When they leave the body, you may see white light like a river in your eyes, which means the soul leaves the eyes; or hear the sound of bells, chimes, flutes and pipes in your ears, which means the soul leaves the ears. Because their yang energy is not strong enough, they cannot break through the gate of heaven, so they take other paths and follow their convenience. After leaving the body, they are also free and happy, walking through the streets and alleys, and climbing mountains by the water. But they can take shape, but not split. They can only wander around the world, but cannot fly and change. If the sun is in the sky in midsummer, the yin gods will be afraid and avoid it. Therefore, although they have the style of immortals, they are not free from the interest of ghosts."

Lü Dongbin asked: "Can the Yin Spirit be refined into the Yang Spirit?"

Zhongli Quan said: "Yes. Those who are learning to be immortals, if they are not satisfied with small achievements, can continue to practice after the Yin Spirit emerges, and smash the original form of the Yin Spirit. When the Yin is exhausted and the Yang is pure, the True Immortal will appear."

Lü Dongbin asked again: "How to crush the original form?"

Zhongli Quan said: "Forget your body, empty your mind, and in the void, nothing can grow. Then you can change your mortal body into a spiritual body, and turn an ordinary person into a real person." After saying this, he looked at Tieguai Li, and then said with a smile: "You can also eat the immortal pill of Taishang Laojun."

Tieguai Li seemed to want to say something but stopped himself.

Zhongli Quan continued, "Ordinary people don't have this kind of chance to be immortal!"

Tieguai Li said to Lü Dongbin: "Chun Yangzi, don't worry, you are already the God of Pure Yang."

Zhongli Quan said: "The second is for those who are ambitious and do not seek quick results, but are willing to do slow work. The Yang Spirit can come out but does not come out. When the Yin is exhausted and the Yang is pure, the Yang Spirit is healthy and can lead the work of releasing and nurturing. The body can be abandoned but not abandoned, and the Yuan Spirit is preserved. It is burned and refined thousands of times, forgotten as if it is in the void, and cooked with pure fire. The bones and flesh are transformed with it, and the body and spirit are combined into one again. This is the practice of refining the void and merging with the Tao. The body and spirit are both wonderful, and they are in harmony with the Tao that is everywhere and everywhere. Hundreds of thousands of incarnations appear, and the supernatural powers are vast. They can move clouds and fog, move mountains and fill the sea. Only then can they be considered to have achieved the Tao."

Lü Dongbin asked, "How do we start?"

Zhongli Quan said: "To practice this skill, you need to take the Yang God back into the ancestral orifice, and practice it again and again, and return the spirit to emptiness. The Yang God is refined a hundred times and becomes spiritual. The wisdom light of the Yang God is refined to produce divine fire, which penetrates all the orifices of the body. The Yang flame rises into the sky, penetrating the feet and the top of the head. The body is refined into the Yang God, and the divine light shines everywhere. Finally, the divine fire is refined throughout the body, and the body collapses and shatters into innate ancestral qi that seems to exist but does not exist, seems to not exist but does not exist, and has no shape or trace. It returns to the void and achieves the unity of heaven and man. When the skill is achieved to this point, it can be gathered into shape and dispersed into qi. It is immortal in catastrophes and has a lifespan as long as heaven and earth. Only then can it be considered to have achieved the great way."
