Moreover, according to the general logic of the development of military science, after the spear was invented, people would naturally start to consider the issue of the shield.

In fact, as early as 2005, when Chang Haonan used the Dongfeng-3 missile to test the feasibility of hypersonic reentry with a double-cone warhead, the ground-to-air missile force had already confirmed that conventional long-range early warning radars could only barely capture some intermittent signals and could not provide sufficiently long early warning preparation time.

Fire control radars designed for aerodynamic targets are simply unable to stably track targets flying at hypersonic speeds, let alone launch missiles to intercept them.

Later, the verification missile launched by Tu-160 basically verified this conclusion.

Previously, when monitoring the X51A's first flight, a strategy was also used to outsmart it through a multi-base radar solution.

The speed of the "Xuanniao" hypersonic verification platform is faster, almost twice that of the previous three. It can already generate a plasma absorption layer of a certain intensity around the flying body, and it adopts an extremely flexible gliding trajectory.

Not to mention interception, even early warning of incoming missiles is difficult to achieve.

As for the Maodao radar station itself, it can continue to serve as a training and tactical research facility.
