Liu Shu came to Kaifeng Prefecture and met Bai Yuting, as well as Mr. Bao and Mr. Gongsun.

Everyone in Kaifeng Prefecture was worried about Zhan Zhao's disappearance.

Lord Gongsun told Liu Shu what happened before Zhan Zhao disappeared.

A theft occurred in the palace, and the emperor handed the case over to Kaifeng Prefecture for investigation, asking Bao Gong to catch the thief and recover the stolen items.

Lord Bao and Mr. Gongsun found some clues in the palace. Zhan Zhao followed those clues and traced them out of the city. But then he never came back and lost track.

Mr. Bao and Mr. Gongsun were very worried. Bai Yuting came to Zhan Zhao for a talk. After knowing that Zhan Zhao was missing, he volunteered to go find him.

But when Bai Yuting followed the clues, he only found a dilapidated temple with nothing inside.

Bai Yutang: "There are only traces of Zhan Xiaomao entering the temple, but no traces of him leaving. It's as if he disappeared out of thin air in the temple. I searched the ruined temple thoroughly, but I didn't find any secret rooms or tunnels."

Bai Yutang looked at Liu Shu and asked, "Are there any ghosts or something like that in the temple?"

Liu Shu: "I have to go and see it myself to judge."

Bai Yutang: "I'll take you there."

Mr. Gongsun stopped the two of them and said, "Mr. Liu has worked hard on the journey. Let Mr. Liu rest first."

Bai Yutang slapped his forehead and said, "Yes, Ah Shu, you should take a rest first."

Liu Shu shook his head: "No need to rest, I used to ride in a carriage, it's not tiring."

In fact, for him who had made great progress in cultivation, hurrying was no big deal, just like taking a half-hour walk after a meal.

Seeing that Liu Shu's face did not show any sign of fatigue, Bai Yutang nodded and said, "Let's go."

The two men left Kaifeng Prefecture and then left the capital, and walked for more than thirty miles until they came to a mountain.

The mountain is not high and you can see the top at a glance.

There is a dilapidated temple halfway up the mountain. The temple is not big and many parts are in ruins.

However, there is one room that is relatively intact, and Zhan Zhao's footprints remain in this room.

Bai Yutang said to Liu Shu, "Zhan Xiaomao must have disappeared in this room. Check to see if there are any traces of demons or ghosts here."

Liu Shu shook his head: "There is no demonic aura, nor ghost aura."

Bai Yutang: "If it's not a demon? Then who else has the magical power to take away Zhan Xiaomao?"

You have to know that he and Zhan Zhao are two of the top masters in the world. Even his four sworn brothers are no match for him and Zhan Zhao.

Who could be more powerful than them and be able to capture Zhan Zhao without leaving any trace?

Liu Shu turned his head and looked at a wall of the wing room: "Master Zhan did not leave this room."

Bai Yuting followed his gaze and found a painting on the wall on one side of the wing room.

The painting is very delicate and the pictures are lifelike.

The picture above shows a village.

There are mountains in the distance of the village, a river at the entrance of the village, and fertile fields with crops near the village.

The men worked in the fertile fields.

There is a farmyard in the village with chickens and ducks. Some women are feeding the chickens, while others are washing clothes by the river.

The children were playing in the water by the river.

What a beautiful pastoral scene.

Bai Yutang had good eyesight and could see clearly that the faces of the people in the picture were very detailed and exactly like real people.

Bai Yuting blinked his eyes and a guess came to his mind.

He asked Liu Shu: "You wouldn't say that Zhan Xiaomao entered this painting?"

Liu Shu raised his finger and pointed at a point in the painting: "Look there."

Bai Yutang looked in the direction he pointed. There was a house that was completely different from the other houses in the village. It was a large courtyard with three entrances built with blue bricks and red tiles. The people living in it should be relatively wealthy. The window of a wing room in the second courtyard was open, revealing the side profile of a figure.

The figure in the painting was very small, but Bai Yuting could still see that the profile was very similar to someone else's.

Bai Yutang was shocked: "No way? You're not saying that the silhouette is Zhan Xiaomao?"

Liu Shu: "Have you heard the story of the painted wall?"

Bai Yutang shook his head.

Of course he hadn't heard it.

Mr. Bai Wu was from the Song Dynasty, while Mr. Pu Songling was from the Qing Dynasty!
It would take several hundred years before "Painted Wall" was created.

Liu Shu briefly told Master Bai Wu the content of "The Painted Wall".

Master Bai Wu pointed at the mural and said, "So, this is The Painted Wall."

Yanagi: "It's the same as being able to pull people in and trap them, but the rest... is very different."

Master Bai Wu: "So, Xiaomao Zhan really entered the mural?"

His eyes suddenly lit up, and he moved closer to the mural, reaching out his hand to poke the figure in the room.

Of course, he couldn't poke anyone.

Master Bai Wu said, "Zhan Xiaomao, can you hear us? If you can, please give us a response."

Just as all the windows in the mural were opened, Zhan Zhao's face appeared.

Zhan Zhao opened his mouth and seemed to say something, but neither Liu Shu nor Bai Yutang could hear it.

Zhan Zhao showed an anxious look on his face.

Liu Shu spoke to comfort Zhan Zhao: "Don't worry, Master Zhan. I will protect Bai Wu and won't let anything happen to him. Just hold on, we will find a way to rescue you."

When Zhan Zhao in the mural heard Liu Shu's words, he nodded towards the outside and his expression returned to calm.

Master Bai Wu was amazed at the side.

"It's so interesting that the kitten has become so small!"

Liu Shu turned and walked out. Bai Yutang hurriedly followed him and asked, "Where are you going? Why don't you get Zhan Zhao out first?"

Liu Shu: "Master Zhan is not in danger now. Let's go investigate the origin of this mural first, and report to Master Bao and Mr. Gongsun that they are safe."

The two returned to Kaifeng Prefecture and told Zhan Zhao about his current situation.

Lord Bao and Mr. Gongsun were both very surprised. They never thought that the mural could actually swallow a person.

Liu Shu asked Mr. Bao: "Mr. Bao, what was the item stolen from the palace?"

Mr. Bao: "It's an antique pen..."

Mr. Bao paused and asked Liu Shu, "Is there any connection between that pen and the mural?"

Liu Shu: “Very likely!”

Liu Shu: "The people in the village on the mural are alive. They know how many years they have lived in the painting. I noticed that the power of the painting is weakening. When the power is completely gone, the people inside will either be swallowed or thrown out of the mural. I think the person who stole the antique pen wants to replenish the power of the mural so that the people inside can continue to live in it."

Master Bai Wu was puzzled: "How to replenish strength?"

The other three looked at him as if he were a stupid child.

Master Bai Wu puffed up his cheeks.

Liu Shu hurriedly explained to him: "Of course, it is to renovate the murals and repaint them."

Master Bai Wu: "So that's how it is. The person who stole the antique pen is the one who painted this mural?"

Liu Shu: "Not necessarily. Let's first find out who painted the mural."

Mr. Bao: "I'll ask Zhang Long and Zhao Hu to investigate. You two have worked hard. Go and have a rest first." (End of this chapter)
