Chapter 790 Wolf Attack
The green-eyed creatures moved almost silently, their location only occasionally revealed by the soft "crack" of snapping twigs. They didn't seem to be in a hurry to attack, but instead formed a perfect encirclement, trapping the three of them in the center.

Xiaolongnu gently placed Yang Guo on a flat rock and quickly checked his condition. Yang Guo's breathing became increasingly rapid, his chest heaving violently, and the blood vessels under his skin were clearly visible, showing an abnormal bluish-purple color.

"Master Guo, the situation is dire." Little Dragon Girl's voice held an unusual urgency. "Two forces are clashing within his meridians. If they aren't reconciled quickly, I'm afraid..."

Her words were interrupted by a piercing wolf howl. The sound was unlike an ordinary wolf howl; it was more like a agonizing roar, echoing under the blood moon, sending chills down one's spine. Immediately afterwards, the surrounding green-eyed creatures responded in unison, their voices rising and falling, forming an eerie harmony.

Guo Jing squinted and finally saw the true forms of those creatures—they were indeed wolves, but nearly twice the size of ordinary wolves, their fur an unhealthy grayish-red, and murky saliva dripping from their mouths. Most unsettling were their eyes, bloodshot and green, their gaze revealing an almost human-like madness.

“These wolves are strange,” Guo Jing said in a deep voice, his bowstring already drawn taut. “Miss Long, you take Guo’er and go first; I’ll cover the rear.”

Just as Xiaolongnu was about to respond, Yang Guo suddenly convulsed violently, blood spilling from his mouth. She quickly pressed several acupoints on him, but with little effect. "No, the power within him is spiraling out of control. I must immediately guide his internal energy. Hero Guo, I need time."

Guo Jing didn't turn around, but his voice was as firm as iron: "Half a quarter of an hour, no more."

No sooner had he finished speaking than the first wolf pounced. Guo Jing released the bowstring, and the arrow pierced the air, precisely striking the wolf's throat. However, to everyone's astonishment, the wolf did not fall immediately, but instead charged forward a few more steps with the arrow still embedded in its throat before collapsing to the ground with a thud.

More wolves swarmed in from all directions. Guo Jing abandoned his bow and used his palm strikes, the powerful internal energy of the Eighteen Subduing Dragon Palms surging in the night, each strike carrying the force of an overwhelming tidal wave. However, the wolves seemed oblivious to pain, even with broken legs and bones, they still pounced and tore at him.

Xiaolongnu sat cross-legged beside Yang Guo, placing her hands on his chest and dantian. She closed her eyes and concentrated, slowly channeling her pure inner energy into Yang Guo's body, attempting to guide the two violent forces within him. She could sense that one was the gentle, yin energy from the Nine Yin Manual, while the other was unfamiliar and domineering, carrying an ancient and evil aura, rampaging through Yang Guo's meridians.

"This is..." Little Dragon Girl was shocked. She had never encountered such strange internal energy before. The power seemed to have a life of its own. After sensing her intervention, it even separated a wisp and attacked her. Little Dragon Girl hurriedly withdrew her palm, but it was too late. The wisp of power had already entered her body through her fingertips, and a chill immediately shot from her arm straight to her heart.

She suppressed her discomfort and tried again to soothe Yang Guo's nerves. This time, she was more cautious, using the unique Yin-Yang internal energy of the Ancient Tomb Sect to form a barrier, carefully guiding the power of the Nine Yin Manual to neutralize that unfamiliar force.

Meanwhile, Guo Jing had already killed more than ten strange wolves, but more were pouring out of the forest. Worse still, he noticed that these wolves seemed to be learning his moves, their later attacks becoming increasingly methodical, and they even knew how to coordinate with each other.

"Miss Long, time's up!" Guo Jing shouted, sending three wolves that were attacking him at the same time flying with a single palm strike. However, another wolf's claws still managed to slash his back. The smell of blood seemed to spur the wolves on, and their attacks became even more ferocious.

