Chapter 826 So Many Things
Wang Yang gave a helpless, bitter smile. No matter how worried Qin Wanwan was, he wasn't that kind of person and would never have an ambiguous relationship with other women.

"Alright, Auntie, I'll head back now. You should go home and visit when you have time; Qin Wanwan and the others miss you very much. You've been too busy lately; you should take a break."

"If you really knew how busy I was, you wouldn't have given me so much work. I already have a mountain of work to do, and you're still getting one thing after another."

Hearing his aunt say that, Wang Yang did feel a little guilty. He had indeed caused his aunt a lot of trouble.

"I will thank you properly once this matter is settled. I'll take my leave now."

On the way back, Wang Yang kept thinking about his aunt's words. Should he really bring Qin Wanwan along?

When he arrived home, Qin Wanwan had already prepared dinner and was waiting for him.

"You're back? I almost thought you weren't coming home for dinner today."

"How could that be? I would have called to tell you if I hadn't come back. Why don't you eat first?"

Qin Wanwan looked at him tenderly: "How long has it been since we had dinner together like this? I wanted to wait for you to join me."

"I saw my aunt today, and she talked to me a lot. I was wondering if you really wanted to come with me?"

Upon hearing this, Qin Wanwan paused slightly. She hadn't expected Wang Yang to ask such a question.

"Why are you suddenly asking this? Didn't I tell you before that I wanted to go with you, but you disagreed, saying it was too dangerous?"

“Indeed, this trip is dangerous and the environment is tough, and I don’t want you to suffer along with me. But my aunt said you’re not at ease at home, which makes me feel very guilty.”

Qin Wanwan immediately grasped his hand: "Don't think like that. I'm not doing badly, I'm just worried about you. As long as you're well, I'm at ease."

Wang Yang couldn't help but sigh, wondering what he had done to deserve such an understanding wife as Qin Wanwan.

"I understand. So, would you still like to come with me?"

He thought Qin Wanwan would readily agree, but to his surprise, she shook her head and refused.

“Emotionally, of course I want to stay by your side and take care of you. But rationally, I know that the conditions there are harsh, and if I go with you, it will only distract you from taking care of me and affect your ability to concentrate on your work. I will become a burden to you.”

From an emotional standpoint, Qin Wanwan was naturally willing to go along. But after calm reflection, she felt she shouldn't burden Wang Yang.

“I never thought of you as a burden, I just really didn’t want you to be in danger.”

“That’s exactly right, I understand you. That’s why I won’t go with you. I’ll stay here and take care of the home and the company so you can have no worries.”

Wang Yang looked at her with emotion: "Thank you so much. I've been busy out here lately and haven't been able to call much. I have so many things to take care of. But I know you've been waiting for me."

Qin Wanwan nodded gently. Her only wish was for Wang Yang to be safe; whether or not he reported his safety was secondary.

Why are you suddenly asking about this? Did your aunt say something to you?

"Yes. She said you wanted to be by my side, and I felt the same way. But I still had some concerns."

Her aunt understood her feelings best. In fact, she was just like her aunt, worried that Wang Yang was suffering outside, but she was helpless because she couldn't help him from afar.

"It's alright, as long as you're safe and sound, don't worry about us. But I still want to ask, how's Shen Qing's matter going?"

"Don't worry, she's a reasonable person and won't make trouble. I apologized to her for hiding the news of our marriage, explaining that it was to protect your safety, and she understood."

Qin Wanwan nodded. When Shen Qing visited that day, she could tell that the other party was well-educated and reasonable, and not someone who would cause trouble unreasonably.

"Honestly, if it weren't for me, you two would be a match made in heaven. I heard from my aunt that you were betrothed to her when you were little?" "You're overthinking it. The person I was betrothed to wasn't her at all, because she's not Shen Qiang's biological daughter; it was someone else."

Qin Wanwan then realized. Indeed, Shen Qing was not Shen Qiang's biological son.

"So who exactly is Shen Qiang's biological daughter? I'm very curious about what this woman you're betrothed to is like. Let me see her."

Wang Yang couldn't help but chuckle. If Qin Wanwan knew it was Xia, she would probably be both amused and exasperated.

"This is a secret for now; I haven't told anyone yet. We'll find out when the mystery is solved. Anyway, you don't need to worry; she poses no threat to you."

"why?"

Qin Wanwan was puzzled and wondered if the other person was not good-looking or was already married.

Is she already married?

"No. Just know this. Don't worry, there will be no romantic entanglement between me and her."

After dinner, the two snuggled together on the sofa to watch a movie. When her mother still hadn't returned by evening, Qin Wanwan became worried and made a phone call.

"Mom, why isn't she back yet?"

"She said she wanted to have dinner at Aunt Zhang's house. She's never done this before, and it seems like she and Aunt Zhang don't have a very good relationship."

Wang Yang smiled calmly: "These old ladies are all just putting on a show. Let them be and let her have some fun outside."

Wang Yang knew very well that Wang Lan's interactions with her old friends were mostly to show off her and her daughter's lives.

“I’m just a little worried. My mom hasn’t been eating at home much lately, she keeps going to Aunt Zhang’s house. I don’t know what’s so appealing about her house, maybe she has a particularly lovable child?”

Wang Yang found it amusing, as he knew Aunt Zhang's family shouldn't have any children.

"Don't worry, we'll find out when she gets back and we can ask her carefully."

"Alright, let's eat first."

After dinner, Wang Yang and Qin Wanwan went for a walk. When they returned, it was nearly nine o'clock, and Wang Lan was still nowhere to be seen. Just as the two were about to go out to look for her, she slowly strolled back.

"Mom, what have you been busy with lately? You haven't even been home for dinner."

"Go visit Aunt Zhang. Didn't I tell you? I ate at her house before, and her food is really good."

Qin Wanwan looked at her mother with suspicion: "Didn't you always say that you didn't get along with Aunt Zhang? When did you become so close? I didn't know that."

"You really don't know how to talk. When have I ever had a falling out with her? We've always gotten along very well, so don't worry about it."

Watching the mother and daughter bicker, Wang Yang couldn't help but smile.

“Wang Yang is back recently, so you should stay home and spend more time with Wanwan. I was afraid she would be lonely before, so I didn’t dare to go out. Now that you’re back, I can relax and have gatherings with my old girlfriends.”

Wang Yang readily agreed. Qin Wanwan, standing to the side, secretly found it amusing; it was clearly because her mother had a falling out with her friends that she didn't want to go out.

"What exactly do you do all day at Aunt Zhang's house? I'm really curious what's so interesting about her house?"

“You wouldn’t understand even if I told you. But Aunt Zhang was acting strangely today, asking all sorts of nonsensical questions. I couldn’t understand what she was saying.”
