Chapter 23 A family of beasts

Li Fang's family was in a remote mountainous area and was already poor. Coupled with the feudal ideology of the place, she always believed that girls with high school qualifications would not be retained, so she always thought of marrying off her daughter.

Upon hearing that Zhouhe Village was willing to pay for a daughter-in-law, Li Fang's family naturally agreed happily.

Soon, young Li Fang came to Zhouhe Village and became Wang Zhigui's wife.

Seeing Wang Zhigui marrying a wife, the village chief didn't want to see him still like before, eating all day long and waiting to die.

So since Li Fang passed away, the village chief has been telling Wang Zhigui from time to time, telling him that it is not easy to find a wife.

The village chief warned Wang Zhigui that since they were married, the two of them should live a good life and let Wang Zhigui treat his wife well.

At the same time, the village chief also asked Wang Zhigui to calm down and not to idle around all day long, eat, drink and have fun with his friends, but to find something to do and not to subsidize the family.

This is Wang Zhigui's waste. Otherwise, if his child is in his thirties, the older generation will remind him.

Maybe the village chief was tired of talking about it all the time, so the family agreed to take care of it.

The village chief was also happy that Wang Zhigui's prodigal son had turned around, and even made plans to introduce him to a job and let him work in the city.

At first, Wang Zhigui himself seemed to be very ambitious, and he accepted the job in the city immediately.

In order to show the village chief that he had changed his ways, he went directly to the city.

It's a pity that rotten wood is rotten wood, and Wang Zhigui is a dog who cannot change his habit of eating shit.

After only two days of working in the city, he returned to Zhouhe Village in despair.

When the village chief saw this, he thought something had happened and hurriedly came to talk to Wang Zhigui.

Who knows what this loser actually said, the work in the city is too tiring and he can't do it.

For such a grown man, who is so arrogant and so useless, the village chief is naturally extremely disappointed with him and doesn't want to waste any more energy on Wang Zhigui's affairs.

"Then Wang Zhigui is just a pile of mud that can't hold up the wall. I feel ashamed to have such a person on the stand!"

The old village chief shook his head slightly, with a look of helplessness on his face.

Then a hint of guilt flashed in his eyes, and the old village chief sighed quietly and continued:

"That girl Li Fang has become like this, and I am also responsible!"

"Wang Zhigui does nothing at home, and all the burden of the family falls on Li Fang's shoulders."

"The child's life was miserable. Even though he was pregnant, he was forced to work around the house, either feeding the pigs, cutting firewood, or lighting a fire to cook."

"Wang Zhigui's family is like a dead person. Whatever needs a pregnant woman to do, the whole family needs Li Fang to take care of them."

"Even if Li Fang doesn't do well enough and doesn't agree with that beast Wang Zhigui, he will be beaten severely by Wang Zhigui."

"How pitiful, this family is all beasts!"

Speaking of this, the old village chief's voice became a little louder uncontrollably because of his excitement.

His eyes were red and he gritted his teeth and said:

"They say a loving mother often loses her son!"

"Wang Zhigui's mother really spoiled her into a loser. When her son beat her daughter-in-law, she not only ignored him, but even favored Wang Zhigui, blaming all the faults on Li Fang."

"It's so pitiful that a pregnant woman has to suffer so much. I feel so guilty!"

The old village chief was trembling, with extremely complicated emotions on his face.

On the one hand, he was angry at the beastly behavior of Wang Zhigui's family, and on the other hand, he felt guilty for sending Li Fang to the Wang family.

If Wang Zhigui hadn't found a wife, how could things have gotten to this point?

The old village chief took a deep breath, then gritted his teeth and continued:
"Although I heard some rumors about Li Fang's suffering, I couldn't really hear it."

"It wasn't until later that the girl Li Fang couldn't stand the torture of this family anymore, so she found an opportunity to find me and told me everything she had suffered."

"This girl is even worried that I don't believe it, so she even showed her injuries to the little old man." The village chief's voice trembled a little when he said this, as if he recalled the torture Li Fang suffered.

So he directly scolded: "Then Wang Zhigui's family are blood-sucking insects worse than pigs and dogs!"

Faced with Li Fang's request for help, the old village chief naturally did not sit idly by.

In order to let Wang Zhigui's family remember the incident, the village chief even called the police.

But it was precisely because of this call that it became the trigger that led to Li Fang's death.

"Young man should not have called the police in the first place!"

The old village chief was filled with tears, extremely guilty, and regretted:

"If I had not reported the incident to the police, what happened later might not have happened."

The old village chief continued to talk about what happened next.

He called the police, and the police came to Zhouhe Village soon. After learning about the situation of Wang Zhigui's family, the police took Wang Zhigui directly back to the detention center without saying anything.

Wang Zhigui stayed in the detention center for three days and received criticism and education every day.

But this good-for-nothing was a second-rate man himself, and the three days of education in the detention center failed to make him realize his mistake.

Instead, he attributed all this to Li Fang looking for trouble, which was why he was caught and lost face.

Therefore, after returning from the detention center, Wang Zhigui became more violent, hitting and scolding Li Fang.

Wang Zhigui's parents not only did not dissuade her, but joined Wang Zhigui in insulting Li Fang, thinking that if Li Fang was such a mean daughter, how could their precious son end up in a detention center.

There were even times when the two old men got so excited about scolding that they would help Wang Zhigui beat Li Fang together.

In such an environment, even an iron man will be broken.

What's more, Li Fang was pregnant at the time and her body was weak due to alcohol. How could she endure such torture?

So without any surprise, Li Fang was directly beaten to death by Wang Zhigui.

Li Fang is dead.

Wang Zhigui's family immediately panicked, fearing that something would happen and outsiders would find out.

So the family secretly transported Li Fang's body to the mass grave overnight and buried it indiscriminately.

Originally, rural women were busy with household chores, so sometimes they would not see each other for ten days or more.

Therefore, everyone didn't find it strange that they didn't see Li Fang at first.

It was not until later that people in the village became suspicious.

Faced with the suspicion of the villagers, Wang Zhigui's family insisted that Li Fang ran away because he disliked Zhouhe Village for being poor.

It is rare and strange for the daughter-in-law who bought it to run away.

People in the village were skeptical.

The village chief was confused at the time and didn't think much about it.

He originally wanted to call the police and ask the police to find the missing Li Fang.

But at that time, I thought that Wang Zhigui's family was nothing. If Li Fang could escape, it would be considered as escaping from the clutches of the devil.

"The little old man was confused at the time. He didn't think much about it. He just thought that if Li Fang's daughter could really escape, she would be free from this family of beasts!"

"Who knows..."

"I can't help Li Fang!"