Little Dragon Girl opened her eyes, her face as pale as paper, a trickle of blood seeping from the corner of her mouth. "Give me a little more time, just a little bit more."

Guo Jing gritted his teeth, suddenly drew a short knife from his waist, and slashed his palm, blood gushing out immediately. He flung the blood around him, letting out a deafening roar. The roar contained profound internal energy, causing the surrounding trees to rustle and leaves to fall.

The wolf pack was stunned by the sudden roar, and their attack faltered. Guo Jing seized this fleeting opportunity and quickly retreated back to Xiaolongnu and Yang Guo's side.

"how?"

Little Dragon Girl shook her head: "I can only suppress it temporarily, not eradicate it completely. We must get to the Ancient Tomb as soon as possible; the Jade Maiden Heart Sutra might have a solution."

Yang Guo had stopped convulsing, but his face remained deathly pale, and his lips were an unnatural bluish-purple. Xiaolongnu picked him up again and discovered his body temperature was alarmingly low. "Let's go!" Guo Jing picked up his longbow and fired an arrow towards the densest part of the wolf pack, clearing a path for Xiaolongnu.

The two broke through the encirclement one after the other and sped towards the ancient tomb. After a brief moment of chaos, the wolf pack quickly regrouped and gave chase. Under the blood moon, a life-or-death pursuit unfolded in the dense forests of Zhongnan Mountain.

After running for about two miles, Xiaolongnu suddenly lost her footing and almost fell. Guo Jing quickly caught her and then noticed that the sleeve of her right arm was soaked with blood.

“Are you hurt?”

Little Dragon Girl shook her head: "It's not an external injury, it's that force." Before she could finish speaking, she suddenly looked up alertly, "Watch out above!"

Guo Jing instinctively dodged to the side, and a dark shadow swooped down from the treetop, its sharp claws grazing his cheek. It wasn't a wolf, but a huge lynx, its eyes also gleaming green, drool dripping from its mouth.

"Even the lynxes..." Guo Jing's heart sank, realizing the situation was worse than he had imagined. The blood moon had not only affected the wolf pack, but it seemed that all the wild beasts on the mountain had become abnormally frenzied.

The entrance to the ancient tomb was just ahead, but the pursuers were getting closer. Guo Jing suddenly stopped: "Miss Long, you take Guo'er into the tomb first, I'll hold them off."

Xiaolongnu hesitated, but seeing Yang Guo's increasingly weak breathing, she finally nodded: "Take care, Master Guo." After saying that, she carried Yang Guo and sped towards the entrance of the ancient tomb.

Guo Jing turned to face the surging horde of beasts, took a deep breath, and assumed the starting stance of the Eighteen Subduing Dragon Palms. In the moonlight, his figure appeared exceptionally lonely and majestic.

“Come on, you beasts,” he whispered, a fighting spirit burning in his eyes.

Just as the first wave of beasts was about to pounce on him, a clear and melodious sound of a jade flute suddenly came from the direction of the ancient tomb. The sound was like a clear spring flowing through a mountain stream, or a spring breeze brushing against the willow branches, completely out of place in this bloody night.

Surprisingly, the beasts stopped their attack upon hearing the flute music, and the green light in their eyes began to flicker. Guo Jing turned around and saw Xiaolongnu, dressed in white, holding a jade flute and playing an ancient melody at the entrance of the ancient tomb.

The melody seemed to possess a magical power; the wild beasts began to stir restlessly, some even tearing at each other. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Guo Jing quickly retreated and reunited with Xiaolongnu.

"This is."

"The Ancient Tomb Sect's Pure Heart and Universal Benevolence Mantra," Little Dragon Girl put down her jade flute, her voice weak, "can only temporarily confuse them. Hurry inside."

The two quickly entered the ancient tomb, the heavy stone door slamming shut behind them, shutting out the frenzied beasts. In the darkness, only Yang Guo's faint breathing and the rapid beatings of their hearts echoed in the deep tomb passage.
