Later, with the birth of Buddhism, Maripada was absorbed and became a Bodhisattva, and was even shaped into the incarnation of Vairocana Buddha.

The moon wheel of Vairocana Buddha emits light, illuminating everywhere, and then evolves into Maripada Bodhisattva.

This is the indestructible heaven, which evolved from the ten Vajra hearts into the holy realm of perseverance, and is the non-dual heaven.

The Bodhisattva Maripada was originally a follower of Indra. He often followed the sun god and ran as fast as an arrow, traveling all over the world to protect all Buddhist disciples.

After Buddhism was introduced into my country, Maripuram Bodhisattva was also highly respected and had many honorific titles, such as "Buddha Mother of Light", "Buddha Mother of Light", "Buddha Mother of Accumulated Light", etc.

Up to this point, Maripudasvaja is just a Bodhisattva in Buddhism.

However, in the Yuan Dynasty, in "Daofa Huiyuan", Dou Mu Yuanjun and Moli Pushian were combined into one, and she completely became the Taoist innate god, namely Dou Mu Yuanjun.

So when did Dou Mu Yuan Jun first appear in records?

The earliest record of Dou Mu Yuanjun's appearance was in the Taoist scripture "The True Scripture of the Natural Birth of the Jade Purity Supreme Spiritual Treasure of the North Dipper" during the Northern Song Dynasty, in which her identity was "Madam Zi Guang".

It is recorded that Lady Zi Guang gave birth to nine sons. The eldest son was Emperor Tianhuang of Shanggong of Gou Chen, the second son was Emperor Beiji of Zhongtian Ziwei, and the seven youngest sons were the Seven Stars of the Big Dipper.

The Chinese have worshiped the Big Dipper since ancient times. Taoism absorbed this worship and created a personal god. By the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the Big Dipper, Ziwei and Gouchen were collectively called the "Nine Emperors."

After the Song Dynasty, the Big Dipper was also given independent deities, and together with Ziwei and Gou Chen, they were worshipped as the "Nine Emperors".

After the "Nine Emperors" became personal gods, their birth stories were confirmed, and their ethical level was in a state of "no father and no mother", which provided an opportunity for the birth of Dou Mu. Zhongli Quan and Lü Dongbin were the founders of the Taoist inner alchemy school.

Zhong Lu emphasized the harmony between yin and yang, so when practicing introspection, there must be a goddess who can serve as the embodiment of yin energy. This goddess who is the embodiment of innate yin energy is called "Nine Emperors' True Mother", which is one of Dou Mu's titles.

That’s right, the appearance of Dou Mu Yuanjun actually has a lot to do with Zhong Lu.

In fact, Dou Mu Yuan Jun had no connection with Moli Putian at first.

It's just that during the Tang and Song dynasties, Buddhism and Taoism influenced and blended with each other, and the Taoist belief in Dou Mu was combined with the Buddhist belief in Mari Putian, gradually forming the image of Dou Mu in later generations.

In addition, one point must be mentioned. In "The True Scripture of the Natural Big Dipper of the Supreme Spirit of Jade Purity", Dou Mu Yuanjun is regarded as the incarnation of Yin Qi of Yuanshi Tianzun, and also evolved from Taiyi Yuanjun, assisting the Jade Emperor in managing the stars.

Dou Mu has many incarnations, just like Lao Jun who preaches wherever she goes.

The original Dou Mu is the innate divine consciousness, and Madam Zi Guang is just a metaphorical incarnation.

In Taoism, there are also cases where Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and Zhongtian Dafan Doumu Yuanjun are mixed together, and the hand seals of the two statues are the same.

Chen Yun knew that if it was really Bodhisattva Mariputra who came this time, it would be troublesome.

Why?

Since the Bodhisattva Mari Pushian was able to become a Taoist god later, and a supreme innate god like Dou Mu Yuan Jun, his magical powers must be boundless and definitely not just ordinary supernatural powers.
