Rock People engraved on his chest, and his face was filled with undisguised excitement and pride.

He kept excitedly talking to an elderly rock dweller beside him who looked similar to him but was much more weathered and aged. The old man stroked his long beard and looked at the high platform with satisfaction in his eyes.

The winged people did not land, but hovered in mid-air, their pure white wings unfurling and shimmering in the sunlight. They held silver bells in their hands, which rang out crisply as they flew.

Xuan Jue stood quietly in the ranks of the four-armed tribe, his four hands hanging naturally at his sides. He had specially changed into a dark blue, close-fitting outfit today, with the four-armed tribe's totem embroidered on the shoulders. When Jiang Wen's gaze swept over him, he nodded slightly, a sincere smile playing on his lips.

Xuanjue had also heard about what his friend, Jia Enren, had done from the clan elders.

After so many years, the Sky Tower will finally have one more thirteenth elder.

On the other side, the warriors of the Rakshasa tribe stood solemnly on one side of the square. They had blue faces and fangs, and were clad in heavy armor, but their eyes were no longer as fierce as before.

When Jiang Wen appeared, they all struck their left chests with their right fists, the armor clashing together with a dull thud—this was the Rakshasa tribe's custom of expressing the highest respect.

That was a gift of gratitude to their savior, an expression of thanks for saving the Rakshasa people. Yan and Ying stood among them, their eyes shining as they looked at Jiang Wen. "Yan, that's an honored guest. He's also a benefactor of our clan. If he has time, please come to our clan," Ying said solemnly.

He still remembered the danger that occurred in the Immortal Cave that day. If it weren't for this benefactor, the Rakshasa clan would likely have been wiped out from the ranks of the major clans. After all, while the Rakshasa warriors were valiant and skilled in battle, their reproductive capabilities were less than satisfactory. The clan's population was only a million, unlike other major clans.

The Rakshasa people will never forget the great kindness of saving hundreds of thousands of Rakshasa.

On another high platform, the dragon people sat, most of them with stern faces, dressed in formal blue robes with gold patterns.

Ao Xuan, a golden-scaled dragon, stood at the front of the line, arms crossed. His pale golden vertical pupils held a complex mix of emotions, including confusion and a hint of barely concealed disgust. Behind him, several young dragon-people whispered amongst themselves, their gazes frequently glancing at Jiang Wen with obvious rejection.

Several of Jiang Wen's close associates were seated at the front of the audience.

Jiang Su remained dressed in white, her demeanor cool and aloof, but when she looked at Jiang Wen, a subtle softening appeared in her eyes. Liang Yuan, on the other hand, wore clothing in the Baixi style and curiously observed the representatives of various ethnic groups around her. When her gaze met Jiang Wen's, she winked at him.

The youngest, Jiang Zhen, nervously clutched the hem of her clothes, her face flushed with excitement. She had never seen such a grand scene before, nor did she expect that her master would be so revered.

At the center of the altar, ten elders sat regally on a high white jade platform. They varied in appearance; some were as burly as small mountains, while others were as thin as withered bamboo, but without exception, they all exuded a powerful aura that made one's heart tremble. The elderly man in the center, dressed in hemp robes, slowly rose. Today, he was still wearing a simple hemp robe, but he had pinned a golden scale brooch, unique to the dragon people, to his chest.

"Today, Heaven bears witness." The old man's voice was calm, yet it clearly resounded throughout the entire Yuntai. "After deliberation by the twenty-eight tribes, we have appointed our distinguished guest from afar, Jiang Wen, as the thirteenth elder of Baixi."

As soon as he finished speaking, a commotion erupted in the square, with various ethnic groups reacting in different ways.

The Rock People erupted in thunderous cheers, with Yan Ming pumping his fist excitedly. The elder beside him—the current elder of the Rock People—also wore a rare smile. The Rakshasa Clan once again pounded their chests in unison. Xuan Jue of the Four-Armed Clan simultaneously formed a blessing gesture with all four hands, his eyes filled with satisfaction.

The dragon-human ranks remained silent. Ao Xuan snorted coldly and turned his head away. The few young dragon-humans behind him looked dissatisfied, but dared not act rashly in such a situation.

The old man in hemp robes raised his hand and pressed down, waiting for the square to gradually quiet down before continuing, "The thirteen elders purified the sacred land, cut off the source of the black water, and relieved the Hundred Streams from its eternal predicament. This is an achievement witnessed by all twenty-eight clans, and it is also a decision we have made together."

A wooden scepter had appeared in his hand without his noticing. The scepter was about five feet long, dark gold in color, and was carved from the natural form of dead wood from the sacred site, retaining the natural grain and curves of the tree.

The staff's body is faintly visible with fine veins, as if it still has a life force flowing within it. The staff head is naturally spiraled and tapered, with an amber-colored bead set at the top, within which seems to emanate a misty aura.

"This staff is made of newly grown wood from the sacred land, and it is the elder's staff of my Azure Sky Tower." The old man held up the staff with both hands and faced Jiang Wen, "I hope Elder Jiang will hold this staff and protect the Hundred Streams with us."

Jiang Wen stepped forward steadily and bowed to accept the scepter. The moment his fingertips touched the staff, he felt a gentle and delicate vitality emanating from it, resonating subtly with his own magical power.

A glint of light flashed at the jewel at the top of the scepter before returning to calm.

When he raised his scepter to signal to the crowd, the square erupted in thunderous cheers once again.

The call for the "Thirteenth Elder" resounded through the sky, and even the dragon people, who were originally somewhat resistant, had no choice but to bow their heads and remain silent under the overwhelming force.

After the staff-bearing ceremony was completed, Jiang Wen officially became the thirteenth elder of the Baixi tribe.

After the ceremony concluded, representatives from various ethnic groups departed one after another. Jiang Wen bid farewell to Xuan Jueyanming and the others who offered their congratulations with smiles, and returned to his residence temporarily with Jiang Su, Liang Yuan, and Jiang Zhen.

After settling the three of them in, he went alone to a secluded side hall on the upper level of the Sky Tower.
