Chapter 745 Electron Transition Batteries
At 9:00 AM, Qiao Ruida arrived at Ruida Building on time for work. He spent the morning processing company documents and the afternoon holding a meeting of senior executives to summarize the past year's performance of each branch and formulate this year's development plan. Benefiting from the continued strong sales of the Strong Foundation IV and the next-generation brain-computer interface, the group's revenue increased by 120% in the past 18 years, and profits doubled, reaching an astonishing 730 billion yuan – a very promising situation.
Of course, not all subsidiaries are doing well. A few subsidiaries, factories, or specific product lines are experiencing slow product updates, declining market share, and stagnant revenue. These include the Ruida Battery Factory, Ruida Automobile Factory, and Ruida Electronics Factory.
"The reason why our Ruida Battery Factory's shipments decreased and profit margins declined last year is because at the beginning of last year, we licensed lithium-air batteries and sodium-air batteries to several domestic lithium battery manufacturers that were on the verge of bankruptcy. Currently, there are as many as five manufacturers in China producing lithium-air batteries and sodium-air batteries in batches. With more products and increased production capacity, the supply and demand relationship has changed, and prices have also decreased. As a result, our battery sales have declined significantly, and our profit margins have naturally decreased."
"We anticipate that in the next six months, sales of batteries produced by our factory will further decrease, prices will continue to decline, and profit margins will further decrease. However, there's no need to worry too much. Our company's electron transition physics battery, which we initiated research and development on, has been initially completed and is currently undergoing mass production plan research. We expect it to be introduced into the production line in the second half of the year for mass production and market launch. When the new battery comes out, it will be lighter, charge faster, be safer, and have a record-breaking energy density, once again dominating the domestic and international battery markets," the factory manager of Ruida Battery Factory summarized.
Ruida Automobile Factory primarily manufactures and sells new energy vehicles and electric cars, and is Ruida Battery's largest customer. Shao Heping, the factory director, pays particular attention to the new battery models.
"As far as I know, your Ruida Battery Factory has already mastered the mature production technology of cold fusion batteries. Compared with electron transition physics batteries, nuclear fusion batteries have higher energy density, larger capacity, and longer lifespan. They don't even need to be recharged; a single charge can last for decades, covering the entire product lifecycle. Why doesn't your factory just go straight to mass production of cold fusion batteries and put them on the market, instead of going through all the trouble of developing electron transition physics batteries?"
"While the production technology for nuclear fusion batteries is indeed mature, the production cost remains high, making widespread adoption unsuitable. It's adequate for high-end flying cars or spaceplanes. However, if used in entry-level new energy vehicles, the price of a single car would exceed 300,000 yuan, which few consumers could afford. Furthermore, the fact that car batteries are so durable, lasting for decades without needing replacement or charging, isn't necessarily a good thing. This would lead to widespread unemployment among gas station workers, charging station maintenance personnel, and petrochemical company employees, creating social problems."
Our self-developed electron transition physical battery has an energy density approximately three times that of lithium-air batteries. It boasts four major advantages: lighter weight, faster speed, safer operation, and lower cost. It can replace existing lithium-air and lithium-sulfur batteries for use in new energy vehicles, mobile phones, and tablets. The electron transition physical battery, together with nuclear fusion batteries, forms a perfect high-low combination. In the automotive industry, entry-level and mid-range models using electron transition physical batteries can easily achieve a range of over 2000 kilometers on a full charge, perfectly sufficient for commuting and weekend trips. High-end cars and all models of flying cars use nuclear fusion batteries as their energy source; a single purchase can last for decades, eliminating the need for refueling or charging, saving time and money. Even with a slightly higher price, consumers can accept it.
"Alright, you've successfully convinced me. Once your electron transition physics battery is in mass production, remember to provide our car factory with a batch of samples as soon as possible. We'll install them in vehicles and conduct range tests, charge/discharge tests, and safety tests." Shao Heping nodded, indicating his initial approval of the new battery's feasibility.
“We at Ruida Technology also need new batteries. Our mobile phone, tablet, and laptop product lines haven’t had any major updates or iterations in two years. Perhaps replacing the batteries with new ones and increasing battery life several times over could be a new selling point.” Ruida Technology’s chief engineer chimed in, requesting new batteries from the battery manufacturer for installation and testing.
"Since launching your foldable screen phone two years ago, your Ruida Technology's mobile phone product line hasn't seen any major breakthroughs in two years. The phone designs are all the same, and every year you just update the main control chip or add one or two more cameras—what's the point? Releasing new phones every year is just repackaging the same old thing; the designs are highly similar to the older models, with extremely poor recognizability. No wonder mobile phone sales continue to decline, and market share keeps hitting new lows. What I want are disruptive products that can attract consumers and ignite the market, not just minor tweaks that replace some components." Seeing someone from Ruida Technology speak, Qiao Ruida seized the opportunity to criticize them.
According to reports provided by Ruida Technology, sales of Ruida series mobile phones declined by 20% year-on-year in the past year, and market share also decreased. While this is partly due to the overcapacity of mobile phone performance and increasingly longer replacement cycles, the main reason is Ruida Technology's lack of focus on new phone development, concentrating only on hardware and software updates while offering little innovation in phone design and functionality. If it weren't for the unexpected explosive success of their new brain-computer interface device, which significantly boosted the company's revenue and profit margin, offsetting the losses from declining mobile phone sales, Ruida Technology's financial statements last year would not have looked so good.
"Mr. Qiao is right. Over the past two years, we have indeed invested insufficient R&D funds and resources in the Ruida series of mobile phones, and we acknowledge that. However, smartphones have been around for ten years since their debut in 09. With numerous companies contributing their efforts, smartphone designs and functions have been largely developed, making it difficult to innovate and develop truly groundbreaking products. However, our company is developing a small, lightweight, screenless ring phone. If the ring phone is successfully developed, it will revolutionize people's understanding of mobile phones, becoming the third generation of mobile phones after feature phones and smartphones." The general manager of Ruida Technology stood up, humbly admitting his mistakes and accepting criticism, before dropping a bombshell. (End of Chapter)
